This such an amazing story! Your father went through so many trials to get to where he is today. A truly humble man. He said that one person couldn't stand up to make a change, but that's exactly what he did. What a lovely family. ❤️

Please, please do more, we need to daily hear our elderly people to talk. The young today and many parents are all about giving their children and about dreams and it isn't about survival and accomplishments so there is no sense of the Creator nor of propose.

Many have commented on the people your parents are . . . God fearing, humble, wise, brave, industrious, resourceful . . . and, rightly so! But, in addition, this filming takes the "oral tradition" to the next level! Without a doubt, it is one of the greatest gifts you have bestowed on all future generations of your family.

I can relate to your dad. I grew up a Jehovah's Witness and I kept discovering things within the bible that went contrary to the church's teachings. Anytime I brought it to the elders/leaders attention they couldn't explain why they were not doing what the Bible said. I just finally couldn't continue in that church knowing they were not following the scriptures. Your dad is right, one person can't change things when people are stubborn and have their minds made up. I left the JW church in my late 20's.

Thanks for posting the Amazon link. I can’t wait to receive his book. I so enjoyed the post and hearing a little of his history. Absolutely would love to hear more about their life. I lost my dad 8 yrs ago and so many times I wish we had recorded him and some of the family history. All but 2 of his siblings are gone and the remaining ones do not remember all the stories and details of their families life, so it is good that you are documenting yours for your children. As we get older some of our memories are not the best, so it is better to document them when they are sharp in our minds. Your dad seems like mine in that he can still remember lots of details. Blessings to you all from W Kentucky.
