Many of our Customers come here to see the progress of their new Meadowlark log home or log cabin being built. Rentals are in demand so please book early to save your room.
We have it set up so you can sleep up to 6 people using not only the queen bed in the bedroom but also the double bed in the front room and the futon. That way you can bring children or others along.
This 20x30’ 600 sq. ft. single level log cabin was built by Elvie in 1994. It is where Elvie and Rebekah Miller moved into after they got married. The two oldest of their six children, their sons Jeriah and Jalon were born here and lived here for four years until the family moved into the big log home next door.
I MISSED SHOWING THE BATHTOOM ON THE VIDEO- YES THERE IS A BATHROOM WITH SINK, TOILET, TUB AND SHOWER! Sorry everyone…..(future video for that)
At the time the Millers were Old Order Amish, so there was no electricity, microwave, washer and dryer or TV. Gas lights and plumbing including hot water were built in from the start so that was convenient but later the gas lights were replaced with electric.
The cabin is pretty much original, except for a new floor and electricity, Wi-Fi, washer/dryer and a TV. The heat pump keeps it warm in winter, cool in summer, and the woodstove is available if you want the ambience of the fire.
About 100 yards away is the Meadowlark Log Homes facility where the chainsaws and hand tools are used by the craftsmen five days a week Monday through Friday to hand craft beautiful log homes, log cabins and log pavilions for shipping all across North America.
Also about 100 yards away is the Amish Farm To Market where you can shop for your food, meals, souvenirs, large Amish deli, and a delightful full service bakery and coffee shop.
While you are here, don’t forget to drive about a mile up Meadowlark Lane through the large farm fields to Eagle Valley Church parking lot where you can see an astounding Cabinet Mountain view that will take your breath away. Many folks claim it is among the most spectacular mountain views they have experienced.

Ben Simmons mom here...we love Meadowlark Homes and how much it means to Ben to sell your homes. That makes us happy.
This cabin is beautiful. But more than than, Elvie's love for Rebekah is beautiful ❤️.
Thank you for that! I sure do love that woman.
We had a great time at Elvie and Rebekah’s log cabin. There was firewood waiting for us when we arrived and they kept wood cut for us the entire stay. Elvie was very accommodating of any and all requests and made us feel right at home. The peace and quiet along with breathtaking views, really replenished our bodies with the rest we so greatly needed. Also, having their Amish Farm to Market store within a very short walking distance was extremely convenient.
Overall, this cabin was a very cozy place to stay. Definitely felt like a home away from home!
Thank you, Elvie and Rebekah!
Thank you for visiting! We’re so glad you felt at home in the cabin!
Nice!!! What a cozy place to stay. I love all your enthusiasm, Alvie. It's obvious what a hard worker you are. God has blessed your labors. May He continue to do so.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. This is very nice. I believe you have it all. Looks so nice and relaxing.
Great video Elvie. Elvie and crew built my home when they resided on the W. Kootenai in 1988. I have been in my log home since then and it is a well built home for sure.
Thank you for your comment and glad it’s still working out many decades later!
We're here staying right now! It's lovely, warm & cozy!
We’re happy you enjoyed it and hope you come again.
Do wish Libby was closer to me from the Farragut state park area of north Idaho, love to try the huckleberry and honeys there.
And no, I don’t get bored and click away, I enjoy your energy when explaining the homes or the changes a client has made to a design. Mostly love the family commrodery of you folks
Thanks for your comments!
What a beautiful cabin, I’d love to live in something like that! It’s like a little city there, you would never have to leave! Great video! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Beautiful place 🥰🥰
All do a great work thank you for your time happy thanks giving too your family
Elvie!
Another excellent video as always! Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it.
This is a gorgeous cabin ❤️💜💙
Thank you!
Just found this channel.... I love the beautiful cabin.... Such a pleasant and cozy cabin.... Beautiful woodwork.... God bless y'all
Thanks and welcome
Love the entire video! Elvie moves like there was no snow on the ground! Like the cabin, the tour, the shop and loves the stairs you went up. You guys always have nice stairs in all your cabins. Seeing the stairs where they split the log in half and added 90s to sit each step to make them appear to be floating... Oh, the door was great as well! I have no complaints the entire video. Anything to do with log cabins or Amish or Mennonites, is always fascinating. Elvie. So how much technology do you guys accept? You mentioned using a hand crank screw driver growing up, then eventually power tools. How much do you guys allow and what do you abstain from using technology wise? That's prob more doctrine/ faith/ your community based question than having to do with cabins. From my little understanding, it seems there is always a balance of what Amish will accept technology wise. There's new order vs old order, etc. I just think it's fascinating that the Amish are integrating more technology while at the same time, I'm trying to get away from it and live simpler. Thus my desire for a log cabin and learning anything to do with them and getting off grid.
Although this community was founded Old Order Amish, today we have people from different backgrounds and is definitely not a traditional Amish community. We no longer live by the Ordnung (ordinance or law) that is a boundary for Amish people. Our perspective is the kingdom of God is greater than that, and each person must live before God, as he/ she is shown truth, rather than a set of rules mandated by the church authorities to live by.
I definitely agree with you here. We are trying to get away from technology as well. And this is coming from someone who has been in the IT World for over a decade. My wife and I along with our two children crave a more simple life and plan to build a log cabin soon. We are now off-grid and plan to stay that way for the rest of our lives.
Great idea Elvie. Your cabin would be a perfect base camp for visiting Kootenai falls and suspension bridge, along with the cute town of Libby and endless fishing!
Thanks Steve. Maybe sometime after your Log Home is finished and you have some time, you and Lisa can book the cabin and come stay.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial absolutely!
Okay, we are fans of Elvie and Meadowlark Homes, and we are sitting in the cabin right now enjoying the fire with a cup of coffee! It was a hoot to watch Elvie describe everything! "I can't believe that I made these cabinets!" "Did I make this table?" "The mattress is fairly new and pretty comfortable!" (Note, the bed is very comfortable! ) So , unless you are looking for the Ritz, don't hesitate to stay in this cabin!
Sorry I missed you! Thanks for the comments on our humble first abode! Please come again.
We would love to stay at cabin when the snow ❄ is falling

You guys do some really fantastic work and I enjoy all of your videos. I currently have a nice plot of land in northern Wisconsin that sits on a knoll overlooking a lake and if I ever get into position to build one of these beauties you guys would be my choice. Definitely would love to visit Montana and stay in your cabin. Thanks for the great videos!
You better book a stay and come visit! I hope we can build your log cabin someday.
Oh my goodness I wish I had a store like that near where I live!
It’s fun not having to go to town for groceries.
sitting home nursing a back sprain and thoroughly enjoyed your video! thank you so much for posting!!

This is a really cute cabin! I love the big log supports in the front and the stories you tell of your dad and you hand drilling. I'm in California and I hope to visit some day.

@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Thank you.
Love the log building!!!
Thank you
I used to design log homes for a living many years ago.
This is amazing
Thank you!
Sehr schönes Video. Wir sehen uns, wenn ich nächstes Jahr einen Trip in die Staaten machen werde. Grüße aus Frankfurt, passt auf euch auf und bleibt gesund.
We look forward to meeting you here!
Gruse aus Montana!
We enjoyed your video! We'd love to come back to visit you when the weather warms up some. We visited in our truck camper in the summer of 2020 and really enjoyed the visit. I talked to Leona in the store and to you on the phone before we got there. You were going to give us a tour of the property but your knee was messed up and hurting. It looks like God has given you healing!🙌 Praise His Holy Name!
Another tourist business is Harvest Hosts for RV'ers for you to consider. We're members and would love to park our truck camper there overnight.
Another RUclipsr we follow is Mike on Our Wyoming Life; he and his wife host for Harvest Hosts. They have a ranch in Gillette, Wyoming. You could communicate with him to see how he likes working with HH.
We'd love to see another video of you and Rebecca's new house.
God's blessings on you and your family!
Thanks for the suggestions, because in the spring, I’m going to set up RV parking campground in the area outside the cabin. So please come and be one of our first guests. And yes, I had broken my kneecap, but it’s healed up perfectly.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial I literally read this morning that 20 Harvest Hosts have been cited for running an illegal RV Park. HH is wonderful and I’d use them in a pinch (prefer to solo boondock), and I doubt we’d have issues here in Montana, but something to look at Elvie just in case!!
loved your personal cabin - awesome! you didn't show the bathrooms?
I forgot 😌
I love all your Amish food - I've seen your stuff on Joas & Priscilla's videos - enjoy watching! Blessings in Christ Jesus
Thanks so much
Super. Grüsse an Rebecca, ihr habt so viel geschafft. Danke für das Video, für alle Videos. 👍
Ja sie schafft hatt… (yes she works hard)
Are you related to Joas from Montana haven? The tour you gave was great!!
Joas is my brother and he and his wife Priscilla operate Montana Haven and they are currently living in Alaska for a season. I expect they’ll come back to Montana in a while.
Would love to book a log cabin sometime, in the winter ❄️.
Well, now, you know the spot! We hope to host you someday.
I’d love to visit this someday
You should
How hard is it to maintain the exterior walls of the log cabin?
Im 53 next year my birthday is in April thanks 👍
Something very delightful , u said.❤ start, a music, song with ,chainsaws?
Maybe try, 5 min.s , in a praise, presentation????😂😊
We were Airb&b hosts until my dad needed help so he now lives in our attached 1 bedroom 1 bath 800 sq ft apartment with a full kitchen and dining room.
What is the name of your AirB&B so we can look into it for next summer?
Is Alvin related to Joas?? Blessings from Ireland ❤️
Elvie and Joas are brothers. Elvie has the channel Meadowlark Log Homes and Joas and his wife Priscilla have the channel Montana Haven.
Is there a bathroom in the cabin?😊❤
Yes, you see my comments in the video where I realized I forgot to show the bathtoom. Sorry everyone…..

Where’s the bathroom? I’m not going outside in the snow ❄️ 😂
I am so sorry I later realized I forgot to show the bathroom! There is a sink, toilet, and shower/tub, as well as washer and dryer.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial Thank goodness for that. I was worried about using a bucket 🪣 in the snow ❄️
@@lorrieleaver2447 :)
Was Jonas and Priscilla’s house in Alaska made here also?
Yes their log home was pre-assembled at the Meadowlark facility, shipped to Alaska. then their family put it back together.
Watching from England you should do more marketing for your stores.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate your comment!
I watch RUclips all do long very hard working days my name is Rodney I work on houses in Louisville Kentucky thanks for teaching me to work on
Do to rent out to people yearly? Please confirm.
Currently the cabin is not available, it is rented right now.
Are you located in the Yaak?
We are near Libby
Do you have the video
Me and my wife wants y'all to build our loghome it's going to be a little while but we want y'all to build it
That sounds great, let’s build your log cabin. What part of the south are y’all from?
Right now we are in Virginia but I'm from Texas and my wife's from Oklahoma
How much is the cabin that you built for rent
❤😊
It would be hard for me to guess but the best way would be to contact Meadowlark Log Homes through the links below
Elvin , pls. Explain? How did u transform from? Old? Ideology! To modern? Even with? Wifi❤ $ haha😊😂 no joke! In less!? Then. 30 yrs. Plzzzz.? Thanks a lot❤😂😮😊
Does it have a bzthroom?
Yes it has a bathroom
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
You needn't tell us everything you made.😊
You think about nature, you think about living, how about and using grace naturally as Insulation, for example "Hunton Nativo Træfiberisolering" instead of that crappy spray phone that you can't get rid of again. we humans on earth must start thinking that things must be able to compost or be recycled when we build a house.
Use and throw away The culture is over.
perhaps an initiative could be for you on every tree trunk in your production replanted in a new tree.
hi Elvi do you ship to Michigan ?
if so how much would it cost for a cabin like that to be shipped here ?
The best answer would be to go to the website and then contact the staff at the office to give you a price quote. A few years ago we built one in upper Michigan. That model was a Swiss Chalet.
i'm stick'n that link in my wifes email :) maybe she'll set something up . . . we very much want to build our house with you guys and this would give her a chance to get a much closer look.
You should come!
