a 'lil cartoon poking fun at some of the weird assumptions people make about animation youtubers :D like i said at the end, this is all just exaggerated for comedic effect, even though i do wish people would understand more of what goes into these videos :'3 i still really enjoy making cartoons for you guys, thanks for sticking around!!

ik all animators are very talented, and I respect them all no matter what they make. the skill on these guys and gals is down right jaw dropping. ya'll truly are the best of the best

The sad thing is that the lil details like the bird are completely accurate. No one talks about them, no one loves them. Until they are not there, then everyone will say how bland the background is. Lil details like that are one of the things that are vastly important but are a completely thankless addition.

Yeah a lot of art is like that unfortunately. If we do our jobs right no one will ever notice our work. If we don't everyone will criticize the final product for the lack of [insert detail here]
Just like the IT department, when they are doing their job everyone thinks they are lazy do nothings but if an email takes 1 second too long to get somewhere suddenly it's red alert everywhere.
I almost always try to pay attention to every single detail I can, just to appreciate it all, for this very reason
I honestly have a lot of respect for the animation community. I'm no artist, so seeing what the possibilities are is truly stunning. It's an inspiration, no matter what the content is. Please keep up your amazing progress!

I feel this hard lmao. Animating things are really just not easy at all! They can take days, months or even years to complete. Sometimes there are the fun moments but holy moly it's exhausting as a single person and then when you're trying to get WILLING people to HELP YOU it's insanity. You get these people who say, OH YEAH SURE I'LL HELP! BUT then they just... Sit there... And expect you to do absolutely everything yourself. Even after YOU OFFERED THEM PAYMENT OR ARTWORK OR WHATEVER YOU CAN THINK OF TO ENTICE THEM TO HELP YOU OUT. I just DON'T GET IT. 😭

lets just appreciate how much effort chip puts into these videos. i've just started making silly little animations as a hobby, and OH MY GOSH its way harder and more time consuming than i expected. and to make a whole video with animations? all the little transition animations, all the background animations, backgrounds and DRAWINGS IN GENERAL are so hard, and chip makes them all so amazing! lets just take some time to appreciate that effort ❤

I like the style change the more cartoony character really supports chip's personality also good animation for only a minute I enjoyed every second of it keep up the good work while making time for yourself

This is why I’m perfectly fine with animatics. Gets the story across, without any of the mental destruction; only at the cost of not moving as much, but you can fill in the gaps yourself.
Same with comics and comic dubs!
Animatics are a great way of telling a story as if it was animated without actually having to animate it

Same here and I honestly have a huge respect for those animators who spend days and weeks or maybe even MONTHS just to finish a short video or maybe a bit longer and still keep going for years like that or a small animator who experience alot of pain in their back or their hands and still have the passion to make more , animations isn't just some "cartoons" only for fun they can be comforting , personal for the person and helpful in so many ways too , even if the animator might not like their work or see it as smth simple they don't know that they can be an ocean of beautiful memories and nostalgia in the future that can put a big smile in people's faces and say 'man it's been a long while since I've seen these animations back when I was a kid, I remember how I used to love watching them and I miss it so much' or any type of animations ofc ! wherever it doesn't matter what it is every type of animations have it's own unique style which make them beautiful to watch and look at

This is so true! I’m quite small channel in the yt community, but this is still so relatable! Like, I animated the ‘so you call these thing chips’ meme for fun, finished it in one day, and went like, eh, why not post it, and it’s currently the most popular video on my yt channel. Meanwhile, some others that took me like, weeks and weeks hardly get any views, like, bro!

Being a animator is harder than you think..it takes like hours or days or maybe even years,to make a perfect peice of picture/art.
I am an animator and i agree,well..an animated movie takes years,some months for a long animation,or some hours for a short animation shot.
(Depends the quality of animation and how much fast you can animate)

@@TheGalacticPenguin or even how motivated the person is take me for example I'm animating the warriors series and animating a second series that I'm still writing and it's taking me forever just to get one ep out of warriors into the wild and it's been 1 year since I started this and I think two years since I started writing for my original series called the broken hope and to be completely honest I'm not sure if I want to animate the two series anymore because it's just taking its toll on me to animate it all by myself

What is fun is the fan art and comments one gets from their community
Nah, i find it really fun. (it's still tedious but that bit doesn't really bother me) I'm probably in the phase where no matter what I animate, I'm just happy with my progress!

Yeah true. i feel this man i digitally draw for a hobby and feel bad cause as my skill increased uploads were much more spaced apart. I hate it cause it used to be once every few days nuw once a month maybe two weeks if lucky. Everyone expects it to be fun and easy and its fun if its not a career. I feel bad for you doing this all the time thanks for all the work you do
Moral of the story: It's not easy being an animator, especially not one that manages to be successful in this day and age

At the beginning of this year I was like "ahaha yea no sweat I'll animate this 2 1/2 hour doctor who episode I'll just pace myself and stuff"

And of course sometimes I gotta force myself to finish something.. Jack's Unusual Adventures page 12 has been giving me the stinkeye for like a month now..my art style has changed twice since I last worked on it
as an animator, I can say that's accurate. I love the bounce on your ears btw, that was really well done.
This is pretty accurate for almost any kind of art based project.
Society is pretty cruel to any kind of creator unless you've got some serious investor backing.
Try making a living as an independent writer, musician, or artist. It's fecking impossible without investors.

This reminds me of Rebecca Doodles who made a vent FNF mod where she shows how hard it is to be an independent animator. That's why whenever I see people complaining why their comics or animation series production are so slow, it really ticks me off. How about they put on their shoes and see how hard it really is to animate?! This even applies to gaming devs for crying out loud.

A really nice animation I enjoy is Quazies's Pootis animations. Who knew a little baby bird boy could be so cute, and that Scout makes a good mother? (you know, once he learns how to)
Videogames' animations are slightly easier to make because you are moving a ready 3D model in a premade 3D location and not drawing every single frame by your hand. But that's where the "easier" ends.

Honestly, animating is so much fun, but it's very hard, takes so much time, and it's very very difficult to get any exposure these days.
The worst thing is when you get that feeling that you've done a good amount of work and should go grab a snack, take a break or even go to sleep... when you only finished a tiny parf of the thing

Relatable. Even though I don't do animation much, and I'm not famous, I often just lose the motivation to do my art and think negatively a lot of times.
Your not the only one Chip, mechanics have the same pressure
Try having to crank out as many cars as you can with a deadline depending on the job
As I watch this while animating, it's painful, but it is worth it, although using Adobe Animate is melting my brain.

Me whos been working on a show thats using an app where u make the characters with premade graphics and the bg’s are also premade so i do less work and don’t have to draw the complex characters tons of times but its almost been a year since i started and my mental health has sky rocketed down and i’m still working on the pilot episode: *ToTalLy NoT mE 🥲*
Don't worry I'm doing the same thing except I have 2 series I'm working on one being the warriors series and one being a original work I was planning to turn into a book but I haven't gotten so far in the second thing because it's still being written after like 2 or 4 years I don't know how long it's been since I started it but yeah it's been that long and I still haven't finished it and I started doing animation for the warriors series starting with the prologe of the first book but I started it along time ago and kept quitting and deleting it and kept going with it and then quit it again and doing the same thing over and over again you get the picture and honestly it's taking its toll on me mentally and I hate it I only originally agreed to be a animator for the warriors series until my brain decided it was a good idea to do a book as well and to animate it too.
