I purchased the Glock 43X as my first handgun ever (and I'm 58 years old)! A friend of mine has 5 or 6 handguns that he let me shoot while I was trying to decide what I wanted to get and one of them was a Glock (not the 43X). I decided right away that I wanted a Glock. I went to the gun shop a couple of weeks later and told them I wanted a Glock and they pulled out a few, one of them being the 43X. As soon as I put it in my hand, I knew it was the gun for me! It felt great and was the right size for me as a conceal/ carry handgun! I've put about 300 rounds through it and I'm absolutely satisfied with it. I carry regularly and find it to be extremely comfortable, yet easy to access. It's also very easy to clean. Personally, I wouldn't trade it for any other handgun. I love my Glock 43X!
This is probably one of the best guns Glock has made. I went with this over the 48 and it’s hard to explain. The 48 just felt like a skinny 19. Not a bad thing and I’ll probably pick one up soon. But the 43X just felt right. I also bought a Sig P365XL too. Same day or the day before, can’t remember. But I’ve since sold the Sig. The 43X shot it’s way to my all time favorite carry gun and I’ve been shooting almost 50 years next March. I’ve put 10-11 thousand rounds through it. I have 8 factory mags, 5 Shield S15 mags and two of those have the 5 round extensions on them. I shoot it every week and it goes where I go no questions asked. No Glock knuckle because the trigger guard is undercut from the factory. Best shooting small gun I’ve ever shot. The Sig P365XL is a great option too, but I found myself shooting this one way more than any other. My son’s friend was begging me to sell him the Sig, so I did. Don’t regret it at all. Love this gun!
I’m curious, ive heard you need to change out the mag release for the s15 mags. Did you do that on yours? Was there a certain amount of rounds that wore out the stock plastic mag release on your 43x?
@@BenG-wq6cb I've not ran into a issue with the polymer release yet. I have the shield mag release but am leaving the polymer one in just because I'm curious about it too. I took the release out at right at 2,000 rounds of the sheild mags and no negative signs yet. If you aren't constantly shooting, you can get away with saving the $ not buying their metal release
@@BenG-wq6cb I have no idea why these replies are just now showing up. I did replace the mag release when I bought the S-15 mags. Didn’t want any chances of the stock mags getting worn and not functioning correctly. Just in case.
It’s a great gun! I got the Stainless Slide, and it’s a gorgeous piece in my opinion. Check out Shield Arms 15rd flush fit mag for it. Along with the the metal mag release. Around $40 for the pair and it’s a great addition!!
Just bought it. I've carried a 42 for several years concealed. Also have 19 & 22. The 43x is the perfect size for me & I'm glad Glock finally made it, as there's many guns to choose from but I've become brand loyal through over a decade of trouble-free Glock ownership.
I shot the 43x and 45 when looking for my first pistol. Being primarily for home defense, I went with the 45 mainly do to the light mounting ability with a large round count. However the size was excellent on the 43x, and considering it as an EDC.
Weird I literally walked into sportsman’s warehouse last night and picked one up. I was looking for a glock 48 or smith wesson mp shield couldn’t find any of those and the 43x is all they had it fit like a glove when I picked it up. So I had to buy it
Had my 43x for about two months now got around 650 rounds through it...fmj jhp ate everything I fed it ...very reliable and accurate...it is now in my edc rotation along with my 26 Gen 4....great little gun
I held and shot the 43x for the first time today and it immediately felt better and I shot way better with it than my main handgun. Wasn’t even planning on buying a gun today. Lets just say I have $500 less on my bank account for some reason
I have been carrying a 43 with Pearce and TT plus one base plates since they came out. I wanted a 43X so I bought the 48/43X frame with a magazine. I picked up few spare magazines to go with it. So I swap the frame depending on what I need. I carry the 43 at work as I need a very compact gun at work. I carry it in 43X configuration all other times.
Love me some 43x! It’s now my primary EDC ccw gun, about 90% of the time. It made my 43 go back into the safe, except maybe during summer months again and with light clothing. I also carry the G48 ccw at times too, it just depends on what I’m wearing. I own ever model of Glock 9mm made or sold in the USA. I think my 19 Gen5 is still my “if I could only have one” gun, while the 43x comes in 2nd place.
I bought a 43X in May 2019. I installed a SS guide rod, XS Big Dot sights, rubber Talon grip wrap and an Overwatch Precision trigger assembly. Since owning and running around 1350 rounds through it, out of the eight Glock's I've carried, this is my favorite. I did have the slide refinished in a blk industrial PVD finish. The silver didn't hold up well.
I bought a 43X about a month ago and like it a lot. Bought some Shield magazines and changed the release button but haven't tested it yet. I will soon.
I own a glock 43x ....Have around 500 rounds down range not one malfunction but my 19 and 42 model have never malfunction either ... not surprised ...not pretty guns but will fire when the trigger is pulled
I carry it appendix. But I need it canted to the right for when I'm sitting. I had a hernia surgery a few years back and get random ghost pains in my lower right abdomen but the 43x doesn't bother me. I'm sold on it. Got 3 S15 mags for it and they function perfectly. Very nice combo
Also using the Werkz m6 holster. Super high quality and so glad my first holster purchase was a good fit for me. No need to waste more money trying to find the one
Just got one last week and put about 100 rounds thru is also, shot great! And i put the same exact sights on it tonight but I got the orange ones. I'm excited I've never shot the XS sights as of yet, I use the Ameriglo I dot Pro on my 19 so hopefully I like them. Great video cheers!
I like how you talk how engagements with hits and misses. Something not too many address. Under extreme stress odds are you are going to miss a few shots. So take that 7 round Glock 43 and it’s more like a 4 or 5 round really
Nice review. I am also smaller in stature and love the Glock 43X (4,000 rounds). I installed Ameriglo i-dot sights and find them exceptional. I also replaced the trigger with an Overwatch Precision PolyDAT duty ready trigger, which I also love, as well as a Ghost Connector. I also use the Shield Arms mag catch and S15 mags (750 rounds without issue). That said, my actual preferred EDC is the Taurus Spectrum (3,400 rounds without issue) in either pocket or ankle holster.
I’ve had my 43x for about 3 months now and have put about 200 rounds through it. I have to be honest, when I first fired this gun... I HATED IT. I’m still not a big fan of the Gen 5 grips, but with practice over the past few times at the range and it’s definitely “growing on me”. My edc is a G19 gen4 that I load with G17 mag w/ a x-grip. I do love the 43x in AIWB!
I just bought one. I put 150 rds thru it and I hate the thing as well. I think I’ll just try and train thru it.. see what happens. I also love the overwatch drop in triggers. Gonna get that and sights and just shoot the hell out of it. I hope, like you, I come to like it. At least I’ll be proficient.
I own the Glock X and best option for carry away from home. It’s highly concealable and wears very comfortable in the waistband all round the body. Considering you may never use your weapon in anger, comfort should be high on the list as to why something this thin, 10 and 15 round options is amazing
I would like to see more on guns, knifes and axes. As for the Glock 43. I've never been a huge fan so I went with the Shield. However the 43x has my interest peaked. Not for me but for a few folks I know. Thanks for the solid vid. I hope your well Sir.
I may have to look at this. I sold the glock 43 because for its size, I would want more rounds. The glock 19 is still a tad big for my everyday clothing. I will compare this to the 48 for my next carry option
I like my 43x better than my Shield. Glock is less bulky, and with factory mags, holds 2 more rounds (10) than the extended mags on the Shield (8). However, the Shield Arms magazines are a game changer. With those, I get 15 rounds (!) out of a standard 43x sized magazine. So full size pistol firepower in a concealed carry size. What is not to love?
I'm 6'4 and 285 lbs and I find it very comfortable but my father is 5'10 220lbs and finds it very uncomfortable 😕... honestly agree with you on its all about preference
FYI I'm a Sig guy but I was at a gun shop in Fredericksburg a month ago and a guy with his wife were looking at carry guns for his wife hands down they choose the Glock 43x over the M&P 2.0 to be honest with you I like the 43x also
Glock 43X nice and light I got lucky and bought a dark earth from palmetto state armory on this Septembers last Thursday and the very next Monday I was picking it up from my local ffl I used to carry a Glock 26 but the Glock 26 a bit heavy the only good thing I like about the G26 is that you can use the other bigger Glocks in 9MM magazines with the Glock 43x I’ll have to buy magazines other than that nice dependable gun
I picked up the 43x as soon as these were became a thought. I ended up grabbing 3 from the second batch that they released and love them. One in the gun, one in the truck and one extra in the safe at all times
I think the Taurus G3c stold the show from the G43x. 3 12-round mags, an improved trigger, the ability to mount Glock sights on it & the rail option for a weapon light, at a better than competitive price is a winner for the G3c. I was going to go with the G43x as both a CC pistol & home defense pistol for the wife (when I'm not home), but the G3c edged out the Glock by a wide margin on this front. That said, I own 3 Glocks, but they all serve a particular purpose from primary duty weapon (G45), my gen 4 G19 being a backup duty weapon & home defense gun & CC pistol, & my G19x being a trail pistol paired to my battle belt rig for those trips into sticks. I generally like my pistols to serve multiple purposes.
Thanks for making such a great video about the Glock 43x. I'm trying to decide between the Glock 43x MOS and the P365xl. It's been tough trying to decide between the two. I love my Walther PPQ and M&P Compact, but it would be nice to carry something smaller and lighter.
They are both good guns. I have a lot more experience with Glock handguns. If your are not planning on using the gun for pocket carry. I would personally go with the Glock 43X.
I’m a retired gun dealer and I can tell you Sig firearms are good but I’ve never been impressed by Sigarms customer service. Not that good. Glock customer service was good. Beretta was the worst. Actually stopped selling Berettas just because of customer service. Smith & Wesson customer service blew everyone out of the water. They were outstanding. Number one in my book. Ruger was second. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
I had the Sig 365 with an XL grip module. But I usually shoot Glock 19 and 23 and I found shooting the Sig messed up my muscle memory for the Glock draw and presentation (front sight too high). So I sold the Sig and got a G43X for appendix carry. Perfect with the new 15 round mags.
43x is an amazing handgun I switched to the shield like a idiot and said screw it went back to the 43x again and not looking back got a awesome appendix rig set up holster mag combo connected to eachother and is amazing my martial art coach carry’s it and his is set up like a beast has so many cool setups on all his guns 👍
Almost a good video! I'm just finding out today that the 43X even exists, so I'm behind the curve on this one, but it would have been nice if you would have included basic comparison stats like barrel lengths, grip heights, etc. I'm sure there's not a terrible difference in the length of barrel etc, maybe they're even the same, but it was not mentioned. Now I have to go look for other videos or just go to the website for glock.
Nice range there, every mans dream. I've got kinda big hands but no problemo. On a fast draw from holster the grip takes some getting used to but WHAT? We're talkin CQ here! From maybe the high ready but with the XS sights you almost can't miss either way, gets your eye on it (the target) quick. Carry an 2 mag. holster as well. Thats 31 rnds. including 1 in the tube. Love my Glock.
Hey, I just found your video here, and watched it. I wanted to say some things to you in response to some of the things you were saying here in your video about the g43x. You seemed to be very happy and surprised at how great the g43x feels in your hands, and how you are able to shoot with it. I wanted to point out that you are feeling that way because of the HAND GRIP! it is longer, and deceptively much more significant and comfortable to most everyones hands! : / yes, and THAT is why this gun is so great, in a compact body. The 10 +1 round capacity is great too, as you mentioned. I wanted to talk more about the grip because you mention the 19 and the 43 and how some people with bigger hands, dont have a problem with the smaller grips of those guns? BUT i know when they put their hands around this grip? they will choose this gun over those others for that very reason! And here is ultimately why. The better your grip on the gun? the better control you have! the better control you have, the more accuracy you have ( and less recoil as well ) And that means, more confidence in hitting your target if you ever have to defend or protect yourself ( ofcourse we all have to practice alot ) But That is the difference. Also this hand grip isnt just longer, its narrow and thin and just has a certain magic to it. Its the same with the g48 and the g45 ( which i say is theee best all around hand gun being made today ) have you tried that one yet? the g43x is an improved g43 with extras.. But it is a summer, light t shirt, light shorts conceal carry defense tool! the g 45 is for the evenings and cooler days when you can wear more concealing clothing.. ) seriously, you need to check that gun out if you havent already. and if you had? you would have mentioned it, because it is as perfect as perfect can be in this life ) But the g43x is a back up gun too. Its small, lightweight, comfortable and as a back up will take care of you very well! And that is what its all about with guns. Tools to defend and protect ourselves and others if ever needed... ( again, you have to check out the g45! ) : ) so yeah, that is all i wanted to say.. all the best ~
"Crotchular" haha. Anyways, my cousin, who's got a similar build to me, has a 43X, but he isn't a fan of it. My concern with the original 43 is the shortness of the grip, so the extended grip of the 43X is certainly appealing. Hopefully I'll be able to get some trigger time with it, sooner rather than later.
Excellent handgun for it's intended purpose. I hate glock in general, but I know a winner when I see it. I bought the ameriglo upgrade only because it was cheaper with my blue label discount, but I wish I went with a setup like your sights. What kind of holster do you use?
I do not understand why Glock sells their guns with plastic sights. I like Sig over Glock for that reason. The Sig p365 and p365 XL are good to go right out of the box, no modifications necessary.
I am a recent 43x owner and wish you would have explained better your rear and front sight choice as opposed to 'U' rear stock MFG choice and also is the MOS 43x worth the dollars or could I get the slide cut difference?
Just get a 43. If you want more rounds, add a mag extension. It’s easier to add rounds and make the pistol bigger. You can’t make the bigger firearm smaller.

I've had mine for a year and it has served me well as a carry gun. I bought the glock night sights version and am glad i did.
You need to get the Shield Arms s15 mag. Without increasing the height of the gun, it increases capacity to 15 rds

Did you have to change out the slide release to run those like I’ve heard about?
I did change out the mag release to an aluminium one. The mettle mags would start to damage the plastic.

I may have to look at this. I sold the glock 43 because for its size, I would want more rounds. The glock 19 is still a tad big for my everyday clothing. I will compare this to the 48 for my next carry option

I like my 43x better than my Shield. Glock is less bulky, and with factory mags, holds 2 more rounds (10) than the extended mags on the Shield (8). However, the Shield Arms magazines are a game changer. With those, I get 15 rounds (!) out of a standard 43x sized magazine. So full size pistol firepower in a concealed carry size. What is not to love?
I'm 6'4 and 285 lbs and I find it very comfortable but my father is 5'10 220lbs and finds it very uncomfortable 😕... honestly agree with you on its all about preference

FYI I'm a Sig guy but I was at a gun shop in Fredericksburg a month ago and a guy with his wife were looking at carry guns for his wife hands down they choose the Glock 43x over the M&P 2.0 to be honest with you I like the 43x also

Glock 43X nice and light I got lucky and bought a dark earth from palmetto state armory on this Septembers last Thursday and the very next Monday I was picking it up from my local ffl I used to carry a Glock 26 but the Glock 26 a bit heavy the only good thing I like about the G26 is that you can use the other bigger Glocks in 9MM magazines with the Glock 43x I’ll have to buy magazines other than that nice dependable gun

I picked up the 43x as soon as these were became a thought. I ended up grabbing 3 from the second batch that they released and love them. One in the gun, one in the truck and one extra in the safe at all times

I think the Taurus G3c stold the show from the G43x. 3 12-round mags, an improved trigger, the ability to mount Glock sights on it & the rail option for a weapon light, at a better than competitive price is a winner for the G3c. I was going to go with the G43x as both a CC pistol & home defense pistol for the wife (when I'm not home), but the G3c edged out the Glock by a wide margin on this front. That said, I own 3 Glocks, but they all serve a particular purpose from primary duty weapon (G45), my gen 4 G19 being a backup duty weapon & home defense gun & CC pistol, & my G19x being a trail pistol paired to my battle belt rig for those trips into sticks. I generally like my pistols to serve multiple purposes.

Thanks for making such a great video about the Glock 43x. I'm trying to decide between the Glock 43x MOS and the P365xl. It's been tough trying to decide between the two. I love my Walther PPQ and M&P Compact, but it would be nice to carry something smaller and lighter.

They are both good guns. I have a lot more experience with Glock handguns. If your are not planning on using the gun for pocket carry. I would personally go with the Glock 43X.
I’m a retired gun dealer and I can tell you Sig firearms are good but I’ve never been impressed by Sigarms customer service. Not that good. Glock customer service was good. Beretta was the worst. Actually stopped selling Berettas just because of customer service. Smith & Wesson customer service blew everyone out of the water. They were outstanding. Number one in my book. Ruger was second. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
Get the 43x and then buy the Shield Arms 15 round mags for it.

I had the Sig 365 with an XL grip module. But I usually shoot Glock 19 and 23 and I found shooting the Sig messed up my muscle memory for the Glock draw and presentation (front sight too high). So I sold the Sig and got a G43X for appendix carry. Perfect with the new 15 round mags.
43x is an amazing handgun I switched to the shield like a idiot and said screw it went back to the 43x again and not looking back got a awesome appendix rig set up holster mag combo connected to eachother and is amazing my martial art coach carry’s it and his is set up like a beast has so many cool setups on all his guns 👍
I don't really care for single stacked guns but I'm thinking about a 43X just for casual wear when i go out for special occasion...
Almost a good video! I'm just finding out today that the 43X even exists, so I'm behind the curve on this one, but it would have been nice if you would have included basic comparison stats like barrel lengths, grip heights, etc. I'm sure there's not a terrible difference in the length of barrel etc, maybe they're even the same, but it was not mentioned. Now I have to go look for other videos or just go to the website for glock.
Nice range there, every mans dream. I've got kinda big hands but no problemo. On a fast draw from holster the grip takes some getting used to but WHAT? We're talkin CQ here! From maybe the high ready but with the XS sights you almost can't miss either way, gets your eye on it (the target) quick. Carry an 2 mag. holster as well. Thats 31 rnds. including 1 in the tube. Love my Glock.
I have XL size hands and finding a small pistol for carry that's actually comfortable to shoot is difficult.
Hey, I just found your video here, and watched it. I wanted to say some things to you in response to some of the things you were saying here in your video about the g43x. You seemed to be very happy and surprised at how great the g43x feels in your hands, and how you are able to shoot with it. I wanted to point out that you are feeling that way because of the HAND GRIP! it is longer, and deceptively much more significant and comfortable to most everyones hands! : / yes, and THAT is why this gun is so great, in a compact body. The 10 +1 round capacity is great too, as you mentioned. I wanted to talk more about the grip because you mention the 19 and the 43 and how some people with bigger hands, dont have a problem with the smaller grips of those guns? BUT i know when they put their hands around this grip? they will choose this gun over those others for that very reason! And here is ultimately why. The better your grip on the gun? the better control you have! the better control you have, the more accuracy you have ( and less recoil as well ) And that means, more confidence in hitting your target if you ever have to defend or protect yourself ( ofcourse we all have to practice alot ) But That is the difference. Also this hand grip isnt just longer, its narrow and thin and just has a certain magic to it. Its the same with the g48 and the g45 ( which i say is theee best all around hand gun being made today ) have you tried that one yet? the g43x is an improved g43 with extras.. But it is a summer, light t shirt, light shorts conceal carry defense tool! the g 45 is for the evenings and cooler days when you can wear more concealing clothing.. ) seriously, you need to check that gun out if you havent already. and if you had? you would have mentioned it, because it is as perfect as perfect can be in this life ) But the g43x is a back up gun too. Its small, lightweight, comfortable and as a back up will take care of you very well! And that is what its all about with guns. Tools to defend and protect ourselves and others if ever needed... ( again, you have to check out the g45! ) : ) so yeah, that is all i wanted to say.. all the best ~

"Crotchular" haha. Anyways, my cousin, who's got a similar build to me, has a 43X, but he isn't a fan of it. My concern with the original 43 is the shortness of the grip, so the extended grip of the 43X is certainly appealing. Hopefully I'll be able to get some trigger time with it, sooner rather than later.

Excellent handgun for it's intended purpose. I hate glock in general, but I know a winner when I see it. I bought the ameriglo upgrade only because it was cheaper with my blue label discount, but I wish I went with a setup like your sights. What kind of holster do you use?
I do not understand why Glock sells their guns with plastic sights. I like Sig over Glock for that reason. The Sig p365 and p365 XL are good to go right out of the box, no modifications necessary.
Because Glock knows people are going to change them out anyways for the sights they prefer.
I think it has to do with some import restrictions regarding the tritium (?) I could be wrong

I am a recent 43x owner and wish you would have explained better your rear and front sight choice as opposed to 'U' rear stock MFG choice and also is the MOS 43x worth the dollars or could I get the slide cut difference?
Just get a 43. If you want more rounds, add a mag extension. It’s easier to add rounds and make the pistol bigger. You can’t make the bigger firearm smaller.
