My biggest issue was "Start Times" like you mentioned in this video. The Landscapers that put in my system created 4 start times for Program A. This was causing my sprinklers to water excessively. Once I deleted the other 3 start times everything started working properly. I can see where the abbreviation ST can be confused for STATION and I believe this is the part that is not intuitive in the menu. ST in this menu stands for Start Time and not STATION. Once you understand this area the rest of the timer is very simple to operate. I'm a true believer that if many folks are making the same mistake then the engineering can be improved to be more intuitive. I really appreciate your video. Your video specifically addressed my issue of it being stuck in an endless watering loop. My guess is that the person that initially programmed it thought ST stood for STATION and since I have four stations programmed a time for each station and instead programmed four Start Times.

Really appreciate your focus--- "for beginners." Yeah! . AND I like that you're a real person. PLUS super appreciate your going slow, even repeating things, pausing, All of this quite helpful for beginners. I've never set a timer before & I canNOT find the manual. The person who installed our irrigation really wasn't into showing me how to do it (yet I told him before he took the job I needed for him to teach me everything .) So, your teaching pulled me out of a hole of confusion. --- BTW: Please consider re-doing the video so viewer doesn't have to twist head to see everything.

thank you for the video! I have a question, if I program the irrigation and turn it to manual should I expect it to work as I programmed it or it needs to be turn to auto in order to do so. Best regards
It all depends ! When you turn the dial in manual it will ask you if you want to run a specific zone or if you want to run them all.
If you choose manual all ...it will then ask you how much time you want the zones to run.
It will then run each zone at your desired time that you have chosen.
You can then turn the dial back to auto so that it can go back to its normal programming once the manual all run time is complete.

My doubt is that I program the irrigation but I wanted to skip a couple of days so I turned it to manual expecting not to get water at all but it continued running the program and watered the landscaping. I thought something was wrong with the equipment

Question if I had payed new sod 3 months ago here in souther cali would u so 2run times or switch it to only 1 run time?
Depending on the weather 3 to 2 times per day for 2 weeks. Then the sod should be rooted in. Then you apply a good fertilizer to green things up
@@progreengroundservices4038 any good fertilizer you suggest? The sod that I had put down is marathon /tall fescue. Ans weather out here right now is in the upper 85-95
@@hanzohattorri2471 there are so many brands. You want a fertilizer that is rich in iron and nitrogen..to prevent drought and it will hold more water.

How you cut it off in the winter time
There is a seasonal adjust on that timer. I will show you how to use or access it. You can have the timer run at 20% insted of 100% ..or you can just leave it off by manually turning it off. Or you can shut it of through your rainbird APP!!

If you cut it off Please make sure you turn it on at least once or twice in that month! This sometimes keeps the grass from frosting up
