greg the type of guy to refrain from sleeping with a girl for 48 hours because he wants to let his central nervous system to recover
I'll take 48 months 😔
I think ur only supposed to finish once a month but you can do it as many times as u want
The type of guy to prevent you from getting injured
😂😂😂
😂
I tried this method and I have to say it did work quite well for me. I got results that I've never achieved before, the hardest part was staying out of the gym😂
Me too, bro, but it works and I am shredded AF currently
Na forreal when you get serious about working out it’s hard not to
I really wanna try this
Easy to believe the pump is building muscles ' - gains
The pump is awesome and looks like gains '
Of course, I did too in the past when I don't know any better '
😂
Tell that to bodybuilding guys that lift twice a day seven days a week and are jacked. Ps don't forget the jail birds that lift and workout everyday and all day.
Unfortunately for me I’m addicted to the gym and can’t help but go 5-6 days a week
You're good. You just have to adjust your volume and intensity. 3 Days per week is no gold standard. But if you train heavy near failure then yeah 3 days is best.
Heavy strength workouts 3 days a week and the 2 or 3 other days should be technique practice, loaded stretching and corrective exercises. Keep it up bro, getting stronger constantly physically and mentally!
That's fine just spilt the workouts like for example Mon & Thrusday hit chest & arms. Tues & Friday hit Back & Shoulders. Wednesday & Saturday hit Legs.
His major focus on other lifestyle
@@samir_1144 I agree
I don’t lift to increase strength. I lift to torture myself
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Thats a good one 😅
That's why i do upper body one day, next day lower body and third day rest.
It's optimal for basketball players? Does Your CNS fells good after 2 day of lifting?
@@makmak9411It's great but it can be hard to fit arms into the program.
@@G0LDENERA thanks bro
@@makmak9411 I have to ask you if you're trying to build muscle or just power. Specifity always comes first in any sport you want to get good at, and id you're into basketball, then I'm afraid that strength training isn't going to have much of an effect to your performance in the sport. How ever if you just want to build strength and muscle in general then I can provide you a program I promise will lead to results as long as you track your progress.
@@makmak9411Read my channel about page, I am a personal coach with 38 years of training experience. I can tell you anything about training. I've spent most of my life researching and reading about bodybuilding, powerlifting, weightlifting, arm wrestling even before the internet existed. I've come to a conculsion that nearly every bit of advice you hear on the internet is bullshit. From training, to nutrition to recovery I know it all based on my own experience and the ones I've coached.
I actually look forward to going to the gym and prefer to be there. Plus I’m an advanced lifter. I can see 3 days on one day off is best for me and not going to failure on every single set. As long as you manage fatigue/intensity/volume then you can tailor whatever routine you like.
Good but not everyone can go gym 5-6 times,
You can still go to the gym and work on mobility and do things like sauna 🧖🏽♂️ and swimming 🏊♂️
@@animesloversunited9069 Most people dont think they have enough time yet they have a Netflix subscription
@@bradosabe7559 because sometimes you can go to the gym while watching 3 kids lol…stop you tried to be smart but take an L…stupid post with two thing that don’t connect

I do full body everyday but only 2 sets of each same 9 exercises 10-12 reps.
Is that too much? As I'm keeping volume 10 sets a week for each body part. I love going to gym everyday. But sometimes I do feel fatigue as I'm on calorie deficit.
That's why you hit different muscle groups on different days
Exactly 😂
The nervous system doesn’t equal the same muscle because your tiring the entire nervous system
Taking atleast 2 rest days is the best IMO
the bro split is ok, but i noticed i been packing on a lot more muscle by doing full body every other day.
@@G0LDENERA sorry how did you get to that conclusion? I get in most of my isolation exercises and I've made good progress. But please share your bro science with me
@@G0LDENERA if those credentials are accurate just post a video and then I'll believe you. Also I do different variations of lifts. I might do flat bench one day, then do incline another day, then do dumbell flat another day. I'm not just slamming out the same workouts every other day. It's been working for me along with keeping a good diet and I'll probably continue until I think I need to switch it up
That’s what I noticed about myself actually. I went on Saturday and still felt sore and a little weaker on Sunday. But Monday rolls around and I’m ready for another session
If I want to lift, I lift. I don’t care that it’s not optimal and I’m still gaining.
We don’t care
@@creslodoescool facts mommy
Advice is pearls for swine when it comes to fools
@@creslodoescoolnobody was talking to you bruh
Same here. Everyone's jus different.
I agree with you Greg from experience. I train extremely hard and intense. And when I would get up the next day I would try to workout again with good sleep and eating but I felt burnt from the day before. Every other day changed my life. I feel restored and strong every session. Upper body rest lower body rest upper body etc….
Greg the type of a guy to eat 2 gummy worms at the same time so they don't have to watch each other get eaten
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Depends solely on your stage of lifting. Study has proven more frequency and volume is better for muscle hypertrophy and growth in novice lifters. I would say if you if are less than 2 years into lifting, you should be hitting every muscule TWICE a week, while eating at a calorie surplus. And only cutting when body fat is hitting over 15%
Once you enter the advance lifting stage and have a solid foundation - in order to continue meaningful progress, yes, it's probably best to slow down your compound lifts to a few times a week and to make sure you give your CNS a full couple days to completely recover to attempt that next PR
It depends on the split you do bruh.
Being in prison for 4 years, cannot relate. We workout till failure every single damn day o the week, went in stick, came out built. Do as you Like is what my buddy said
Makes me wanna go to prison
Whatever you believe will be the result. I’ve been working out every morning 5am-6:30am and noticed gains so 🤷🏾♂️
What you don’t realize is that half the days you worked out, it did a absolutely nothing for your muscles because they weren’t in a position to get stronger, so you just wasted your time when you could have been doing something more productive. Nice work.
@@tude6455 You will of course notice gains because your muscles will repair themselves, but what you won’t notice is that at least half your workouts will be a waste of time since your muscles are not in a position to further be stressed and then repaired during those workouts. So you will see the exact same gains whether you work out every day or every other day. Don’t waste your time
@@kieransoregaard-utt8 Now I’m not going to lie, if my back or shoulders are feeling unusually I will skip that day so I won’t push further and end up hurting myself. It happened before. But I don’t believe it not working out because I feel sorry for myself, the only time I will not workout is if I’m questioning a sore body part that can potentially injure. You may be right when it comes to muscle rest and importance of breaks and break days or whatever but that’s the mentality I apply to everything. Even with track and football before I graduated Highschool it was no rest days. Wasn’t 100% ofc in some cases and I know your right but it’s kinda a habit. Maybe I’ll take what you say into consideration only for physical activity which is what we’re talking about but it also helps to conquer the start of my day on a day to day basis
No Greg. You can train eveyday and just take a day off every 5th or so. Spread the muscle groups appropriately so that you work smaller groups on the 3rd day so that it’s a micro rest day or one that can not be so taxing on the body ie biceps abs shoulders
Im wondering why he didn’t mention that you can lift everyday if you cycle the muscle groups and intensity. Not hard to understand
@@cullensister99cycling muscle groups has nothing to do with it, this is about the central nervous system. You can't run a marathon on Monday, attempt a bench PR on Tuesday and a Deadlift PR on Wednesday
True, went from PPL working out 6 days a week to Full Body 3x a week and my strength has exploded. I’ve made more gains over this past year doing 3x a week than the previous 3-4 years. Easier to stick to as well and higher motivation.
Wow thanks for this as I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. When you did 3x full body, Did you make as much muscular gains as the ppl?
@@detective6099 I got way better results from full body 3x a week versus a 6 days a week PPL. More recovery, more motivation, more time to do other things besides live in the gym, better social life, better strength and muscular gains. It’s not even comparable. The biggest thing that led me to this unfollowing all influencers on gear and on only following naturals who know what they are talking about.
This is a very helpful comment thank you!
Yeah so many guys (natural guys too) recommend PPL but the majority of people will simply make better progress training less. It’s very easy to overdo training 6 days a week and make no progress.
@@seanchilling if I’m really bored I’ll go to the gym and just some extra volume on things that don’t get a lot of attention and can recover really easily and won’t affect the next days workout like rear delts, abs, biceps, etc. You can also do cardio if you want to because it will help with recovery by getting blood flowing through the entire body. But I usually just take these extra rest days to go for walks or meal prep. Monday Wednesday Friday has been so easy to stick to, I haven’t missed a day since December of last year whereas I don’t think I ever completed a full PPLPPL in a week for the first 5 years of working out.
I indeed noticed that. And in fact I feel my progress when I rest for 2 or even 3 days straight! I push harder and feel the gains I’ve been building, it’s so satisfying 🎉
***Laughs in C.T. Fletcher***
Andy Galpin would disagree with this. A lot of strength athletes and powerlifters lift heavy everyday. If you eliminate the eccentric portion you can lift heavy everyday, but those guys aren’t trying to pack on muscle
If he means by doing the same exact exercise everyday, for example, everyday is arm day and core day, then ofc you won’t develop good strength and muscle. Have a good workout plan that is most flexible to have each muscle parts to recover for a good 48 hrs
That’s true, however from personal experience 3 days weights and 2-3 days of cardio along with stretching 🙆♂️ and some mobility work is good
That’s why you do different muscles on different days
True plus gym is more enjoyable if you don't do it everyday
This is facts. I used to lift midweights everyday 7 times a week and my muscles would feel sore as fuck.
This is why I prefer upper and lower training programs it give my muscle opportunities to recover while i can work on other muscle group and I can’t stand taking rest for one day
Upper lower means you will be skipping neck, forearms, possibly abs and your arms will not get the required amount of intensity to recover properly. Sorry to break it to you, that just simply won't cut it for bodybuilding.
@@G0LDENERAWhat do you recommend?
That’s why I do a full body workout every 48 hours
Same here
That's why you train diff muscle groups
That’s why I do upper body lower body boxing/ karate training for burning cardio and take a break
Exactly! Muscle tears, repairs and grows while sleeping.
If we sleep every night then it repairs and grows. It’s ready for the next day.
Do push pull legs split
That way you can do every muscle about 2 times a week in a 3 day gap which will lead to optimal muscle growth
not needed There is no week the body has no clue....
HAH! tell this to middle and high school, we be running every day
For 20 mins
CNS recharge lol the broscience
With the pandemic going on, I'm not going to the gym anymore. Working out from home is way more sustainable for me
Lifting 3 times a week is key
I lift everyday but only approach PRs once every 4 weeks or so.
PR' once every 4 weeks or so is your first problem. Why not approach them every time you step your foot into the gym? Stop wasting time.
Entirely depends on volume and intensity. You can lift 7 days a week if you have all that figured out right
It's great that you headed to shorts. I find every information you share unique and really useful!
"Prison inmates have entered the chat"
😂😂
This is only half true, going to the gym everyday isn’t gonna mess up your central nervous system. Doing very intense workouts will though, like going for maxes every week or something.
I remember the Greg type of guy jokes I would watch his videos just to read the comments sorry dude it's just funny
Ive been on a push-pull-legday split for a couple years now and I always give a day after at least one of my splits. Ive seen constant and consistent gains….much more than the people at my gym who go daily.
A lil trenbalogne sandwhich and you’re good to go in 12 hours
Why does this guy feel like he’s giving a fourth grade presentation, after getting all of his info from Wikipedia
Imagine if construction workers that work 12 hr shifts followed this advice. They’d never get anything done 🤣
Got truth in it. 48 hours rest is the best, especially when we do heavy compound lifts such as squat
I don’t ever take a break from training, i’m up at 6 doing cardio and during the day I do an hour and a half of weightlifting mostly light weight but higher reps then do a 30 minute swim after 5 days a week
What if I start a job moving furniture in a warehouse? Do I gotta tell the boss I can't work every other day
4 times per day is my current regimen
definitly I say wait an additional day mon thursday sunday
All you have to do is be very strategic with the muscle groups that you're targeting there is no reason why you can't lift six days a week and have one rest day
It's no reason to train 6 days a week
Kinobody - Don't lift everyday
Me - who's lifting weights every single day to hide my feelings.
🥲
Heavy 1 day, light the next, when training strength don't go to failure, when training muscle go to failure, don't train the same muscle group in back to back days......
From power training u are recovering about 24-72h and after speed workout about the same time.
3 days 1 off and 2 days and 1 off is the best for me atm. I use legdays to cover the gap between arms and chest and back.
You can workout back>chest>legs>day off you do shoulder and Cavs since they are small groups and you can make it fast 40 mins and on the next two days you can do full arms on Friday and hamstrings with quad metabolic stimulus on Saturday with more drops sets, parcial reps etc.
So I did try whole body workouts 3 days per week. I did not lose any muscle and it helped not get burned out mentally. I would recommend to anyone who has been thinking about it.
True 💪
I feel 5 days is good ..when i go down to 2 or 3 days i am not progressing...strength remains same...sometimes even decrease...so i bumbed up my volume now increased strength...so if u r not having results following him go to normal 4 or 5 day split.. do key lifts twice a week increase volume progress follows
I used to do PPLR for the last 3 years and just recently switched to PPLR but with a rest day in-between each day. My body feels better for sure and my lifts are going up faster. Cant speak on muscle growth cause im on a strength building plan but can say it feels much better
People with a proper training split: is this some kind of full body joke that I'm too ppl to understand?
The goat 🐐 Been following this guy for over 5 years! Never taken his course but his advice has helped me be at me leanest and strongest. I know a lot of you doubt him Bc his advice sounds counter productive at times but his advice works guys! (If you’re natural of course, but pretty sure those on the saucelet would benefit too)
Underrated 🐐
Do you think lifting heavy 3 days a week is fine? I'm a beginner. Thanks
@@laolualuko9417 beginner is better if you go full body, with higher frequency and volume. With lighter weights, once you know all the movements, and technique you can switch over to split. and heavy weights.
Source: trust me bro
Yeah bro for millions of years we’ve evolved such that our CNS needs an arbitrary 48 hours to “recharge” after intense physical exertion. Are you serious?
The average person does not need the ideal amount of rest that Olympic sprinters do. This is terrible advice for 99% of people
“Hello”
~ Creatine
Also the risk of injury goes way down.
Thank u….i was worried maybe I should do it everyday, I felt lazy taking day off in between.
what if i lift weights for 5days straight and then do 2 rest days?
Intense sprints and lifting are two different things. Average person lifting at the gym isnt taxing your nervous system.
Greg the type of guy to show his crotch to make a full point
The fact that this has nothing to do with what he said makes it funnier😂
THEY WON'T LET ME LEAVE. THEY TRAPPED ME IN THE SQUAT RACK BY WRAPPING ELASTIC BANDS AROUND THE FRAME. I'M BEING FORCED TO STAY IN THE GYM AND LIFT EVERY DAY. MY CNS WILL NEVER RECOVER AND I WILL BE DOOMED TO A LIFE SENTENCE OF MUSCULAR ATROPHY. PLEASE SEND HELP IMMEDIATELY. MY GAINS ARE IN PERIL.
Guess my routine is balanced enough
Mike mentzer would be proud
For me, legs push pull every day is the only way I can maintain consistency. Then I just go heavy low rep or light high rep depending on how I feel. Doing like 3-9 total sets max each day not including warm up. I love it and it feels so free and enjoyable.
If i went heavy on a pushday either high intensity or volume my pull workout suffered, i think if doing that the optimal way is p/l/p then a rest day.
Totally agree.
Fuck when I lift heavy on bench... I will be weaker for atleast 3 or 4 days.
Could you do boxing or cardio like sprints on the days u don’t lift?
Greg does so himself too.
Greg the type of guy to raw incline press 3 plates in his mansion
The mansion belongs to his parents, they got rich off of real estate lol
Now what if I lift a light weight and do it 100 times everyday
Why is it that I feel fresh the next day after a day of heavy lifting oh yeah don’t believe everything on the internet
Should be called why you shouldn’t go heavy every day. I’m a strongman competitor. We do regular lifts, overhead press, deadlift, ect ect 3 days a week. One day we play with the strongman toys. Day off. Then strongman toys again.
Very true
3 upper body rest days legs Monday weekends off you’ll feel great
I took a week and I was leg pressing big weight for my weight like it was nothing
I Do a 5x5 on every compound lift, and i do 6 compound lifts a week (SP, SP, BP, BP, Sqt, DL) workout 7 days a week average of 120 minutes. Also do 5x8 on accesories.
Its very tough and its true that the day after a heavy back or squat day my bench would be slightly reduced (sore back attributes to weaker bench too). But i see gains everywhere. Its alot of work but requires 185+ grams of protein a day spaced out 35x5 every 3 hrs. Also require creatine fully saturated, bcaas and vitamins. But hey it works…
This is dependent on goals. I lift everyday and it works very well for me in terms of muscular growth and endurance. I also lift twice a day most days. You are all capable of pressing weight everyday if you want to. 😅 none of this is to say you can’t achieve results with almost any split. Gotta work hard and stay consistent. Ramble over lol.
thats why power lifters train 3 days a week as they train nesr enough thr same muscle groups but bodybuilders train 5 days a week as they go mid weigjt and different muscle groups
Chest on Monday, chest on Wednesday
"Fully strong" u could of re worded this lmfao.
Don't care. Nucleus overload for the win
It doesn't cause cns fatigue. Greg is talking about full workouts
And injuries
Yass team 3d alpha gang 🔥
what about the fact that for most people(power lifters) strength has really nothing to do with getting bigger ? as we are after hypertrophy with higher reps and lighter weight to gain muscle size not strength
What if your not lifting very heavy?
My big brother, Seven-Figures, says hi!
Working out almost everyday actually improves "Work Stamina"..you'll be able to work Hard for a Longer time..it's the difference between a "Hard Worker" and a "Complaining Worker"!
If I need to lose weight, is it ok or even good to do cardio on the off days to compliment the weight lifting?
I only struggle in summers I'm fine lifting everyday during winters
I think everyone reacts differently tbh because 6 days a week works best for me. Ive tried anywhere from 2-5 days a week and all were less effective. Going for an hour a day 6 days a week, getting 8 hours of sleep, eating 200G’s of protein, and backfilling micronutrients has given me the best results
Literally does full body workout on Monday skateboarding same day back workout later Later that evening rock climbing 😅 I do this sometimes then my body says k it's time to take week off
I do Monday, Wednesday, then all out on Friday
Everyday is bench day
No. I do what i want
Going to try it m8
don’t this video is bollocks, the CNS doesn’t need to recharge, if it did u wouldn’t be able to move ur body
No. They don’t do more than 3 heavy sprint training per week bc it is the same muscles you would target and it takes time in between to recover. Ofc you can go heavy day after day if you have proper split. The right nutrition and sleep.
