Been playing in bands for 50yrs (play bass), grew up on most if not all the numbers they cover - I've got a good ear and a pretty good music memory, can still play most of these numbers without charts. The level of talent and music professional skill of these guys is outrageous. They NAIL these covers in every detail. Fantastic.

The most amazing thing about this group is that most of them cannot understand or speak English, which proves the tremendous power of music. When Leonid started this group he didn’t have any of the music sheets, didn’t understand English, and sometimes didn’t even have proper instruments (they made guitars from spare parts). He transcribed the music onto paper by isolating each sound, instrument, and voice, individually. Most people don’t realize what musical talent, perfect pitch, and knowledge is necessary to do this. It truly is an amazing accomplishment, especially on the part of Leonid, and he is so humble he simply plays among the musicians as if he is only a background bass guitarist. What a guy! We have seen them every time they’ve come to the Atlanta/Tennessee/Carolina area; this Friday will be the fourth time. We can’t wait to see them again; they’re a great, friendly group of people.

Yes Ksenia's English is very good. She's very sweet in person. She was a little embarrassed because her hand was sticky from the strawberry 🍓 (I think) shake she had just purchased (this was 2 years ago). Konstantin seems to understand pretty well. Along with a couple of others. Igor's English wasn't so good (I can speak about 3 Russian words). But through a translator, no problem. Igor's drumming is truly phenomenal.
Having worked as a producer and recording artist at the highest levels (including Abbey Road with Alan Parsons of Project fame) - I have to say this band of brilliant people and their wonderful production values are world class! Truly superb - well done guys!
Did you know that when they first started out, Leonid could not get the Chicago sheet music in Russia, so he wrote out all the parts by ear? If you listen to some of their early Chicago-covers, they are spot on. It is amazing...........and I am also saying that as a musician. (and someone who knows the lead singer in this song) Alan Parsons did an interview not long ago with the Professor of Rock RUclips channel.........always good to see some of the greats from that era still with us.
This is probably the best version I've ever heard. The inclusion of classical instruments and the music distribution is spectacular. Noticeably the lead singer was singing from her heart. Well done.
The original composer of this song, David "Hawk" Wolinski and I were "besties" at one time and played together in a band out of Chicago called Bangor Flying Circus. Hawk wrote this later for Chaka, who is was playing with. It's great to hear the song covered so well and with such respect for the original. Sid Sims

Ksenia is really sweet in person too. Got to meet her the next day after the Kansas City show a couple of years back. Last year's show, she almost ran over me when she came off the elevator the next morning with her luggage 🧳 🧳 🧳. LOL 😂 They were all running to get in the van for their next gig (Saturday evening) in the next state over. Lord willing, I hope to see them in about two weeks (this will be my third time). The band would happily play in Canada, but bear in mind they do not book their own gigs. There have been many attempts by Canadian fans to bring the band north, but so far all attempts have failed. The fall tour has already been booked, so your best chance to see L&F is when they play in Seattle on October 28th (assuming there are any tickets still available).
The fact that this is a Russian based group that simply NAILS our country's brand of music proves without question that music is truly the universal language. Great job as always guys...I'm feeling this!
The best cover band I have ever heard & I hate to call them a cover band....better than the original for most songs....kudos to the sound engineering as well, top notch.
Friggin Hell!!! Leonid's ARRANGEMENT is divergent and super complicated but totaly retains the original groove and vibe, so hard to do. Of course the players and singers are stellar (love the bass kick into the groove) and even though Igor is always my hero on these songs EVERYBODY killed me on this one. And Ksenia is SO SO good without over singing. The magic of music folks, this group has it in spades.
True musicianship is not just playing well. It is also playing well with other musicians and putting your ego last and the music first. This group has reached the pinnacle of ensemble playing. Plus, all the music they choose is very complicated. Each piece is filled with a roller coater ride of dynamics and though they are like a fireworks show the subtleties and delicate "brushwork" in their playing is dazzling. If their performances were paintings they would show a thousand different shades and colors and they would all go together for a perfect scene. There's nothing rote about their playing and nothing they play is simple yet they play as a totally integrated and well oiled machine but... a machine with soul. I get goosebumps listening to and watching their videos. In person they must be breathtaking. Bravo!!!

Just listened to this song again. Last year's show, Ksenia steps to the microphone 🎤 and says "I've got a little surprise for you ' - I had NO idea what was coming next. Then they launched into this song and I was completely blown away by her performance. Their videos are awesome but let me tell you, it's even better in person when they do this song. It was like thunder ⚡⚡⚡. I couldn't believe that I was finally hearing this old Chaka Khan song and nearly 4 decades later I'm finally hearing the song as it was meant to be performed. 👍👍👍😁😁😁😃😃😃
nobodyreally6345 I just saw them in concert last night 9/16/23 in Michigan. Ksenia stepped up to the microphone with yet, another surprise and sang a awesome song. I always wished they would cover a song from this group and my wish came true. I won't spoil it for you because they said the new video should be released at the end of this month. I'll give you a hint, the song is from a brother/sister duo that sold millions of records in the 1970's.

@@zigman8550I made it to the Kansas City September 2023 show. Yes they did the song; awesome. After the show, I got pictures with Igor, Konstantin, Oleg and Leonid separately. First time I officially met Oleg and Leonid. Igor and Konstantin both remembered speaking with me 2 years ago. Show was 3 hours long. I said to Konstantin "God bless you" and Konstantin said "God bless you!" back to me. All the guys were super great. We were applauding in the hotel lobby. A lady started it so I joined in. We made a bit of a ruckus as they were heading off to the elevator. After Igor or Konstantin pics.

Leonid is such a master in so many ways and I’ve never heard a studio sound better. Ever! Video editing is also first class! I’m so impressed and so is all my friends. The band would happily play in Canada, but bear in mind they do not book their own gigs. There have been many attempts by Canadian fans to bring the band north, but so far all attempts have failed. The fall tour has already been booked, so your best chance to see L&F is when they play in Seattle on October 28th (assuming there are any tickets still available).

Friggin Hell!!! Leonid's ARRANGEMENT is divergent and super complicated but totaly retains the original groove and vibe, so hard to do. Of course the players and singers are stellar (love the bass kick into the groove) and even though Igor is always my hero on these songs EVERYBODY killed me on this one. And Ksenia is SO SO good without over singing. The magic of music folks, this group has it in spades.
Hell yeah and I see Igor is playing a DW kit, never noticed that before...I stand corrected, maybe not a DW kit, maybe DDRUM
Igor is a total boss. He jumped out at me from the time their first video dropped.

True musicianship is not just playing well. It is also playing well with other musicians and putting your ego last and the music first. This group has reached the pinnacle of ensemble playing.
Plus, all the music they choose is very complicated. Each piece is filled with a roller coater ride of dynamics and though they are like a fireworks show the subtleties and delicate "brushwork" in their playing is dazzling. If their performances were paintings they would show a thousand different shades and colors and they would all go together for a perfect scene. There's nothing rote about their playing and nothing they play is simple yet they play as a totally integrated and well oiled machine but... a machine with soul.
I get goosebumps listening to and watching their videos. In person they must be breathtaking.

Wow, what a wonderful sound and a fabulous treat to see how much enjoyment the whole ensemble are evidently experiencing during this song. It’s my first listen to this track ever being covered. I only know Chaka’s version and it’s part of my own soundtrack of my life. I really enjoyed listening to this. Must find out more about the group.

Then they launched into this song and I was completely blown away by her performance.
Their videos are awesome but let me tell you, it's even better in person when they do this song.

nobodyreally6345 I just saw them in concert last night 9/16/23 in Michigan. Ksenia stepped up to the microphone with yet, another surprise and sang a awesome song. I always wished they would cover a song from this group and my wish came true. I won't spoil it for you because they said the new video should be released at the end of this month. I'll give you a hint, the song is from a brother/sister duo that sold millions of records in the 1970's.

After the show, I got pictures with Igor, Konstantin, Oleg and Leonid separately. First time I officially met Oleg and Leonid.
Igor and Konstantin both remembered speaking with me 2 years ago. Show was 3 hours long.
I said to Konstantin "God bless you" and Konstantin said "God bless you!" back to me.
All the guys were super great.
We were applauding in the hotel lobby. A lady started it so I joined in.
We made a bit of a ruckus as they were heading off to the elevator. After Igor or Konstantin pics.

Hands down the most talented band on YT. I was privileged to see them in Parker, CO last year and they are very bit as good in person. The arrangements, the talent are second to none.
