I go here a lot at least once every couple weeks. I have quite a collection. I use a small expandable 1 gallon bucket and a 22 by 22 inch 1/4 hardware cloth classifier built out of wood to spread the tailings out wide and clean them off in the small creek. Its a great place and great video!
You are dialed in. Hopefully we will cross paths sometime. That is a very smart and efficient way to collect there. I am sure you have some amazing ones.
Awesome man I live in Cherokee and I love looking for rocks I’d love to see more videos hope you feel better
I am working on them right now.
Oh for the love of colored crystals. I'm going camping at Hickory Nut Falls in late Sept. and hope to find something
Hard to resist garnets .
The big ones are nice display specimens , but even the little gemmy crystals and fragments will keep your attention , anywhere you go in Western NC .
Everyone needs a few garnets in their collection. Western N.C. is a special place.
Hi there! Replay crew here. Hope you are well and leading a blessed life. I enjoyed the views in Carolina and the garnets you shared here. It’s so nice to get outside in the great outdoors. 👋🐶
I was under the impression that the little pine garnet mine has been closed to collectors for a few years. Nice to know I can still go, I have seen a few specimens from there at shows and local shops!
They had part of the roof collapse in the mine so they closed for a little while and decided to reopen the tailings . Little Pine has put out some awesome cabinet specimens.
Wow man, we’re headed there in the morning, but I just saw your post & we wish you a speedy recovery ✌️
I hope you had a good dig. Thank you. I am keeping my head up and one step at a time.
I hear that & yeah, we were super happy with what we found up there, they are polishing up nicely
Hey, if you sell rocks & what not I might be able to hook you up with a few things to help with your funds till you’re back on your feet
💖 I love going to this Garnet mine life find so much great gems... Just a FYI:; The garnets are worth more money when they're still in their matrix.. ❤ and remember to
~ Spread Love. ~ 👍💯
Why are the garnets more valuable while still in matrix?
Collectors love to see the garnet as natural as possible. It is unique and provides more education and helps determine the locality of the specimen. If it is gem grade I would say don't worry about the matrix.
These mineral specimens are beautiful. Are there any locations that have facet quality garnets in NC?
Have you stopped making videos
BTW - WE ALSO SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR CHANNEL!!! We are Disabled Seniors with OUR SON/ 47yr old / TETRAPLEGIC. We are recent Rock The Hounders - mainly Gem Rocks and Mineral shows. Terrains as you, we do not even consider it.
Hey man I'm coming up to Bryson City, NC this Friday and I'm staying till the end of the month. I was wondering if you knew any places around Bryson City Western North Carolina that I can find amethyst or quartz crystals, and I was also wondering if you provided any kind of guide services for the right price... Like pay you to go digging with me!
me me me!
PERTAING TO RUBIES AND SAPPHIRES' = CORUNDUM'S = HAVE YOU CLEANED THEM USING A VIBRATORY AND OR ROTARY TUMBLER??? ALSO HOW ABOUT GARNETS???
Cool 😎
🤜🤛
How much did you pay them to mine. To drive to it.
Can you tell me if these Garnets can be faceted? We are going down in about a month. We are going to 2 places and this is one of them. Thank you
Most that come out of Little Pine are specimens. I haven't heard from any faceted to my knowledge . With that being said I could be proven wrong by any stone that can come out of there. It is a special dig. Try to keep them on the matrix.
Well I still might drop by there. Is there any place that you know of that I can get any garnets that would be of faceting grade? I want to make something for my grand daughter. Thank you Jim
