Ronnie James DIO had an amazing gift and talent. What a voice and charisma on stage! DIO was magnetic.'Lock Up The Wolves' is my favourite DIO studio album. I remember buying tickets to see DIO in support of 'Lock Up The Wolves' with Yngwie MALMSTEEN was the opening act. It was unfortunate that Warner Brothers didn't fully promote 'Lock Up The Wolves' given it is an excellent studio album.

Brent Alan Adam Landgrave, I’m with Poojock Mcplop. I love RJD, but this song isn’t even that good. In fact, I find it quite boring. Revisit “Holy Diver” and “Last in Line” and you’ll hear so much more spirit. (I’m biased toward Vivian Campbell, too.)
Can we all just agree that lock up the wolves was the last decent album.. Nothing else from 90s really. Stranger H. Was a big turnoff. Until Magica and Master of the Moon
Lock Up The Wolves is easily the best Dio album. Very underrated. Great guitar work and Ronnie sounds the best of any time in his career. Bad ass album! Glad he made videos of my favorite 2 songs Wild One and Hey Angel

Your opinions may be worth something in your big brain, but you have no say in anything objective about Dio and the state of music development in the 80s and 90s. You were still growing up. LOCK UP THE WOLVES was an attempt by Dio's camp to grab ahold of the hair metal binge that wracked the rock movement in the mid-to-late 80s. And it was not a good look or sound for Dio. He relinquished his medieval branding, his mythical lyrics - and his wizard sleeves! When he eventually gravitated back toward that ethos (with Strange Highways and Dehumanizer and the band Heaven & Hell) he was back in his element and his forte.
