Kid Rock really is just shit on for no reason. He works his ass off producing all of his music, while helping produce other peoples music, like Kracker’s, and makes sure they’re all quality, releases it to the masses, and then works his ass off touring while always giving 100%. He never backed down, he never doubted himself, and he was always confident making music. Sure, he’s both said and done some dumb shit. I’ve been a Kid Rock fan for 10 years and love everything before 2001 and don’t really like anything past that. But he still gives it all with his music. Watch one of his concerts and tell me he doesn’t care, or doesn’t give 100%. Listen to his Devil Without A Cause or Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp and tell me he doesn’t try with his music. I don’t listen to Kid Rock just because I love his music, I listen to it because I feel like the music he releases is straight from the soul, has max effort put into it, and was not made to get air play on your local best hits of today radio. I’ve listened to everything. His unreleased tracks, his bootleg tapes, his albums that aren’t available on streaming services, his stuff that is available on streaming services. That’s why I appreciate, maybe I just used this as a sort of reasoning as to why I listen to such a divisive musician.

I love this song for so many reasons, every time it pops up, I listen to it. It reminds me of my boyhood best friend, Lonnie. My parents & his parents lived next door to each other for the first 18 years of mine & Lonnies life. Me & Lonnie did everything together, we learned about life together, we learned about girls together, he stole some of his dads whiskey once & we got drunk for the first time together; and in 1968, me & Lonnie got drafted together. I made it home from Vietnam, Lonnie did not. So looking at this video reminds me of some of the good times that me & Lonnie used to have. Miss you Brother.
