Pro tip:. Don't dry fire a rimfire revolver, or you'll be calling Numrich again for a new hammer. ;). I don't just run a therapy channel, I'm also a firearms trainer.
Something neat about that 1860 Navy: when you cock the hammer to rotate the cylinder think how Cowboys did it in the movies. They bend their elbow and point the gun to the sky while thumbing back the hammer. This allows the spent cap to fall off. So it just doesn’t look cool, it’s also functional!
Rust spot will come off by rubbing with 0000 steel wool and oil. The blueing is harder and will not be removed like the rust will be. Unfortunately that doesn’t restore the blueing- you’ll need to keep it oiled.
Also, black powder firearms are not included in "firearms". Neat fact, felons can hunt with black powder rifles. Assuming their state doesn't prohibit felons from getting hunters licenses.
havent watched both videos yet, but you can get rid of/seriously reduce how bad the rust spots are by boiling them in water. distilled if you're feeling fancy, but i just use tap water.

When my uncle died he didn't leave me anything and he still wasted my time when I attended his service.
