Definitely a better answer than "because they have AURA". Watching a calm kind character lose it hits harder than a wild card. Because controlled chaos is a walking threat while a raging storm is a natural phenomenon. The latter is predictable and can be avoided. However the the former is as dangerous as they choose to be.
Perfectly described.
The reason why we get more appreciation for characters like yuji or Yusuke is because yes they care for the people around them but they will do the dirty deeds to get a job done.
What does yuji do dirty?
@chicken1456 he killed three children in s1 to save nanami yes they were transformed by mahito ct and they can't be saved but he still struggled to do it
@@thelegandgamer2830 I don’t consider that dirty, like you said transformed humans. Plus mercy killings
@@thelegandgamer2830if that is a dirty job then luffy is a monster
@@chicken1456he killed 2 of his own brothers(unknowingly at the time) and later consumed the other 6 left for power and the ability to use blood manipulation. He has made it clear he will do anything to kill Sukuna, including literal cannabalism.
He isn't the type to kill or cause collateral damage unless its necessary but should it be he will. Like it's not harped upon much but basically anyone not a sorcerer still anywhere near the fight with sukuna will be killed by being near jt, yet yuji hasnt given that any thought.
Yuji will perform acts he considers dirty, like killing transfigurations, or curse users, but there are definitely still lines he hasnt anf wont let himself cross
Yusuke is the GOAT of anime protagonists 🐐
let's go!
Yeah He’s my OG fave and my new gen fave is Isagi
Yusuke left such a lasting impression on me as a kid I got a tattoo of the 4 yyh main characters on my leg
The "bad boy" or threat with a kind heart is the ideal peak of masculinity. Think it's also the reason why dating sucks because people want the peak but, go for the bad rather than the good hoping for the good to manifest. If they go for the good then the complaint is they're boring (not "bad" enough).
I'd really recommend reading Dandadan if you haven't, it kinda explores this idea and is a super fun read with a great cast of characters.
Chihiro is the Batman of Manga.
Chihiro and Cid Kagenou are basically the Batman of Manga.
Batman doesn't kill.
More like Red Hood
Chihiro is so goated he is so cold and emotional at the same time!
Great video. Another great Chihiro moment was when Hakuri asked him to slay his father and Chihiro simply said "you got it" or something like that.
Yes! I love those moments. and thank you so much!
I Always Feel more Related to Yusuke, Yuji, Chihiro and other Aura Protagonist for being... Just Trying to Live an Ordinary Live and Not letting anyone mess with there Lives!
Chihiri mentioned. Im subscribimg
Thank you!
Saying Yuji isn’t a typical good guy main character but Luffy is, is crazy. Luffy really isn’t your typical good boy protagonist. That’s actually what I really love abt him. The first chapter he met a dude that was forced to do labor for a pirate for 2 yrs cuz he got on the wrong boat and Luffy called him a dumbass and a coward. When the guy was inspired by luffy to chase after his own dreams and asked luffy if he thinks he can do it, luffy literally just told him “how tf should I know?”. He only helped him escape that pirate after he stood up for his own self first. He’s sometimes really sassy. He constantly threatens to beat up strangers who get on his nerve like that officer in Skypiea who kept accusing him of committing crimes or that old man who insulted him in Arabasta. He doesn’t really gaf abt innocent civilians and freed like thousands of level 6 criminals just bc they’d benefit him in getting his brother back. He never tries to prove to ppl that he’s a “good pirate” and tells them to decide that on their own. He also always uses ppl as human shields in battle like with buggy. And he also has little to no moments of sympathizing with antagonists. On top of all of this he’s considered a bad guy in his own verse and got sent to jail before. Yuji on the other hand is more of a good guy than luffy. He feels bad killing his own enemies and constantly has a hard time facing curses bc they were humans before so idk where you’re getting this from.
Facts bro it’s really easy to think luffy as a typical hero but he’s definitely more gray then people give him credit. He even said he doesn’t want to be a hero
I swear I’ve never seen people overate a character as much as yall do luffy
He would even through hands with little kids he wanted to fight Momo and Atlas and he doesn't care if your a woman he would hit you anyways.
@@chicken1456 how? This is actually a good analysis
Im pretty sure hes talking about his personality and outlook in life. Luffy is loud, stubborn, overly goofy, somewhat gullible , loud laughing and outright silly in times he really shouldnt, and is an outright dumbass. Unlike Luffy, Yuji and Yusuke will have periods of struggle finding their place in the world, how they carry it out, why they carry it out and should they carry it out. Luffy doesnt see the big picture.......ever.
Imo Yusuke is better than Luffy/Yuji/Goku
Luffy for me but I understand your choice yusuke is goated😤
Nah
Valid opinion, for me it’s honestly yuji.
I watch yu yu hakusho and maybe it's true who knows but I love yuji.
Yuji = Yusuke
Sakamoto, Akane, and Fuuko with Andy are pretty great protagonists from the current era. Plus, Yusuke is the epitome of that delinquent who's actually a great guy, but most people are just assholes to him who's a goated protagonist no doubt.
My GOAT Chihiro Rokuhira 🗣️
Yusuke is change name to from the phillipines call eugene.According to wiki. Yu Yu Hakusho was localized in the Philippines as Ghost Fighter and aired on IBC in the mid-1990s, as well as on GMA Network in 1999. This version of the dub localized the characters' names, such as changing "Yusuke" to "Eugene
Yusuke ✊🏾✊🏾🔥
I reread the first 100 chapters of one piece awhile back and really paid attention to luffys character and he's actually more so a loveable asshole than cookie cutter good guy that he's getting labled with
Chihiro is my goat.
This is such a good point, theres a hater for everything but Ive never seen even one for yusuke
If the tone of One Piece wasn't so goofy, Luffy would fit that description too.
He could be conidered even more morally gray because his reason for beating someone is usually that he doesn't like them, not that they aren't good. He usually beats bad guys though because he is a good guy.
But if the thing all of those three share is that they are good guys despite having been through stuff and that they have no problem with fucking their enemies up then Luffy definitely fits that description too.
I‘m very fond of Tanjiro Kamado. Even in his bloody, cruel world full of demons.
He doesn’t see a reason to mindlessly slaughter the monsters of his world or make them suffer.
It doesn’t always have to be a butcher like Guts or Eren Yeager that leave guts and rubble.
Tanjiro is all about chopping off the head and be done with the job.
He’s smart, charismatic and has responsibility with him all the way in a basket. Tanjiro doesn’t have rather idiotic traits like Luffy and Naruto which of course are also loved.
Correct me if im wrong, but isn't that the same reason people call him a terribly written mc?
@@_.JenstuYep, also apparently because his personality traits are one dimensional
@Nourpy yea his personality traits are definitely one dimensional
Chihiro has too much aura, bro pulls up like he's Batman and slaughters a whole room of goons, and exudes a feeling of power without actually being overpowered in his verse.
Bro, Natsu would burn the world for his guild.
I like this trope a lot better than most tropes in shonen characters in general.
Yusuke is great and thank to him we have ichigo and yuji. .well more ichigo yuji is a ichigo/gon
YUSUKE AND YUJI MENTIONED
He’s not a shonen character like these guys but sonic the hedgehog fits this trope to a T
Yuji and Chihiro are my recent goats fr fr
Such a good vid
Thank you so much!
See all their creature understand the secret formula to make this type of character work. It’s their gentle an caring heart. They can be edgy because their views aren’t. Edgy characters suck if they just hate their world. Chihiro can exist because he’s the opposite in the inside to what he shows the world. Good video!
Yusuke was my favorite on the show until Hiei 😅. Hiei's no nonsense quick end approach to fights was refreshing in its own way coming from dragonball to yyh
Luffy is anything but a typical good guy. He is a chaotic neutral archetype character
That boy is typical.
Luffy is the definition of typical
@@thisisme2014 not really as most popular MC's are on the right side of the law while Luffy isn't.
@@Axelblaze1022 Yusuke is a delinquent, Kenshin was a revolutionary and in times of war the "right side" is blurred and even says he will fight for only what's right, Akira Toriyama claims Goku isn't a good guy and just wants a fight to an extent I disagree but he isn't a damn costumed superhero solving crime, Ichigo rebelled against Soul Sociey Law, Edward Elric helped overthrow a botched dictatorship. Gon just does what he wants. Luffy doesn't stand out in that regard.
@@UnifiedEntity You literally named 3 unique protagonist plus Goku and Ichigo. I haven't watched Dragon ball so I can't speak about it but from Ichigo's perspective he is a human first and he literally follows the laws in Kurokara town so him breaking the rules set from the soul society doesn't really much as he is an outsider.
Also Luffy being a chaotic neutral main character is quite a rare thing as most main characters are either chaotic good or lawfully good.
I'm a simple man. I see TENOI, I click.
Subaru is the goat of mcs🗣🔥
Nice background music, you play 3rd Strike?😊
I do! I’m not that great at it, but I love all of the Capcom games like Darkstalkers.
Sakuragi and Ichigo are awesome protagonists like Yusuke too
Yusuke,Yuji, and Chihiro are the most goated trio in my opinion
i love kaiji, he is my absolute favorite
My favorite character trope is freaky deaky
Yuji just feels more human and real to me, Naruto just be so unrealistic such as wanting to save sasuke besides all that he has done I find that level of resolve very cringe and cheesy,
Yuji also isn’t your typical overpowered mc he loses and that’s ok but his recent major win against sukuna made up for all them loses he had.
Yuji imo is a better mc than most out there, the only mc I think surpasses him is Guts from Berserk
I disagree naruto has way more heart to me and I like him way more as a charcater and had a tougher upbringing
naruto wanting to save people shows his determination as a person and has inspired me and many other people
guts naruto luffy Yusuke are all better than yuji imo
Does a character being kind but deep down brutal when the situation calls for it really make them a villain or does that mean they don’t suffer fools and chose to exercise their strength when it’s warranted. Like Kurama is both one of the kindest and most brutal characters of all time (guys like Yusuke and Hiei respect him) but he is only the latter when he needs to be (elder Toguro)
can't we just have a remake of this show, include slam dunk as well.
Yes
I’m gonna say it: Yuji is HOT
Not too be a hater but this 3 characters are not part of a trope like you explained the only thing you explained in the video which link them is you viewing them as cool character which kickass which could be the same for any shonen protagonist. Yuji ( spoiler) would be similar to Gon but in his dark path ending up like naruto instead of losing his mind like Gon . Yusuke feels a bit like ichigo cool kinda delinquent character who fights for the people he cares about. Chihiro is the one which kinds differs from most shonen protagonist by having revenge as one of his goal but not being consumed by it like Sasuke was.
Facts i love character that are wolves in sheep's clothing
11:00 so...just like Naruto or Deku or Asta? It's very strange you didn't bring up those characters when the entire video was about "characters who choose to be good people and choose to do the right thing, even though they have every reason to be pissed off at everyone".
Because thats not the kind of character I’m talking about. Yusuke is not a traditionally good character. He’s a delinquent. Deku and Asta are the furthest thing from delinquents.
@@ShonenOuji ...and neither is Yuji? Yuji is the furthest thing from a delinquent too lmao, he's a traditionally good character just like Deku and Asta, and every single one of them have reasons to be pissed at the world. So it doesn't make any sense why you're trying to put a line between them
@@afro025 technically yuji is a delinquent. he entered a pachinko parlor underaged and frequently beat bullies up before he became a jujutsu sorcerer.
@@afro025 The difference with Yuji is that he doesn’t start out as a menacing character but ends up that way. Like I said in the video, it’s not the arcs, but where these characters end up.
@@subzero8520 Yuji isn't "technically" a delinquent though. A delinquent is a young person showing or characterized by a tendency to commit crime, particularly minor crime. Going into a pachinko parlor *once* doesn't make someone a delinquent, it's only if it happens repeatedly. Furthermore, Itadori didn't "frequently" beat bullies up before the events of the series, there's only one actual known instance of Itadori fighting bullies, and that's in the chapter 163 flashback
so, gto's onizuka is part of the trope?
Goku in DB manga and DB/DBZ anime is Everything But typical.
that's probably the reason why all are copying him and still try to copy Goku
Not but all but fax chara
@@borquise What?
@@DragonBall-Manga-1984 I meant to say
"not all but fax bro"
Sorry
Simplistic neuance can make any trope into an iconic character
peak
yuji? what are you talking about.
yuji is NOT like what you are describing as a guy who is a antihero
This is basically part 1 Naruto
the only good shonen mc is ken kaneki the rest have the same boring personalities
Purely for the memes??? I knew kagurabachi was gonna be a goat by the end of chpt 1
Disagree. Yuji is one of the most boring protagonist. I think outside of fights i find him painfully uninteresting. Stop glazing a mc like yuji with minor character development.
Mid take, Yuji has great development in his own series, while jjk has little character dynamics the character moments we do get, for yuji for example are golden and highlight who he is as a character and his growth throughout the entirety of his journey
Ass take
Good take gege didn't manage to make him interesting nor represent his ideologies in a interesting way people ignore this just because he is suffered don't get me wrong his suffering is the best thing about him because it's make his get back better but other then that he isn't that enjoyable or funny or interesting
i disagree. He had enough development. Thats true that it stopped during culling game but still he passed great changes. He is just not screaming about his dream out loud
"minor character development" this is objectively wrong
