    One little tip on the oil change, get some disposable diapers and lay in the drain "cookie sheet" and you won't have to worry about spilling oil when the pan is removed.

    I will be doing this to mine this weekend. Last time I used it at the race track , it was givin me a whole bunch of issues. So it’s time for some maintenance and I’ll try your tricks , I’m gonna put the big wheel kit on it also. Thanks for making this video.

    That was a great video. I bought the same generator last September and I love it. I keep it in the back of my truck always and run an extension cord up with a little electric heater in my cab and that's how I sleep in the truck. I use the same oil in the generator as I do in my truck 5 W 40 Rotella full synthetic. I also run an extension cord to my block heater and just shut my engine off at night. I've slept in the truck at 25 below zero wind chill factor and wake up the next morning and start the truck right up because the block heater keeps it warm.

    Got this unit last September. Did all the mods right away. Changed the oil after the first hour and ran it for 20 minutes every 3 months. Everything worked great. Last night we had a power outage and I finally got to use it for the reason I bought it. Well, the battery was dead so I had to use the pull cord and started right up. Ran a 25ft. extension cord to the house and had my refrigerator and a lamp running. After about 1 1/2 hours it stopped making power intermittently. Finally the voltage meter went dark and I shut it down. 3 hours on the hour meter, first time I needed it and it quit! WTF!

    Wish I had room for a Generator that big. With a short bed space is limited. I have thought about removing bed cover and mounting on top of fuel tank. Just don't think fuel tank was made to hold 100lbs all the time bouncing down the road. Great video again Sir.

    What did you decide to do about the C02 sensor? I’ve read that it can be as problematic as the charcoal canister.

      Depending upon the dusty/dirty environment, about every 50 hours, wash out with gasoline, and lightly re-oil the sponge.

    BPR6ES is a 200° hotter spark plug. It can cause it to run hotter. There is a NGK spark plug that is more appropriate

    • @TravelinTim
      @TravelinTim  4 дня назад +1

      @@CHASNTRUCKS a hotter spark plug is not going to make it physically run hotter. These little engines run way too rich so a hotter spark plug is a better solution

    Those vents you point to are inside the filter box. Air can only enter through that one small opening.

    • @TravelinTim
      @TravelinTim  Год назад +3

      Yes the vents are inside the air filter housing, letting air come into the air filter housing. That's what vents are for.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful. But Why did you choose that spark plug? The cross reference for the torch calls for a BPR7ES.

    • @TravelinTim
      @TravelinTim  8 месяцев назад +1

      It was recommended to me by a friend of mine that I consider one of the smartest small engine guys on the planet. He recommended it based on the way I run my generator. 11 hours a day, every day for three weeks straight and then take a week off.

    • @amandabechir
      @amandabechir 7 месяцев назад +1

      I came through another video the guy claimed that spark plug runs 200 F hotter than the equivalent to the Torch F7RTC which is the NGK BPR7ES. He says the generator runs outside in the hot sun with no radiator or a fan to cool it off, that you will run into problems. What do you think about that?

    • @TravelinTim
      @TravelinTim  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@amandabechir I think I run my generator 11 hours a day for 3 weeks straight, take a week off and do it again. It sits in the bed of my truck. The spark plug might run hotter but that doesn't mean the engine runs hotter.
