Love your island. That blue is amazing. We used a dresser for an island also. I removed the lower drawers for open shelves. It’s so much stylish storage I don’t know what I did without it.
New to your channel, gradually checking out the home reno vids. Back in the early 80s, owned a mid 1800s structure which was a construction zone for the entire 2.5+ years we lived there. (Can relate to a number of the issues with which you were confronted.) For us, neverending major challenges, and on a minuscule budget. Learned as we went, all DIY, nights and weekends while we both worked FT corporate jobs. Crazy time. Congrats on 10K subs!
I'm really enjoying these house renovations. I'm currently looking for my first home, and one of my big wishlist things is that it's built before 1950. I really want to find a lovely 1920-1930, but most of the houses in my search area that are that old are also in the bad part of town I'm trying to avoid. Also, there is like two styles of homes built in that time period that are common in my area, so actually getting the layout I want has been hard to find. And of course whenever I did find the house that fit everything's I got out bidded by a cash offer. Sorry about the rant. You are giving me so much inspiration for my future house and also validating my ideas about painting dark ceilings.
Love the island, Andrew! Distressed black really was a great choice, especially the way you sanded to highlight the edges, that was a nice touch. You have inspired me to find a vintage piece to repurpose as a bathroom vanity… wish me luck! 😅👍
I struggle with stools for the reason you mentioned. I feel like I'm sitting on a toothpick with some of them. I love the use of the dresser. I've been looking for one the right size for a future reno. It's good you added the footrest, I'll be using this tip for mine as well. Thank you😊 love it💙
Wow this project turned out so well. Great job. Looks like you come from and extraordinarily talented family!!! Beautiful piece that adds so much to your space.
Hey there! Thanks for watching and joining the team! My watch is from MVMT a couple years ago… not sure if they still make this one. But it has held up really well!
Still laughing about the "removed my clothes" comment. Love the idea of adding a footrest. Personally, the fence post is a bit too industrial for my taste, but very ingenious!
Your kitchen is coming along beautifully. I love your color choices and design elements. There is only one thing I would have done differently which is to raise the height of the island by making the base of the legs 2 inches higher. The short island looks odd. It should be the same height as the kitchen cabinet to look balanced in there.
I have a big dresser I want to turn into an island with seating, but it’s missing drawers and the shelving material is cheap so it doesn’t hold the heavy things that I need it to hold 😢
Oh no! Maybe you cut replace the shelves with something more sturdy? The hardware store should be able to cut them down for ya if you have the dimensions!
Love how you buy second hand furniture. So do we. So much better for the environment 👍
You are very lucky having parents like yours! Your ideas are greal.😊
The foot bar arrangement was SOOOO good to see. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love how this one turned out!!! The foot rail is chefs kiss!!!
Thanks Andrew! I’m really happy with how it turned out too! I think the paint color really brought it together. Monochromatic but textured
Another hit Andrew!! It came out beautifully!! I’m addicted to what you’ll do next!
Clever use of a dresser. The white top looks great
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the white top… I think it makes the space feel more balanced 🙌🏻

Beautifully done❤😊
Howdy Andrew!! Beautifully done!! Funny, "taking all my clothes off!" was really on point! Bet it got a lot of attention!! Hugs!!
actually, it was "remove all my clothes"...that was hilarious!
Love this!
Thanks for watching Karen! I appreciate you taking the time to share your comments as well ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful transformation, and love the family provenance of the dresser island. Queenie is such a cutie pie!

Yes! So glad you’re feeling inspired! Happy hunting for your bathroom vanity. My best advice is to be patient and wait to find the perfect thing!

You, sir, are creative 😊👏👏👏👏👏
Looks great. Wish I could bring myself to paint old wood!
Such a lovely piece!
That turned out beautiful! You did an awesome job! I'm all for repurposing/upcycling, so I'm thrilled to catch up on all you're doing!

Hey P Man! Take your time and wait for the right dresser to come along! And it’s cool that you’re gonna make the footrest! Let me know how it goes 🙌🏻
I like it!
Yay! Thank you! ❤️

Turned out great. Just think what that would have cost if one had to buy it? The bar stools worked well with the distressed black too.
Are those Born Tough pants w/ paint allmover em?! 😂 Loving your channel!
❤❤❤
What are the dimensions on your island? How tall is the piece? Beautiful!

The decorative legs on the island look great, but they jut out a lot for being in the center of the kitchen - I'd be stubbing my toe all the time.
👍✨💫😎🫶🥸
