- In this video I talk about my opinion on why I think Gaijin is failing to seize a massive opportunity in front of them as well as regarding the community's response to the recent economy changes, and lastly, my theory on why Gaijin doesn't communicate well with the player base.

I think parts of this video are very good. Review bombing does affect new player signups, but at the same time, if this is the only way to get the game to a better state, then so be it. Reviews should be changed back to positive if/when the changes happen. I don't want to see the game die, however, with how bad the economy is, the game will die a slow and painful death already once people realize just how bad the grind is.
I definitely agree. My concern is gaijin is so money driven like all companies are, that if enough people quit and new players don't sign, they lose the revenue stream and without a revenue stream, there is no reason to invest in the product to make it better.
And given their decision so far, I hope they don't want the game to end but hard to not see that as a possibility...mainly because I still have so many trees to unlock🤣
@@RoneK_Actual Having played this game since beta, Warthunder is probably at it's worst in it's history. So I'm not sure any of the revenue was used to make things "better" instead used to create new revenue streams which are then used for the same purpose. Gaijin is more focused on new short term players than long term and while new vehicles are added to the game, it doesn't make the gamer overall "better." Gaijin likely tracks player spend and time played and leverages this to continue pushing more premium content. If we look at some trees there are more packs and premiums in some ranks that actual tech tree tanks...
say about review bombing what you will, they had it coming and im glad that the community finally agreed on pulling the same rope. they made the economy and grind constantly worse over the years while also adding tons of new vehicles.
i get it. for gaijin grind equals money and keeps the players busy, generating more income. but they went overboard a long time ago and now they reap what they sow.
regarding future new players: even the present new players we have in game right now will need years to reach rank V+ unless they buy premium vehicles, which is exactly the opposite of "You can't give a player everything at once, because it will overwhelm and make the game very difficult for them and they will just leave it either immediately or almost immediately". they contradict their own principles.
and probably most wont stay that long anyways. i dont care about future players. i care about who plays the game today. only if the current customers are satisfied, the company deserves to continue their business. just as a company needs to make money, it needs to make satisfying products. we dont owe them or any hypothetical future players anything. its not good or bad, just business.
I don't disagree with you. I do think it's ignorant to ignore the reality of consequences of not bringing in new players. With no new players, there is no future revenue stream. With no new revenue streams, no reason to invest in the product. You care about the players today? Well the game might not be around as long without new players. Like you said, it's business.
Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
very poggers vid, and i totaly agree with you
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
I have 2000hrs in-game and I have spent at least $50 in that time, not because I don't want to spend money on WT, but because I really don't have a lot of disposable income to sink into the game. The first part of this vid really hit home coz I've introduced friends to the game who initially love it but aren't able to stick around coz they feel disheartened by the ludicrous amount of vehicles in the game that they might never play coz they can't monetise into the game. On the other hand I can't realistically expect gaijin to not monetize the game since it's a really good venture they have on their hands. I totally agree with you on the bootling of player potential. I think they can give players more pocket friendly monetisation options they can grow the player base and broaden the base for revenue streams. @timsvariety did a thorough breakdown of the issue for those who really want to read up on it
You summarized the whole issue pretty well. I am curious to see how much they cave to the players.
Well said, thank you brother. Hey have a great Memorial day.
Thank you! Of course!
I think it's important that a company listens to the community, but doesn't follow orders. I'd be "transparent" (*) about the listening - openly give credit to a handful of constructive forum/reddit posts, videos or whatever - these arguments convinced us to change direction the following way. Should be a habit in "good times", too, not only when a shtstorm hits. But never officially give in to polls, review bombs or other quantitative stuff - that would signal I'm following commands.
* Lie if necessary...
I agree to an extent. A very large portion of the player base is under 25. Young people haven't experienced the world enough or have had enough time to make a lot of concrete objective opinions about everything. I would worry that if Gaijin publicly listens to certain people, that it will come to a point where the community will want more and more and more. Such as "give and inch and they take a mile."
@@RoneK_Actual Well, I wouldn't listen to certain people, but to convincing arguments. I'd try to not give credit to the same persons over and over again. Try to make clear that the quality of the contribution was convincing, not the big name or number of likes.
Some people will always be unhappy. No matter what you do, some will misunderstand it. And a few things you really really want to do (e.g. earn money...) will be unpopular anyways. If you try to stop all controversy, moaning and whining, you're going to fail. But if you're seen as an unapproachable despot by everybody, you'll fail, too. Then you have to give on to the mass pressure eventually and set the worst precedent imaginable -- decisions can be forced by action against the company.
Well thought out comment. I completely agree with you on that.
How do you change the red kill message and can you change the sound for getting a kill? Is it something you can edit in the code or something
I used this video as a tutorial! ruclips.net/video/DHX20n0Kntg/видео.html
People should just go see how predatory raid shadow legends business model is.. You'd find that this game isn't that bad when it comes to the things they try to charge you for. I am two months new to the game and have a few premiums for a few countries, but it was disappointing to see how expensive repairing tech vehicles are and the rewards that come from it. I can understand why people are upset about it.
Yeah for sure I have no doubt. I mean I'm just as upset because I still have so many tech trees to finish. Even two years ago it wasn't nearly this bad.
Well, partially communtity are creditable for bad economy. There was big economy change around year ago when community voted for lowering Win rewards in favour of raising Lose rewards. From 1.4/0.6 multiplier split to 1.2/0.8 you have now. This was easily worst economy change in history of war thunder, but no one speaks about it. Not even saing that reverted change was objectively better for player base in general mostly hurting good players who never had problems with money to start with and their only concern was RP witch was suppose to be lowered.
Yeah makes sense. Raising the reward for losing only encourages people to not play to win even more. I am a huge advocate for non serious players to play arcade and more serious players play RB. That way less serious players don't come into RB an expect their hand to be held and made easier.
@@RoneK_Actual not only that, but also bigger percent on bigger number give you much more than smaller recent cuts from smaller number (because in battle your team won you in general do better than in lost one)
reviwbombing was the right choice:
gaijin betrayed us players trust and getting trust back is a long term investment from theyr side.
if the reviewbombing right now keeps new players from joining, thats a good thing RIGHT NOW.
gaijin needs to feel the heat and pressure RIGHT NOW, cuz they fucked up several times unscaved.
dont know how other players get going on new games, but i look at what the negative reviews are about and if the problem is resolved.
heck u can moast of the time watch a video on yt about that issue.
u can even see when all these negativ reviews where posted on steam and then look on the net what had happened at that time.
so in my point of view that the "reviewbombing was a bad thing" is just the other side of the coin.
yes it brings problems with itself, but these problems would have gaijin faced even if we didnt do it.
new players would hit 5.7 or 6.0 and see what kind of grind u need for these and probably quitt like the part of the comunety that values theyr time.
dont make an elephant out of it if u havnt considered what would have happened if we didnt reviewbomb the shite out of gijin
Don't make an elephant out of it? I think what is going on now is unprecedented. Therefore it is a elephant lol. I am not disagreeing with what you said. I was simply discussing what I think. If current players leave, and new players join, there goes cash flow. With no cash flow, there is less incentive to invest in the product. And given how business driven Gaijin is, that would disasterous as well.
good video
Thank you! I appreciate you wathcing!
Ok...ok i agree a little about the review bomb, but what the player community can do if the gaijin never listened us before, how many times they tried to censor us cause we're arguin about the economy, so many forum threads that are been erased or players baned cause of it and like someone said here how much grind to get in rank V or plus.
I have 290 hour in this game cause i lost my old account, and with this free account i can't get throu the german tiger h1 in tech tree cause SL an Rp, but when i started playint with U.S.A tanks i got in rank 3 in what... a week i think
...
And other thing to put in this table, this is a free to play game after all, so it's based on player community, we never asked for power over the game, just a fair game, i say this cause i follow this pain in the ass a long time ago, and the player base with a great difficulty have been heard in rare cases with an normal pleding.
I understand. On my other video a commenter made a great point regarding how the F2P business model is doomed to fail over time anyways. And that since WT has been around for so long, it is finally coming to fruition.
Gaijin is perfect example, all their other games are mostly dead and now their develop mobile war thunder, it all comes from expenses of War thunder P2W player base. Don't get me wrong it's okay to make profit and develop new things, but over the years they pushed it over the edge.
With their business model i would expect to have highway to top tier (around 40-60h) with premium vehicle/account, but in reality you still have to spend hundreds of hours and it has gotten worse over the years.
For sure. I think it is less about the actual time it takes to get to the top tier but how enjoyable it is. If it takes me a couple hundred hours to fill out a tree, I am OK with that. But at no point should I have to suffer silver lions being so small. I should not be forced to buy premium, just to make SL.
He already wrong warthunder has admitted.
Not arsenal 😂
