I have been a George Michael fan for decades, and just today (Wednesday, December 18th, 2024) did I discover that the great Mr. Michael did a cover of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody"! Love his passion while covering this song. The only thing that I wish more folks would do when covering this song, is to let that absolutely incredible opening go on a little longer. Let it breathe, get the crowd worked up. It is one of the great build-ups to a song, and I wish more singers would let it go on for a while. A big thumbs up and thank you for posting this!!!!

I could not agree more. Ain‘t nobody by Chaka Kahn is a super hard nut to crack, because the original is such a fantastic track and everybody has her voice in mind singing it. But the man does it flawlessly, with incredible ease, giving it his own spin, but still close and true to the original in tonality and flow, and all of this in a live concert performance. One can hear and feel that he truly loved that song. Freaking incredible! One of the best singers and performers of all time, unfortunately heavily under rated during his heyday.
I love how the keyboard player keeps dancing when not playing. Hard not to dance to this. I think this might be just after he met Anselmo - which might account for the fierceness of this performance because, oh wow, and the lyrics.... Gosh - I so wish he had had him in his life for as long as they both wanted instead of losing him so tragically. Everything changed after Anselmo died - 💔I heard him in one interview before he met Anselmo that he had all these people (fans) who loved him but he felt he deserved one love for himself....sigh. He definitely did.
