It’s time to say goodbye to those height barriered park ups but a small price to pay for your luxurious new van. Congratulations and here's hoping for many many happy miles ahead.
I enjoyed viewing thanks, Little Red has been awesome and reliable. So glad you got the new van though, you deserve the extra space. Its been really great watching you both in little Red and i know you will have a special place for Her in your hearts.
Bye red. 😢. I went off on a tangent reading about "the old Mary" . Its fascinating that her signature is there, being so old and all. Is that Mary 1st, Henry's firstborn? If not then i really went off on a tangent. But seeing things like that makes history and geography come alive!
It’s amazing what Carol and yourself achieved with the little red camper, you really got out there and lived life! Must be a bit sad to say goodbye to her
Thank you Little Red for the wonderful memories and good times. I have seen many places that I would never have been able to. I have learned much. Have a wonderful life. Cheers Red ♥️♥️♥️
I love oven in my van, do mainly tray bakes. Line tin with tin foil - chuck in chicken, sausage or meatballs etc. and veg and bung in oven for 30 minutes. Good book is The Quick Roasting Tin by Rukmini Iyer for some really good recipes if you fancy experimenting. Don’t be sad as Little Red will still be making adventures with her new owners
Lovely video Carol and Ken, yes defo was time to take the drone back ....better safe than sorry. Hoping the weather picks up soon so I can get some practice with my drone. You could of called the next video in little red ....."The last supper" 😁😁. Little red has been great ,and I don't remember in any video where it gave you trouble. But onwards and upwards in the new van ...can't wait
Lovely video, and by have we had some rain lately !! Them car parks are going to be way out of bounds now in the Consort, new challenges ahead and will make some fantastic videos 🙂 We need to explore more of the deep south 🙂 Lovely drone footage as ever. Take care, Trev Debz and Tyler x x
Watching as per on a quiet Sunday morning with a cuppa tea 🍵 and dunking biscuits 😋 👌 now that you have both moved on from the little Red camper to a more spacious campervan..do you look back now & think that it was great having a smaller van for somethings but now you wouldn't want to go back as the extras on board now outweigh the little things in the previous van 🤔🤔
Yes, we are loving the extra space, bigger bed and having a fixed toilet. The oven/grill is also very handy. We miss Little Red’s agility, not having to worry how narrow the roads are being able to park in tight spaces 🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK pluses & minuses in 'change' 🤔the toilet for one must be a big plus ➕ bed also 🙂the agility of the little Red camper is a small price to pay me thinks especially as we are all not getting any younger ! Think you've made a very good move personally 👌
With a Tear in My Eye Oh, Little Red Camper, It's been a great ride, We've loved our adventures, From hill down to tide, To Norway, to Ireland, To France and to Wales, We've memories a plenty, Great moments, great tales, Oh! Little Red Camper, A tear we now shed, As we bring on the white, And say adieu to the Red.❤
We love the little red van. Loved all the wonderful places you visited. You bring a ray of sunlight into our evening. Looking forward to the new adventures.
I love Rye. Used to drive through there on way to the ex - in laws in Romney Marsh. I wish I stopped off more often. If I realised the mermaid inn was haunted, I’d have had to stop over! Will look forward to that. What a lovely vlog around Winchelsea. Goodbye Little Red. You did Carol and Ken proud ❤
When we all aspire to bigger and better things I always think back to an old Dave Allen skit when he told the tale of a micro electronics entrepreneur who had done so well that he was moving to smaller premises. Enjoy your unbridled space to the full - what a game changer.
Lovely! Also a little bittersweet, but happy you finally have the right new van for you! Looking forward to all the new adventures. Take good care, and enjoy.
Sad to see the last trip of wee red van. I found you on your Irish trip and followed you since. I wish you many happy miles and smiles with your new van. Onwards my friends
After following you for many months we bumped into you today in Richmond, North Yorkshire and had a quick chat as we passed. Eventually subscribed. 👍 Nice meeting you
You folks make the South Coast look so beautiful, even in winter. Not too long after I subscribed to your channel, I began to search online for a new Nissan NV-200 so I could convert it into a mini-campervan, or have someone do it for me, because I currently own and drive a 2018 Nissan Sentra (US model) and I like my 1st Nissan. I will say it here: your Little Red Camper van with the white twirl looks like a Coca-Cola can, but is thrown off by the white buck. For your final episode of Little Red, I will drink a can of Coca-Cola for its service to you folks.
Another great sojourn for even winter. If using what can only be described as a 'real, camera, for winter light issues; use a fully or variable tinted, neutral density and polarised filter, should stop the issues and serve to intensify any lack of colour. Great to share in your local exploratory trip, even in brisk temps, here is summer, though today currently 10C and a second day of occasional rain, little to no wind. Won't get to mow lawns again, I am so sad!!, yea right! Take care and stay safe. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜
Thank you for allowing me to go with you on this last adventure in the Little red Van, I've been on most of your adventures during the last 3/4 years and looking forward to your new adventures in the new van!!!!
Oh Carol, didn't you see that BIG SIGN cafe, 🤣 I did laugh, I think I detected a bit of sarcasm it your voice Ken, did I not? 🤔 It was all worth it, the food looked good. 👍🐸
Such a simple but splendid trip. The glass in Winchelsea church is glorious! Looking forward to part two, if 'looking forward' is the right phrase for the end of an era....
How about a cookbook? Your simple meals always look tasty . Wasn’t sure about tomato soup with chicken pieces and butter beans, my face was similar to Carol’s, but it looked more than edible once heated and dished up. I’m out of the country and internet for a few Fridays now so it’s bye to Little Red from me and hope your new owners enjoy and look after you as well as Carol and Ken have. Xx
This part of the coast can be completely bleak and foreboding in winter - Dungeness has been used as a filming location for many dystopian film and TV projects - but you did a great job of capturing its raw beauty. Colin
We used to go to Rye and Winchelsea quite a lot on Sundays when I was a kid back in the 80s a lot of the shops on Rye high street were open on Sundays and it was lovely just walking down the high street, there was a shop called Serendipity I used to love that place, my mum was always worried I was going to knock something and break it, then we used to either go to a pub or get fish and chips and find somewhere to sit and eat them, or eat them in the car, then a drive out through Winchelsea or going back through Icklesham and stopping at The Queens Head in icklesham an amazing pub, then when My parents moved out to Icklesham in the 2000s my other half and myself used to go out to see them on a Sunday and usually go to The Queen’s Head for lunch or just for a drink, the food in there is amazing and the pub has such a wonderful atmosphere, cozy in the winter and airy in the summer with a brilliant garden If you ever go to Ickleshamthem go to The Queens Head
Little Red will be missed. We’ve traveled to Ireland, Spain, France Norway and many more places. It’s been a true pleasure. I hope Red lands in a good home. Faithful Red! Mary
I hope the final episode shows little red driving into the sunset as all good movies ended when I was a kid! Sad to see little red go but also excited by the prospect of your new adventures in the new van.Thank you for taking us along Carol and Ken.
Hi guys. If your butter is hard use a tiny tea strainer not a ball one. One similar to a large sieve to use with flour but small and gently rub it along the butter. We call it fairy butter it’s amazing. Thanks for another great blog xx
My old area. I used to live in Rye and know these areas well ❤ Thank you, enjoying! 😊 Oh BTW, in those lakes at Pett Level in the early 90s there was a Flamingo but it was white. It got out during the Great storm in 1987...Many years ago. And in Pett Level there is a petrified forest!
Thanks for showcasing Winchelsea and Camber, it must have been absolutely freezing, so well done. We haven't been for ages, and as we also live in Sussex, we will definitely toddle over there soon. The cafe looks amazing and so pleased it's dog friendly 🐶. Bon chance Little Red when you take your new owners on their adventures ❤️ Your supper was a great idea, a simple "one pot"meal, as vegetarians we could exchange the chicken pieces for extra vegetables, and lots of grated cheese 🧀❤️🚐🍾 xx
Smart idea, warming up the bowls. Saves them from shattering from hot soup. :) Yeah, leaving the butter out to soften, won't work on a freezing night. But dunking bread works. I'll bet you won't often have to escape to a hotel for a bit of luxury and comfort once you have the new van. It has everything in it. :) Cheers. Jon in rural BC, Canada

Bye Red, it’s been great joining you on your adventures. Carol and Ken, I love the way you begin with a map and the drone shots to show where you are, and the history; it helps so much when I live on the other side of the world. I’ve been ‘homesick’ for the UK ever since I had 2 years there on my O.E. in the 70s. I’ve never managed to get back and it’s very unlikely now so your videos are a highlight in my week. Thank you so much. Looking forward to joining you in your new camper
Bye Little Red, I’ve loved watching your adventures. I hope you go to a good home. Looking forward to see Ken and Carol enjoy their new camper. Take care Gill
Too bad about the castle but I enjoyed seeing the land around it and the river and sea. I love Your island- have visited a few times London and Basingstoke and environs. Need to go back!
I enjoyed watching your video of my local area and will be sad to see the little red camper no more. Ken, Winchelsea is a town with a mayor an all. I had to laugh about the potholes. Hastings just up the road has the finest collection in the south east! Travel well in your new van. What about Bianca or Bianco depending on gender as a name.
What a glorious day for the final little red. Blimey they moved the town ! Nice bit of the history. Good to know the cafe is dog friendly 👍. Loved the bacon (G). Looked nice and crispy. Good drone advice. Ellie loves the Co-op. You won’t get the Nova under that barrier 😩. Lovely vlog. Look forward to the next and last 👏🚐🧙♂️
Spike Milligan! How about that. Never heard of Winchelsea before. Nice bit of English history. Thankyou . I had a teacher once called Breed. Oh yum. The food looks great. We did the play, "Murder in the Cathedral" in an actual Cathedral many years ago.- in the countryside, in Australia. "Bar the doors." The doors are barred." That's all the dialogue I can remember.
Good by Pettit rouge oh how we loved your easy u-turn ability. I suspect you may notice a significant difference attempting u-turns in Van-Blanc with its extended wheelbase. Onward and upward to the new adventures!
The 'a pleasing creamy colour' quote for the church bricks threw us into an 8 minute tangent on said quote. To the point where we had to rewind the vlog back 8 mins cos we missed it! .... Deciding where and when to use your quote in daily life going forward is fun and exciting. They are words put in an order that one has never before spoken! .... Loving the vlogs as ever.
Lovely vlog 👍. I enjoyed watching the little red van the last couple of years and I wish the new owners a great time as you had. Welcome to the new (Snoopy?) van 😁. Will there be a reveal name video? See you soon
Thank you for allowing us to accompany you on this final journey in the little red camper. Rye looks lovely so we may just have to have a drive over from Worthing to have a look around.
Wow that medieval church looks amazing. It's sad to see the last video of the red van, but I bet the luxury of the new one will be welcomed. A shame it won't be able to limbo under the barriers, though.
Great video the little red camper has done you well happy memories now on to new adventures in the new van and making many more happy memories wishing you both great joy on your travels xx
It can mean over dressed or looking a mess. If refering to overdressed it doesn't mean it in a good way, bit like saying they are a complete mess. It comes from a time a dog would have been fed scraps so a mixture of food that wouldn't normally go together on a plate.
The end of an era , i first discovered you and carol when you came to the the isle of man my home. Watched ever since . Cant wait for the new adbentures. If not a little sad about little red :)
Hi, I've been so inspired by you, I'm totally new to the van life, I paid for a new ELDDIS SIGNATURE CV40 (2024) from Tyne Valley Motorhomes at Newcastle with me living up here (now, don't believe a word they say...) not picked it up as yet but is ready and waiting - BUT, I've just found out and I think your subscribers should know if thinking of buying a campervan (do your homework), I was told when plug the van into an electric hockup point at a camp site or at home this will charge both the vehicle & leisure battery or solar panel would charge the vehicle & leisure battery while wild capming, but now I've paid it's not the case! If you don't use the campervan for around 7 days+ charge both batteries or they will go dead. I can leave my car for over a month and silll starts first time. I feel mislead and told them I'm not picking it up. I've travled up and down the country over the last few years in my car staying at hotels and cottages as these are everywhere and cheaper then one would ever pay for a new campervan, stay in 4+ cottages and hotels every year for 5 years+ and still would not come to the price of a new campervan. I may sound bitter only because I've been mis-sold by Tyne Valley Motorhomes at Newcastle.
Sorry to hear of your experience. Solar in the UK is not a reliable source to ensure batteries are kept at a reasonable level of charge. In our previous van we sometimes used a trickle charger on the vehicle battery to keep everything good. Solar did keep the leisure battery well charged though.
@@LifeistooshortCK Keeping you dated, it turns out we don't have any consumer rights as it's not on paper etc. Got a phone call from Tyne Valley Motorhomes at Newcastle today 08/02/2024 saying if we don't pick-up the ELDDIS SIGNATURE CV40 (2024) within 14 days, dead line 22 Feb 2024 they will start billing us for storage. So with a heavy heart and no choose I'll pick-up the campervan on the 22 Feb 2024 and sell it on: costs me £65k will accept £50k looking for a buyer now and put the whole idea behind me...I'll still follow your videos, take care.
Kevin, I have been thinking about this. Most campers do not charge the vehicle battery. Our new van is the first we have had that does. 10% of the solar goes to the engine battery. The vehicle engine battery will not die in seven days unless it’s faulty. Our old van would last 2 or 3 months. It sounds like you have been fed some duff information. I would use the van and see the truth of the situation.
@@LifeistooshortCK Can I ask if I pick up the van: 1. If I leave it on my driveway without pulugging it in to an hookup and nothing is turned on - how long do leisure battery last? 2. You say the cab battery should last 2-3 months before needing to be charged? Update on the van had a phone call today, they say they have fitted something so when I hookup to elec it will charge the leisure and cab battery dose this sound right? Thanks for your help...
RECIPE: Here is my own easy Chunky Tomato Soup Recipe; Ingredients: Large tin Italian Diced Tomatoes (2 - 3kg - with NO additives), 4 med to lge onions (choose your own variety - red or white), 50 to 100g butter (MUST be butter), seasoning (salt, fresh ground black pepper, garlic, fresh rosemary, pinch curry powder, etc) personal choice. Place a large pot/saucepan on a low heat, add butter and coarsely chopped onions with seasoning - stir & watch. Steam for a few minutes (lid on) until onions soft and tender (make sure not too hot or butter will burn), stir. Add large tin tomatoes slowly, simmer for at least 5 - 10 mins [stir regularly], serve in large deep bowls. Best with hot buttered toast, any type of bread or rolls, garlic bread, or even garlic naan. Enjoy, will warm anyone's day or situation. Great outdoors from a food flask too with mugs. Keeps well refrigerated or even frozen. Can be used as an extra afterwards in pasta, casseroles and stews. Moments to prepare and lots of tasty enjoyment. Enjoy. Kia Ora from New Zealand. ❤❤ (NB: Use chicken stock to water-down/thin.)

How lovely to see this as I know this area very well. Familiar roads. Sad to say bye bye to old faithful though.
Little Red gave you a lot of happiness and your next one will do the same but in more comfort. Take care and bye for now.
Look forward to the next and last 👏🚐🧙♂️
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
We explored that area as I read Malcolm Saville as a girl.He used lots of locations in his stories and it was great to vist them.
Bye Bye little Red.
Could call your new van Daisy & put a bright coloured Daisy on the outside.
Mixed emotions with little Red...Great memories. However, new ones to make 😊
Well thanks little red l expect you will have many more adventures 😊
So long little red, hope next owners get as much pleasure as you did, end of an era🥰
Will miss little red, but looking forward to your dentures in your new van.
A disappointment not a dismal failure, 😂.Good pointers for drone pilots. 👍
Love that 😅

I don't know when last I ever had canned soup - but I have to say that looked yummoo!!! What a sweet and nostalgic trip in L'il Red... YAM xx
Canned soups make a good base for a quick meal 👍
Good by Pettit rouge oh how we loved your easy u-turn ability. I suspect you may notice a significant difference attempting u-turns in Van-Blanc with its extended wheelbase. Onward and upward to the new adventures!
Not as good for sure but better than expected so far 👍
The 'a pleasing creamy colour' quote for the church bricks threw us into an 8 minute tangent on said quote. To the point where we had to rewind the vlog back 8 mins cos we missed it! .... Deciding where and when to use your quote in daily life going forward is fun and exciting. They are words put in an order that one has never before spoken! .... Loving the vlogs as ever.
We aim to create mind chaos everywhere, take over the world and remove height barriers for all 😁👍
Lovely vlog 👍. I enjoyed watching the little red van the last couple of years and I wish the new owners a great time as you had. Welcome to the new (Snoopy?) van 😁. Will there be a reveal name video? See you soon
Possibly ☺️
Hi Carol & Ken, have you considered raffling off Little Red ?
I think with the following you have it could work well for you.
We did consider it but, looking at the details, we decided against it.
Thanks guys that was a lovely video 👍
Thank you for allowing us to accompany you on this final journey in the little red camper. Rye looks lovely so we may just have to have a drive over from Worthing to have a look around.
Well worth a visit. Thanks for watching 🙂
Wow that medieval church looks amazing. It's sad to see the last video of the red van, but I bet the luxury of the new one will be welcomed. A shame it won't be able to limbo under the barriers, though.
Yes everything is a compromise 👍
Hope little red goes to another good home for the rest of his days 😢
Great video the little red camper has done you well happy memories now on to new adventures in the new van and making many more happy memories wishing you both great joy on your travels xx
Thanks 👍
Cool
You must be really loving the extra space , the shower , and the bigger bed in the new camper ?
It is unbelievable at the moment 👍
Iam surprised you weren’t wearing that Café sign Ken 😊
I have worn many things over the years in my quest for truth 😁👍
Sad days but, happy memories and a new adventure ahead😞😊🐕🚙
Yep👍
Hi Carol and Ken, thank you for the video. How tall is the new van?
2.6m 🙂
Aw, I didn't want that to end! Such a lovely video.. thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Why does “dressed up like a dog’s dinner” mean “overdressed”? Thanks from a confused Aussie.
It can mean over dressed or looking a mess. If refering to overdressed it doesn't mean it in a good way, bit like saying they are a complete mess.
It comes from a time a dog would have been fed scraps so a mixture of food that wouldn't normally go together on a plate.
It actually means wearing clothes that are too formal for the occasion, or it does where I come from. Not too many layers in the cold weather.
Thank you both for another lovely video.
Thanks for watching 🙂
The end of an era , i first discovered you and carol when you came to the the isle of man my home. Watched ever since
. Cant wait for the new adbentures. If not a little sad about little red :)
Thanks for continuing to watch. We loved the Isle of Man 🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK the pleasure is ours :) since then my partner and i have movdd full time into van life offgrid over here , best thing we ever.did.
@@valuewallart7287 enjoy 🙂👍
Yes whats happening to little Red??
Up for sale soon
Does that pan have a thermometer on the handle? If so, I've never seen one like that.
That is just a lever on the handle that you press to detach it. A thermometer would be a good idea though 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK oh... Haha. We better patent the idea before someone else does. 😂

I know you said not to be sad but it is the end of an era. I'm still missing Connie…
Onwards 😁👍
I hate getting rid of vehicles, they look after you and so many memories are formed . That’s why I keep mine for ever and I always cry..
Totally. I wrote a blog post about it.
euansemple.blog/2023/10/15/just-a-thing/
@@kevinwinspear1280 sorry you have had such a horrible experience.
@@LifeistooshortCK Can I ask if I pick up the van:
Sounds beautiful Xavier ❤️
