the storms in WoWS are great, they move over the map and arent permanent, you can avoid them or use them for your benefit. you also can shoot inside from the outside if you are still in viewrange etc.
WowS does so many things better, IMO. At the very least, WoT should implement Co-op mode for those occasions where you just want a quick bit of fun and blow stuff up.
At least, keep the Arty to see and be able to hit the tanks inside these zones. In usual game as well, whereas all tanks have a limited range of view, Arty can see and hit tanks that have been spotted.
It's preposterous that, ouside the storm, you can't see others within it, yet you can easily see a spotted tank on the opposite side of the weather circle. 🤯🤯🤯
I honestly think most maps need to be completely reworked. Half of them are just a 3 way corridor where you sit in a hull down position and get punished if you push a flank. I've been in positions where either team is just stuck looking at each other for minutes. Sniper TDs, light tanks and even sniper mediums are left to die because there is no place for them to go. There is no room to flank on most maps. Generally because of the map design, but also because of how fast games have become.
What? those redline camper f*cks that shoot from the back. Especially those meds that wouldn't even take the role of scout if the lights are gone. The biggest f*cking wankers the lot of them. Nah, they can have this crap.. serves them well.
This mechanic produces the most braindead gameplay, just play heavy, rush in the zone, whoever got more tanks in the zone wins. No spotting, no crossfire, just nonsense
It would be the last nail in the coffin for any tanks apart from rush tanks. You basically rush to the zone kill all enemy vehicle in it without getting fired at by td or arty and after that you just steamrole the tds that cant do anything because there is no position on most cards that allow to defend against a rush from those zones.
The current gameplay is one of 2 things. 1: Camp at your side of the map, whoever peaks corner or ridge first get shot from 10 different sides and lose. 2: Everyone goes hill, whoever has more tanks with no turret weakpoint wins. Not braindead at all. At least this weather effects allows actuall fights and push. But sure the placemet, size and acutall power of the weather effects could be adjusted.
So players that are outside of the fog, can see vehicles on the other side of it, as long as they are in render distance, despite there being something in your line of sight that blocks vision, but you can’t see what’s inside that thing, despite your view has to cross less fog, or dust or whatever. This is stupid
yeah i mean why they didn't do this on temporary time. and affecting all area map and not in small zones like that. this event just creating a only a small area like "no tanks zone" which only meta op armor tanks or swarming team easily dominating the area.
It's another brain child of War Gaming. By firing more shots, wasted in the storm, it's another way for WG to nickel and dime more money out of the players. If there is a way to f*** up the game more ..... don't worry WG will find it.
I must admit, I like that WG is actually thinking and testing out new mechanics. The idea of foggy areas, smoke and dust clouds seems all right and fitting for the game, just how it is implemented is game breaking, there is no strategic value to it right now. It's not fun to play or play against, it's just a map inside the map, which makes no sense for the gameplay. - reducing the view range inside sounds alright - also increasing the camo inside sounds good, so it's a big fat bush in some way - making them timed sounds like the best, turn them off after a while, or start them from random events or after a certain time to change the gameplay, maybe even multiple times per battle even at pseudo random times
i think they should be able to move around, like in World of Warships with the rain storm moving in onto the map and you can go into them, it should sorta be like that that, i do think an idea is somthing from world of tanks console where every tank is still spotted, but they are not highlighted, if you know war thunder then you know what i mean
Wargaming needs to put their effort into balancing maps without adding all these random effects. 90% of maps now are either 3-4 corridors, or 90% all open with no cover. Making any plays outside of hulldown plays are heavily punished and it makes every map stale. They need to find a middle ground, and bring back the older maps that have just been thrown to the wind and wasted.
They did have some really great spots on maps ....... so that had to change. Another thing WG had to f*** up. If it ain't broke ..... don't worry ...WG will "fix it".
This comes from world of warships. Sometimes storms pass by. But this game is too small for that. If we grab 10 battleships en tie them together, we have your tiny tanks map.
Yes but with the storms they seem a LOT more dynamic than the ones in WoT because they sweep across the map and your concealment decreases the further from the center you are. Then there's Typhoons which limit visability to knife fighting range for 8 minutes but does so for everyone on the field. These 'storms' are static and just sit there the whole round instead of moving across the battlefield.
WOWS is trash now. Lost most of it's CCs and the plater base is plummeting. I quit many months ago and have not looked back. WOT is on it's way to the end now.
They are trying to find cheap ways of slowing down games instead of growing a pair and doing what is really needed which is looking at the matchmaker, fixing or even bring newer better maps out and balance premium tanks in the game.
@@jo-fe9mbyeah, the +-2 system is obselete. They just need to put a +-1 so u get only tier 7 and 9 as a tier 8 but the tier 7 cannot go against tier 9. This will be better than most things they done during years
If it makes sense...... WG can't do it. If it'll fleece more money from players .... then it'll go to the top of the list. WG couldn't organize a fire drill in a phone booth.
These "fog" areas should simply improve your camo rating by some percentage and reduce your view range by some similar percentage. Not this in/out, see/not see based on where you are. You cant even proxy spot someone inside the fog while you are outside and be only feet apart
At this point, anything new and sometimes radical updates to World of tanks are needed to get the game moving, the weather zones (in my opinion) could be added to the game but with a few things that needs to be fixed: first is that if an enemy is on the border of the weather zone and you are within 50 meters of them, the 50 meter spotting applies and everyone spots each other whether they are in different zones or not, second is that the zones should not be static, like the zones should shift or drift across the map so that it doesn’t always appear on crucial areas, Third, as QuickyBaby said, they should appear randomly or when there is stalemate happening like the random events
I agree 100% with QB, I think that speeding the game up is the last thing this game needs! There’s nothing better than getting in them longer match’s and are so close to either side winning that make this game what it is. I honestly hope that these features stay well away.
I am..was mainly a td player, when i started this game, but I skipped most of this year in Wot. It'm just tired , to try to shoot the 3 penetrable pixel in the front of the op heavies all the time, while slowly all the maps are converted to take out spot and snipe positions. It's just not fun. Playing with and control the vision is so important in the game, to have those rare epic comebacks or heroic last stands is impossible when the whole battle is decided in a 50 meter area in 2 minutes.
2035: the game has evolved into 15v15 tier 10 prenium Objects with 4 guns and wheels that soak up 150mm heat shells. The IS-7 goes 150 km/h up hill and has been buffed to have 450 mm of effective spaced armor all around. 30 players with bond equipment are left on eache servers, they play an average of 120 hours per week. Each game is over before you load up.
This game mode also destroys light tanks. Just had a game on Fjords with 3 lights per side. Our side had a total assistance of 569, the enemy team's lights had total of 0! Light tanks are already playing World of tanks on hardmode, this just breaks them.
Just punishes Light Tanks, Sniper TDs, and Arty for no real reason. WG already continually nerfs sniper lines of fire and yet they make these big static zones around the most important parts of the map. Westfield is absolutely the worst offender.
Yes it does and this sounds great to me. Punishing boring clickers (arty and sniper TDs) is awesome. Removing them from the game would be better of course, but we all know this is not gonna happen. Nerfing light tanks isn't great though, maybe light tanks should be able to see through the sand storms.
@@Jan_Vogelsang Sorry, but tank diversity is what makes the game interesting. Nobody likes getting hit across the map but it's a part of the game and history of tank design. You can't just remove entire classes of tank from playing the game just because they're a little bit annoying. If they wanted to make these classes unplayable, should they not just change the map designs entirely? Too many heavy tank players are happy with this change without being able to see how it feels for the other side.
@@Abracalyn You don't need to be hyper realistic. War is hell. thats not enjoyable. Nobody wants arty and the only reason why arty mains play it is a) theyre fat and lazy b) they are paralegics and can only use one hand
@@theb190experience9 They have changed the maps to decrease TD's usefulness and nerfed arty's HE rounds. WOT wants ADHD, run around the map in light tank battles.
@@leeblake3989 I hope you know that if you like slow paced/sniping/tactical gameplay you always have War Thunder on the table (and it's free) If wargaming wants to keep the game alive then they have to distance themselves from WT, otherwise they will lose most of the playerbase to them
@@leeblake3989 To be fair, I think the overpowered TDs added are damaging to the game, and having played with high powered arty I certainly don’t miss it. I want tactical play, not sit in one spot and wait for someone to drive in front of my gun.
I have done about 20 games so far in this game mode and it's already a struggle. Battles inside the weather zones are chaotic and fast. What the players who stay outside do is largely irrelevant. The idea is fine, the implementation is terrible.
no such thing as spamming gold you can either choose to buy cheap shells with low pen and complain about rng or just buy the more expensive credit rounds and do better
@ElijahTrahan-l9s We are well aware that WG has moved away from skill to buying ez mode through gold and premium tanks. Every change in the game reinforces that. There was a time when armor in this tank game mattered. Now, players just pay to negate armor. It is sad.
What? All anyone does on the current maps is spam gold at each others' turrets from 150m because it's impossible to push. Good luck flanking a heavy tank when there are 8 TD players licking windows across the entire red line.
It's really concerning as well when the zones have been placed where lights initially go to spot. So not only are you making lights even worse than they are but also letting heavies play in light positions. Unless they straight up made lights ignore the fog mechanics, this is another massive nerf for lights we do not need. A shame because I also find the concept interesting.
Local Weather should've just been done the same, but without the extra effects and twists to the mechanics. Kind of the same with night maps. No need to twist and overcomplicate mechanics... Also, why is Recon Mission affecting overall stats? I remember playing, and my MoE went up/down while just playing this mod. Even got that 3rd Tank Ace medal for one of my tanks. I mean alright, but I don't remember Recon Mission affecting General stats...
They have opened it that all the states and BP work in recon, guess they also need to see if these events will also work with marking and things like that -
Cool concept, bad implementation. My idea for a change of the mechanic: Get rid of the "wall", no mini-arenas. Make it so concealment/vision is effected depending on the distance of the weather between you and each target. Random numbers example; there's 100m of fog between you and an enemy, your ability to see them is reduced by 50%. There's only 50m of fog, it's now 25%.
What makes fog and fire unnecessary? They're just as normal and natural weather as rain and sandstorms. Not to mention the ideas; being inside a smoke cloud could slowly decrease crew efficiency (co2 poisoning), being in smoke could fog up your vision systems, etc. Edit: I feel like these implementations would deserve/need their own new maps, old maps weren't just made with new additions in mind
It's yet more shit WG have decided to introduce that no one asked for and few want whilst ignoring what the player base would like to see. Even a new map of bringing back an old map would be nice!
I totally agree QB.This snowballs the games even more. I afsked WG why they keep making this game faster and faster and only got useless BS back. It is stupid and NOT FUN AT ALL. Drop it ! or at least make so we can turn it off in the settings !
I still think that would be a great mechanic that allows tanks to actually fight for once, but the placemet, size and way it works needs some tweaking. Especially with tanks dissapearing right in front of you etc.
I like the idea of having CHOICES, so Yes, im up for this change, will it be an optional battle mode? IDK but sure hope so for every one elses preferences
100% agreed! And you forgot to mention that will make it impossible to do some missions with arty, light tanks and TDs those are not optional you have to play those tanks.
To be honest, I think this is an interesting concept, just not well executed. These areas essentially should create ambush opportunities, but instead they change fundamental game mechanics that are not meant to be changed. It's a great idea to have a sandstorm that reduces visibility from outside; looking in and from the inside;looking outward. It just shouldn't be bound to set zones. Proxy spotting for example is now being ignored by deciding to retreat within the confines of a sandstorm, that's not how it should work. It should be a gradual transition specifically finetuning viewranges and camo values. Alternatively this shouldn't be a map-change, but an entirely new fundamental that new maps are built around, because the current maps will be ruined in the way they play, if this stays as is.
Every game I've played in this mode has been boring clown fest so far. Everybody just rushes into the zone, and if your tank can't play in close quarters, you're f'*ed. Makes already the weakest classes even weaker (if not completely irrelevant). Hope this just stays in recon mode and doesn't go into random battles.
Quicky for an average player like me that hovers around the 50-51% score the majority of my games are snowball massacres. If I play 30 games on average 20 are sub-5-minute games where one team obliterates the opposition. This new mechanic means I will be back in the garage quicker and will probably save me on gold since it won't bounce as much as in a normal game. 😀
I played around 20 battles in the mode, the main issue I feel is the hard cut off on the edges of the weather zones, if vision was simply halved by being inside regardless of where you were viewing from it could be cool. But definitely should be an option like random events.
This is stoopid AF! Thank you WG, finally get an Xmas season without wasting money on boxes. Good luck with adding more broken Gold crap and obnoxious gameplay, the shills will love it.
The storm weather would be welcome if it was only for ascetics visually they are appealing just they should get rid of the weird mechanics that come with them
This mode is bullshit. WOT just want faster games = more money. They removed so many bushes You cant even play TD any more. And nerf of artillery. They dont care about playing the game in your class and the role. WOT just want fast games, and they dont care about long strategic games where the fun is. Like in old days. WOT destroy the game those fast games. Sick trend and the joy goes little by little.
I think if there would not be even spoting, like the tank never disappears but it wont get highlited would make this mechanic and the whole game more realistic and maybe better
LT game is already quite irrelevant on those stupid corridor maps, you have to be a really good player, and/or pretty lucky if you want to enjoy your LTs.
How they can test a so shity idea: natural, play Grille 15 and you will notice they are full of shity ideas. Now you notice that good armor hull down monster are far better than snipers in this game? Man is not the fog of dust, it is the game itself: the weather just make it more clear, more noticeable.
As someone who enjoys sniping with TDs, this is a game killer for me. If this goes mainstream, I'll either have to drastically change how I enjoy the game or give up and find another game for my past time. :(
@@jakobgrimminger or they could just rebalancee all the shitty paper TDs so you can be agresive in them, right now most paper tank destroyers suck ass appart from select few that actually can play agresivelly (shptk is great agresive TD), it has to do with gun handling, accuracy and shitty pen and also lack of weakspots on most heavy armored vehicles, try to play agresively with skorpion G, well you cant cause gun aint hitting shit on the move and your bloom is enormous and it doesnt help the fact that TDs cant mount vstabs, which kills this class. My solution would be make the camo worse so it incetivizes players to move more, buff the dispersion values on move/traverse/gun traverse tremendously while also decreasing the aim time and buffing penetration on some rounds (grille 15 is great example from 334 to 370 at least) this change along with some HP buff for paper TDs could enable TDs to play far more agresively
Oh no, one less TD player who plays from their base with one hand and makes 85% of the map unpushable so he can get one shot of damage every game and pad his 47% win rate.
with how hard the 260 missions are already and constantly getting more difficult, these weather effects might make some of them statistically impossible
If this comes in and you are not allowed to turn it off, i will stop playing. I enjoy the part of picking a medium, heavy, td or light and play in different ways.
I played this, honestly the absolute garbage feature of enemies being invisible if theyre in the fog is really dumb but I believe it will still be changed and adjusted
As if WG hadn't already ruined WOT, I salute you for trying to make content for this game, I've lost interest after jungles himself left the game as well
in the current form, i will stop playing if this goes into the random queue. it feels really bad. the weather event is esentially a very tiny map in a map, and not suitable for lights arties and tds wo armour. They should focus on biger maps, or do things like weather reduces top speed and resistances and some viewrange, and then for the whole map, not just a part
About 20 games in now. Seeing some interesting possibilities with TD's but arty is fracking useless now. Zoomies in lights and knuckledraggers in heavies benefit, but arty and TD's take yet another hit.
Yep. I think it is the worst change in WoT ever. I played about 20 games. 3-5 min 15:1 games usually. It sucks. Why not just make rainy map with reduced visibility on entire map?
There has been worse updates, besides, this is just testing. A rainy map with reduced visibility sounds nice though, I think they tested that with the night mode which was really cool. I wish you could use tanks headllights on that mode.
War gaming isn’t stupid, they know what they’re doing. They’ve been pushing these 5 minute games for last 7 years. At least they’re trying to get an opinion from us here.
I think the idea of limited visibility isn't that bad but it needs to be adjusted. Also maybe SPGs should have access to a limited amount of smoke shells. You could encourage spg players by giving them assist bonus whenever an ally is hitting enemy when their tank is hidden in such smoke cover. Also, the smoke coverage area would be much smaller, like I dunno radius of 10m for the largest caliber gun and proportionally smaller for lower caliber guns
I tried the RECON mode and have mixed feelings. Yes, it will render certain tank classes less relevant and it does present some frustration while playing. I wish WG would add the visual elements of rain, fog, or sandstorms but reduce the impact on vision (yes, I know it's less realistic but WG doesn't always stand for historical or play accuracy?) The proposed mode is great experienced players who love to brawl, a POV that WG seems to be moving towards with the recent map changes, but hinders sniping and spotting. MY QUESTION TO WG: is this such an important change when the community for years has asked for dynamic matchmaking? I guess it's a matter of priorities.
i agree with you this mechanic will ruin the game for old and ogs players , but at the same time wargaming should add something new to the game the best way to get this to work is to add it as a separate game mode same as onslaught so whoever likes to play it can and at the same time random battles stay intact this mode could be the result of wargaming trying to bring new players or old players that don't play much if at all , that are looking for fun and new game experience that's just my honest opinion so the summery is : having this mode as a separate game mode outside the random battles for the people that like to play it or experience it is a good idea forcing it in the random battles is a bad idea , that's all
In my opinion WG are adapting to the world going faster and faster, people can't keep their minds for long in games. The tik tok era is here, so WG wants to please the new generation.
Hello. In my opinion, this innovation in the game should be as it is now, be a separate mod, and be played by people who prefer it. It would be a big mistake if they did it in the random battles.
18:30 How would you expect WG to take youre opinion seriously if you only played like once or twice on a new scenario? I think 10 battles is the minimum for someone to be able to make a fair and correct judgment on the matter and have a respectable opinion
I play mainly Lights and TD's and I knew within 2 games that it wrecked my gameplay and enjoyment. 8 more games would not have made a difference to my opinion.
I've had so much fun playing in this mode that this is a little shocking to hear. It's not going to kill anything but it is going to cause a complete rework of how you play with those zones in effect. can you run a heavy into the middle of those areas and be invisible from the outside, but you're also stuck in there with whoever shows up and at close range so if it's two meds or a light flanking you all the time good luck! I love having to come up with new strats and this will absolutely force that.
Im a TD-player and i dont play the game as often like i used to do. Now days i just play when Frontline is on and few battles after it. Becouse WG have made this gam no fun anymore, battles are to fast already and NOW they come up with this!!! OMG WG WHY are you DOING this to us TS-players??? And TY QB for being with us players on this!!!
This is the cheapest way WG can change map tactics without introducing all the reserve maps they refuse to implement. I think it's a nice way to change how maps are played so it's not so mindless, mundane, and repetitive on the same old maps. I just hope these weather areas have random spam locations on each map.
I feel like Wargaming just hates their own game. They want matches that last no longer than 5 minutes, with tanks that are fast and have crazy DPM on maps that are a quarter of the size they are now.
hmm this is a strange one, i do like the idea of trying to change things up a little and force tank destroyers to try new positions rather then just essentially auto piloting to a location and doing the same thing each game but i think new and/or modified maps is probably a better solution although this might be easier.
This is amazing and i hope it comes to random battels as soon as possible. Perhaps without the ability to turn it off too, so everyone will play it. That way there will be more players and more fun
i think it COULD be an interesting mechanic. I don't like the fact that anything inside the zones is just invisible to the outside and vice versa. i think it could spice up the games if it was dynamic, maybe in combination with the already existing events, plane crash on prok could start a fire that wipes half the one two line of bushes. or dynamic rain where suddenly a rainstorm forms making driving difficult and reducing vision to allow progress if a side is loosing hard. or the sandstorm forming later in the battle and just rolling through one side dynamically changing the environment. the way it is now it only boosts heavy tanks, heavy mediums and heavy tank destroyers. anything that has to worry about getting shot in the side or rear is just safe now which is not good. it defeats a lot of purpose of the game. i hope they implement changes also i wish instead of trying gimmicks they could release the 6 maps we tested in 2022 (correct me if I'm wrong) and/or rework removed maps and releasing them back, maybe also limit the maps to tiers to spice things up as well or adjust play (like mines or ensk being limited to tier VII)
I know people say this all the time. And I could go on at length to explain my reasoning in detail. But for now I will just say: if this goes into standard battles as is then I will simply not play anymore.
Thank you QB for talking about the issues for everyone. I was an old WoT player but stopped playing like 4-5 years ago due to the bad changes Wargaming has made. I've watched you since I've started playing and enjoy your content even tho I stopped playing. It's sad seeing them kill the game slowly even tho I keep hoping they fix the game so I can come back. I hope they start to listen to you and the community but we all know it's so hard for them to hear us. Thank you QB Side note: I started playing WoT Blitz and it's been surprisingly enjoyable. Not gonna say it's anything close to perfect but I feel like Blitz has made a more balanced version of WoT. Would love to see your opinions on it if you ever do end up trying it.
I find it BS that ppl outside the weather could somehow see and shoot at people inside. Especially when a Skoda T50 penned a full mag into me when I was broadside and turning my armor to them. 😐 Did you also know that maps with two weather zones, you can actually see tanks in the other zone if you are in one? 0.0
It's nice to see WG is trying to shake up gameplay and make some changes. But maybe, just maybe they should focus on making game itself fun and balanced again? Don't get me wrong. WoT was never balanced in a way how esport games are. But in the past you could be compepetive without opening your wallet, more-less. Now, it's pretty much impossible. Sad, really.
im gonna have to agreee with you about the ghost thing. I love the effects but it needs some sort of transition. Either an increase camo rating and/or decrease view range from effects.
WG took the idea of cyclones from World of Warships and thought putting them into WoT would be a good idea. But they forgot that WoWs battles take place at larger ranges in more open maps where a cyclone can be used effectively by all ship classes to break contact, reposition, or used to launch a sneak attack. In WoT, with its COD Corridor maps, this just creates localized brawl zones with the outcome not determined by strategy or play, but simply who has the most HP in the zone. With no chance for external counter play, it's a pretty bad game mechanic.
I'd say it's more like WG tried to copy the localised Thunderstorm mechanic (Cyclone being a map-wide mechanic) and ended up creating a cheap Temu knockoff
I've always said they need to drop the 500m view limit, especially considering your shells can fly so much further. Being able to fire at tanks a kilometer away would actually give your radio/operator/shell velocity some meaning. This just goes in the complete opposite direction.
They keep making things worse for TDs . Scouts and ARTY are useless in this mode. It is all heavies and meds. Kind of like a quick game of tennis, Just go hull down, shoot and be done in 5 minutes. You "get" to play 50 games to tell them this is garbage.
As a primary TD player I had similar experiences and really do not like this feature as it currently stands. You should at least be able to see an outline of a tank through all the smoke. I do agree you absolutely must be able to turn this off if you want and having it be random I think would be cool.
I would have to play before I judge it. Weather done right creates massive blind spots. The problem I have is that WoT makes small maps. Weather in small maps makes no sense.
The easy fix for these zones is that the tanks don't disappear, but they have no outlines or titles above the tanks and you have to spot them like real life. They would be hard to see because of the graphics.
There's another issue you haven't mentioned and may not be aware of. With my settings I get a warning saying "Highest graphics settings recommended" with warnings that artefacts may occur. I can't afford a higher spec PC, what will happen to my experience?
I think that they should remove the visibility limiter - all tanks should be visible, even inside the weather mechanics. However, the weather should only have an impact on the tanks and crew itself - so for example inside the fog - there will be lower visibility, inside the rain - mobility will be worse, in the fire - the crew would perform worse etc. And as well the possibility of fire engine would be lower in the rain. And it should ALWAYS be a random place at the map - not one every game. This would change everything and everyone would have to adjust to dynamically changing scenarios.
With storms in wows your vision and concealment gradually decreases as you get to the edge, that would really solve this
Totally agree. This would be all it needs to make this feature awesome.
YES it works fine in WOW so just use the same logic here.
the storms in WoWS are great, they move over the map and arent permanent, you can avoid them or use them for your benefit. you also can shoot inside from the outside if you are still in viewrange etc.
Have no fear .... War Gaming is here. No one can f*** up a game as quickly as WG - they are excelling at it!!
yea it makes no logical or realistic sense
"This could RUIN World of Tanks". Could be 1 of 100 things that WG have been implementing these past few years.
Yeah more like the latest thing to ruin the game.
I almost hoped it was a joke about the US elections
I would say there was none bigger than this (that I can think of). Nothing that would effect my gameplay in such a drastic and negative way!
yep one of another stupid movement from nerf wargaming trying to be implemented after HE nerf, crew 2.0 and equipment etc.
No, because this is against the core gameplay which WoT has been about forever.
The biggest f*cking wankers the lot of them.

thats not at all how it played ot in most of my battles though.

So players that are outside of the fog, can see vehicles on the other side of it, as long as they are in render distance, despite there being something in your line of sight that blocks vision, but you can’t see what’s inside that thing, despite your view has to cross less fog, or dust or whatever. This is stupid
eh no more stupid than the vision system in general
@@Drogoran true, you should see everything. Just depend on your eyes
yeah i mean why they didn't do this on temporary time. and affecting all area map and not in small zones like that. this event just creating a only a small area like "no tanks zone" which only meta op armor tanks or swarming team easily dominating the area.
@@kekk3809 Play war Thunder then
It's another brain child of War Gaming.
- reducing the view range inside sounds alright
- also increasing the camo inside sounds good, so it's a big fat bush in some way
- making them timed sounds like the best, turn them off after a while, or start them from random events or after a certain time to change the gameplay, maybe even multiple times per battle even at pseudo random times
i think they should be able to move around, like in World of Warships with the rain storm moving in onto the map and you can go into them, it should sorta be like that that, i do think an idea is somthing from world of tanks console where every tank is still spotted, but they are not highlighted, if you know war thunder then you know what i mean
WG wil do ANYTHING but introduce new maps.
@freshwaterspaceman7194 I'm sure more maps isn't a solution, I mean look at hunt showdown, it has like 3 maps and it's great
If only they played their own game so they would also know what would be good mechanics... that's what you should focus on
More areas of the map, moving around or timed from start to finish.
Haha, yeah this one made me chuckle.
Also: DO NOT scratch the paint on me Yamato!
WOWS is trash now. Lost most of it's CCs and the plater base is plummeting. I quit many months ago and have not looked back. WOT is on it's way to the end now.
I think it's closer to the deployable smoke the Cold War gamemode on WoT console has as a consumable
Ask wg to make maps 5km x 5km or 8km x 8km 10km x 10km or 15km x 15km, just like on ww2 Tiger 1 eould hunt down from 3km
They are trying to find cheap ways of slowing down games instead of growing a pair and doing what is really needed which is looking at the matchmaker, fixing or even bring newer better maps out and balance premium tanks in the game.
matchmaking needs a rework
@@jo-fe9mbyeah, the +-2 system is obselete. They just need to put a +-1 so u get only tier 7 and 9 as a tier 8 but the tier 7 cannot go against tier 9. This will be better than most things they done during years

@@derrickstorm6976 it was on the recent test server with Tesak line. But no one was playing it, I tried to check it out...
They should have spent their time on making new map or two, instead of this bs...
Except every map they do is worse than the last.
Laughs in elc even 90
At this point, anything new and sometimes radical updates to World of tanks are needed to get the game moving, the weather zones (in my opinion) could be added to the game but with a few things that needs to be fixed:
first is that if an enemy is on the border of the weather zone and you are within 50 meters of them, the 50 meter spotting applies and everyone spots each other whether they are in different zones or not,
second is that the zones should not be static, like the zones should shift or drift across the map so that it doesn’t always appear on crucial areas,
Third, as QuickyBaby said, they should appear randomly or when there is stalemate happening like the random events
WG has always searched new ways to destroy the game.
I agree 100% with QB, I think that speeding the game up is the last thing this game needs!
There’s nothing better than getting in them longer match’s and are so close to either side winning that make this game what it is.
I honestly hope that these features stay well away.
These clowns can't even balance the maps on normal. How should they manage it with weather effects?
I am..was mainly a td player, when i started this game, but I skipped most of this year in Wot. It'm just tired , to try to shoot the 3 penetrable pixel in the front of the op heavies all the time, while slowly all the maps are converted to take out spot and snipe positions. It's just not fun. Playing with and control the vision is so important in the game, to have those rare epic comebacks or heroic last stands is impossible when the whole battle is decided in a 50 meter area in 2 minutes.
Yep, WG hates us sniper TDs. All about rapid assault tanks now.
It feels like the IS-7 already goes that fast.
Absolutely Top 3 of the best WG ideas with worst realisations.
Absolutely agree. I'd love to have weather but this implementation is so poor.
@kamikatz6407 probably second place, right after WOWP 2.0 update.
Remove arty from the game would be their best decision ever:))) anyway dead game
Heavy players are simply the biggest cry babies.
@@Abracalyn You don't need to be hyper realistic. War is hell. thats not enjoyable. Nobody wants arty and the only reason why arty mains play it is a) theyre fat and lazy b) they are paralegics and can only use one hand
Another way of transforming this into «World of heavy tanks».
This is just a HUGE step in the same direction WG has been going for some time. Eliminating Arty and TD players from battles.
Eliminating tds? Ffs, they make up 2/3 of most battles now.
@@theb190experience9 They have changed the maps to decrease TD's usefulness and nerfed arty's HE rounds. WOT wants ADHD, run around the map in light tank battles.
@@theb190experience9 Not if they bring this in. The only tank destroyers left will be assault with strong frontal armour.
@@leeblake3989 I hope you know that if you like slow paced/sniping/tactical gameplay you always have War Thunder on the table (and it's free)
If wargaming wants to keep the game alive then they have to distance themselves from WT, otherwise they will lose most of the playerbase to them
@@leeblake3989 To be fair, I think the overpowered TDs added are damaging to the game, and having played with high powered arty I certainly don’t miss it.
Endless shit fiddling, crashing Zeppelins to dust storms. Just make new maps WG.
This is the natural progression of WG desire to remove strategy and focus on spamming gold at close range.
no such thing as spamming gold you can either choose to buy cheap shells with low pen and complain about rng or just buy the more expensive credit rounds and do better
@@ElijahTrahan-l9s tell us you have to buy your skill just as WG want with out actually telling us.
@@SaintNyx Thats 100% what WG want and 100% why the game sucks for casual players. its pay to win all the way
It's really concerning as well when the zones have been placed where lights initially go to spot.
I mean alright, but I don't remember Recon Mission affecting General stats...
since this time its basically random matches, and they dont want you to test mechanics but rather how players react to them, its with stats.
They have opened it that all the states and BP work in recon, guess they also need to see if these events will also work with marking and things like that -
Probably because otherwise some players wouldnt want to "waste their time" playing a mode where they cant earn MoE or medals.
@@meinacco It's not that. It's so there's actual risk for people who'd be otherwise just throwing or trolling.
Cool concept, bad implementation.
My idea for a change of the mechanic:
Get rid of the "wall", no mini-arenas.
Make it so concealment/vision is effected depending on the distance of the weather between you and each target. Random numbers example; there's 100m of fog between you and an enemy, your ability to see them is reduced by 50%. There's only 50m of fog, it's now 25%.
Rain should reduce terrain resistance for the entire map. Sandstorm should be moving around while blocking view. Fog and fire are unnecessary.
Wouldn’t say unnecessary. Fog is just the same as sandstorms but for non desert maps and fire should slowly burn away cover on the map
@@davidwaxter66 good point. i think there is much potential in this feature if WG takes it bit more seriously
Drop it ! or at least make so we can turn it off in the settings !
faster money in their pockets, by making the games end sooner, to spend money on gold
@@wdinns Exactly. Just another cash grab to add to the long list over the years
I still think that would be a great mechanic that allows tanks to actually fight for once, but the placemet, size and way it works needs some tweaking. Especially with tanks dissapearing right in front of you etc.
I like the idea of having CHOICES, so Yes, im up for this change, will it be an optional battle mode? IDK but sure hope so for every one elses preferences
100% agreed! And you forgot to mention that will make it impossible to do some missions with arty, light tanks and TDs those are not optional you have to play those tanks.
played a handful of games in this mode and it was an instant "nope never playing this mode again, still to broken"
If you dont play, you cant give them bad feedback.
When only people who like it do it, it will be implemented.
Gold rounds and nerfing artillery and nerfing high explosive ammo. This game just isn’t fun anymore and it’s completely pay to win.
buffing Arty is supposed to be fun?
@ what tank do you like to play? Buffing _______ is supposed to be fun? What an ignorant comment.
Exactly
Every game I've played in this mode has been boring clown fest so far. Everybody just rushes into the zone, and if your tank can't play in close quarters, you're f'*ed. Makes already the weakest classes even weaker (if not completely irrelevant). Hope this just stays in recon mode and doesn't go into random battles.
Just another instance of WGs love of heavies, this mode pretty much negates 2 classes of tanks, gl playing low armour tds or arty
Once in every 100 games, would be fun.
WG always on the lookout for ways to screw up the light tank game
Same here
@@jakobgrimminger or they could just rebalancee all the shitty paper TDs so you can be agresive in them, right now most paper tank destroyers suck ass appart from select few that actually can play agresivelly (shptk is great agresive TD), it has to do with gun handling, accuracy and shitty pen and also lack of weakspots on most heavy armored vehicles, try to play agresively with skorpion G, well you cant cause gun aint hitting shit on the move and your bloom is enormous and it doesnt help the fact that TDs cant mount vstabs, which kills this class.

As if WG hadn't already ruined WOT, I salute you for trying to make content for this game, I've lost interest after jungles himself left the game as well
in respect of the graphics developer dont remove it, just make it an effect, but not arena.
I am all for anything that will get campers moving. I hope this goes into permanent play.
I had high hopes but it’s AWFUL! Just creates dead spots on the map, no one spots, whole team goes into the zone and battles end in minutes
in the current form, i will stop playing if this goes into the random queue. it feels really bad. the weather event is esentially a very tiny map in a map, and not suitable for lights arties and tds wo armour.
I played 1 match yesterday and immediately went back to play crappy random battles
This mechanic could maybe work if people can see inside but people inside can't see outside.
that's just stupid
I can't suffer through 50 games, to give my opinion on this, I just really hope it gets massively overhauled.
The survey gatekeeping is mindblowingly awful and dumb, even worse than the sad modes tested. Do they even want player feedback?
As an arty player, this sucks.
i agree with you this mechanic will ruin the game for old and ogs players , but at the same time
wargaming should add something new to the game the best way to get this to work is to add it as a separate game mode same as onslaught
so whoever likes to play it can and at the same time random battles stay intact
this mode could be the result of wargaming trying to bring new players or old players that don't play much if at all , that are looking for fun and new game experience
that's just my honest opinion
so the summery is : having this mode as a separate game mode outside the random battles for the people that like to play it or experience it is a good idea
forcing it in the random battles is a bad idea , that's all
In my opinion WG are adapting to the world going faster and faster, people can't keep their minds for long in games. The tik tok era is here, so WG wants to please the new generation.
Hello. In my opinion, this innovation in the game should be as it is now, be a separate mod, and be played by people who prefer it. It would be a big mistake if they did it in the random battles.
No one will play random in that case, just clickers and bush wankers.
18:30
How would you expect WG to take youre opinion seriously if you only played like once or twice on a new scenario? I think 10 battles is the minimum for someone to be able to make a fair and correct judgment on the matter and have a respectable opinion
I play mainly Lights and TD's and I knew within 2 games that it wrecked my gameplay and enjoyment. 8 more games would not have made a difference to my opinion.
@neilwilliams4684 maybe youre right, maybe not. I dont know
I've had so much fun playing in this mode that this is a little shocking to hear.
If this has to go in. Make it a separate game mode. So we have random battle like always and random battle with this bs. So people can choose
worst idea ever. you should not just off these, make players adjusting their gameplay to it.
I don't like the fact that anything inside the zones is just invisible to the outside and vice versa. i think it could spice up the games if it was dynamic, maybe in combination with the already existing events, plane crash on prok could start a fire that wipes half the one two line of bushes. or dynamic rain where suddenly a rainstorm forms making driving difficult and reducing vision to allow progress if a side is loosing hard. or the sandstorm forming later in the battle and just rolling through one side dynamically changing the environment. the way it is now it only boosts heavy tanks, heavy mediums and heavy tank destroyers. anything that has to worry about getting shot in the side or rear is just safe now which is not good. it defeats a lot of purpose of the game. i hope they implement changes
also i wish instead of trying gimmicks they could release the 6 maps we tested in 2022 (correct me if I'm wrong) and/or rework removed maps and releasing them back, maybe also limit the maps to tiers to spice things up as well or adjust play (like mines or ensk being limited to tier VII)
Thank you QB
Side note:
I started playing WoT Blitz and it's been surprisingly enjoyable. Not gonna say it's anything close to perfect but I feel like Blitz has made a more balanced version of WoT. Would love to see your opinions on it if you ever do end up trying it.
For those who want to play fast they can play wot blitz, idk why wargaming are making the game faster and faster
I find it BS that ppl outside the weather could somehow see and shoot at people inside. Especially when a Skoda T50 penned a full mag into me when I was broadside and turning my armor to them. 😐
Did you also know that maps with two weather zones, you can actually see tanks in the other zone if you are in one?
So TDs with bad mobility and no armour, that rely on view range, and cammo are well and truly useless.
Yet another heavy tank boost.
I quit about June. Since EU 3 and 4 joined, games became 15-5 or 5-15 for seven or eight times out of ten. Not fun either way. Goodbye WG.
Just feels like a buff to armour and heavies but a NERF to everything else.
I think they have to create and balance new maps with this mechanic. Those maps are not balanced for this effects
I love this mode - finally no camper bots in their triangles & arty piggies you cannot do anything against! Perfect game mode, add it as is 💯
It's great, most fun I've had with the game in years.
