12:52 I love your thoughtful approach to curating your home. One of the things that drew me in to your channel was noticing that you gather secondhand and bargain pieces to build into your spaces, and I find that the slow, gradual way you go about creating each space feels so real and relatable to me. I find your way of doing things so much more satisfying and inspiring than the “makeover in a weekend” approach. Thank you!

I agree! And I’m glad you feel that way… I get self conscious sometimes about be unable to do the “makeover is a weekend” thing 😂 Can’t wait to show you my amazing thrift stores finds from today!

What I love most about your design is that it does take time. You choose items that mean something or are unique and you build over time. Throwing everything together just to complete a space takes away all the character. I've enjoyed watching the process.

    40 $?!! 🤯😳😳
    I _love_ that blue sofa!
(The caramel/golden leather one too, btw.)
Regarding the armchair (in case it's not already too late anyway..): I got the feeling/sense, that this (quite yellowy/mustardy/warm) olive green might clash with the brown wood frame.
I think, the red looks kinda nice. Although I'm not much of a red type of girl.
So in case you exactly try to replace the red colour, I could imagine a nice dark/rich blue tone for upholstering the chair. It would suit the brow wood tone and also fit your nice colour palette.

I love your vision for the house and I’m so glad that you haven’t rushed your reno. You need to spend time in a house and see it in the different seasons to really understand how the light works in each of the rooms.
I also love the way you thrift. Some things you leave as you find them, others you adapt to your aesthetic. I’m also fascinated with your love of leather. It’s very masculine but the way you use it is not so much gentleman’s club but more leather bar but not overtly so. Less kink more butch if you know what I mean. 😀
I’ve spent a couple of days watching your vlogs and I’m so surprised you don’t have more of a following. I’m so glad that you have now been able to monetise your channel and I’m sure word will spread increasingly as you finish projects. It’s difficult to see before and after when they are surrounded with unfinished projects. Maybe tightly focus on the project that’s completed and not try to put it in context if the walls are partly stripped or the painting is unfinished. For example the fabulous stained glass window in the half bath. I was completely distracted by all the unfinished work. Show the window and leave us hanging and then do a full bath reveal with everything finished.
You are so engaging in your vlogs, you talk to us totally individually, set the scene, tell us what your plan of attack is, do the work and give us your methods and steps along the way and then show us how it turned out. You make it so that any amateur DIYer or complete newby could do exactly what you did. You exude confidence and make us feel that we too could get the same great result as you did just by following your step by step instructions.
I truly am loving your vlogs and it doesn’t hurt that you are rather gorgeous! You have a lovely smile a wicked twinkle in your eyes. I’ve already said how much I like your mo but again it’s cheeky, very fashionable and rather sexy. 😉
You have a dedicated follower here and I look forward to seeing how you continue to decorate the house. I have no doubt it will be fabulous once finished but even while the renos are still under way it’s a great place. Do please keep vlogging. I’m thoroughly invested in this project.
All the best from Neil in Australia 🇦🇺

Andrew, I am so glad I found your channel, it's the perfect antidote to the cookie cutter/copy from each other home channels. I love all your unique finds for the house. An internal greenhouse will be lovely in that closed in porch and your hand drawn bathroom paper is glorious. 👏🏻

  • @rockshot100

Andrew you are so much like me, this is like a mirror watching myself.
Question: How do you keep from getting overwhelmed?
I prioritize when I put my mind to it, then other days, "I just do what is in front of me."
Other days, I binge watch you.
Your sense of design is so keen, I imagine that you have at least some formal training.
Some say, "it is a matter of taste". I believe that is very far from the truth.
There are certain principals that are universally recognized as pleasant and organized to the human eye. There are rules that of course you can break, but you have to really break the rule and know how to do it. Some combinations of something as simple as color that are pleasant to look at, some are not.
As you said before, you try really hard not to be trendy, well, same here. This has proved to be really hard to do; to not be influenced by the what we see today, then picture it, 10 years from now. Love your vids, there are a few others. Lisa Holt is also extremely experienced and talented.
Do you talk about your design background?

So glad you're back! Love your taste and creativity (faux stained glass? vinyl bathroom walls? obsessed) - and especially your philosophy regarding home improvements. DIY-YT puts such an emphasize on 'get it done now,' but you're right: collecting things over time is so much more meaningful (and, often, more affordable) resulting in a space you truly love.
When you showed the dresser in your bedroom with the missing drawer, my immediate thought was to move the drawers down and replace the top with glass for display. Can't wait to see what you come up with throughout your new home!

Im new to your chanel, and I love the realistic elements in your renovation videos. I really like your dining chairs, and i would personally reupholster them in a dark olive green linen fabric to tie to the plants and greenhouse feeling that you are going for. Also, i really appreciate how you thrift and take your time with designing.

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  Год назад

Hey Marline! I LOVE your idea for the olive linen on the chairs! I was initially gonna do an olive color on them until I made the olive rug for that space… but now I’m planning to move the rug to the front porch… so olive on the chairs is a possibility again! I peeled back a bit on one of the chairs and found that they have two layers of upholstery on them. The original fabric is a textured creamy color… so if it’s in good shape, I might try to work with that!

I love that your staying true to an organic and natural process. I am trying to do the same with my channel. it feels a little stressful especially when i dont even know what im doing next month but it's so sad watching a youtuber collect all these beautiful pieces for their bedroom etc. and then go to target or ikea and pick out a really basic last piece of furniture for their video release. I can tell you're a natural artistic soul who just has inspiration and ideas flying out your ears ! or hands rather 😊

Very realistic to how it is making a home your own! Whenever you redo the siding i would consider moving the window in the bedroom, possibly adding another so that there's a window on each side of the bed.

I was told that solid surface was not a diy product but after a 1600 price tag for one bathroom vanity it became one. I found all the tutorials, products online and found it fairly straightforward. And I got four countertops for around the same price as one.

Could you convert the narrow closet on the right to a built in drawer system. Then bring the wall to the closet on the left out to give it more of a walk in closet feel?

Really like what you have done to the kitchen and that you are going to wax the vent hood. Only suggestion I have is not to paint your island, but to stain and wax it like the vent hood, it would really pop. The hand painted wallpaper in the bathroom is amazing. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. 😊

    • @REISSUED
      @REISSUED  Год назад +1

Hey thanks so much for watching and offering feedback! Yes, I have gone back and forth about painting the island… but I think the black will anchor the piece in the space and tie in with other rooms. Plus, I’m going to do a very faded and distressed paint job so some of the wood will shine through. We’ll see how it goes!

Ok, your bedroom, specifically, your bed is so out of balance. I would so get a new bed frame.! It doesn’t fit the space properly and it kind of cuts off the whole room. Since you are so resourceful, I would think that you can find a lower profile bed that fits better. It completely defies the principles of feng shui. !
