  • Coniston Magnificent Seven - Solo Lake District Hike
    - 9 Summits including 7 Wainwrights.
    I decided to get use early and pick a random route out of my "Walking the Wainwrights in 36 Walks" book. As you saw int he last video, I passed Coniston on the Cumbria Way so it felt apt to return to Coniston and head up the Old Man which is a first time for me.
    It was a real shame about the views from some of the summits but had a great walk and really enjoyed it. It was really unlike me to struggle with cramp and some muscle ache on this one. I've been struggling with my knees a little after the recent back to back long walks so it may be that however it didn't stop me that day.
    I also have some amazing news about the drone.....I have it back! As you can see, I lost in in the Slate and didn't even try looking for it as through it would be futile. However after being home and posting my pics the following day, someone local to Coniston enquired about my drone as they walk there frequently and mentioned they could have a look for me. A few hours later he contacted me - he found it! I was honestly amazed as my insurance was looking to cost £175 which I really don';t have at the moment but thankfully he's posted me the drone back and I can just do a smaller claim to repair the drone and battery and get up and running again.
    It goes to show there are some great honest people out there and I am very grateful.
    Summits:
    ⛰️ Lad Stones (616 m)
    ⛰️ Wetherlam (763 m)
    ⛰️ Black Sails (745 m)
    ⛰️ Swirl How (802 m)
    ⛰️ Great Carrs (785 m)
    ⛰️ Grey Friar (773 m)
    ⛰️ Brim Fell (796 m)
    ⛰️ Dow Crag (778 m)
    ⛰️ The Old Man of Coniston (802 m)
    Hope you enjoy the video.

      Cheers Ian. It’s a long but cracking hike to tag off all the wainwrights around there in one go. Although can also do in smaller sections if need be

      Love that! It’s a great feeling isn’t it when you want to get out hiking. Just a shame about the weather this week with the storms coming in so not out myself either. Can’t wait to get out again.
      I managed to get the drone back from someone online in a group. They walk their dog there and offered to go and look and posted it back to me when they found it. Very lucky.

    Hi Kris, another good video but a shame about your drone 😕 keep them coming and looking forward to hear about your future plans. Have you not thought about hiking the pennine way yet?

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  Год назад +1

      Cheers Mark. Amazed that I’ve actually got it back now. Someone saw my post about it and lives around there so went and had a look for me and managed to find and send it back to me. Needs a few repairs but saved me a fortune. So lucky!
      I always fancied the Pennine way way before the coast to coast but since doing that I’ve not been as keep for the Pennine way as it’s pretty bleak. At some stage I probably will but for the length of time it would take us rather do some smaller other trails which would work better for now.

    Also, what's the black with orange trim jacket your wearing mate?. I can see it's a omm type.

    • @krisgleave
      @krisgleave  Год назад +1

      It’s the OMM Kamleika 5th Generation jacket. Super lightweight so handy to take. Don’t always wear it but do like it
