I don't know how old you are...but I was 23 yrs old when I first heard this ABBA dance track. It was around October of 1980...but it wasn't until February & March of 81..when people would cheer, roar & quickly run to the dance floor as soon as the intro of this track came on. It made it to #1on many charts...including Billboard Magazine's Disco chart. The really strange part was that this song wasn't meant to be released as a single. I guess that's why there is no actual video to this song. Bjorn & Benny should reconsider releasing a new video to celebrate 40 yr anniversary! Yikes!!! ..... I cannot believe it will be 40 yrs old towards the end of this year. To date...still my ABBA favorite. Thanks for posting your video.🎼👍

The bass, guys, the BASS! Rutger Gunarsson commenting the lyrics throughout... The synths! The SYNTHS! And of course the plaintiff narrative by Queen Agnetha, followed by royalty BBA chorus and the vocal "plunge" provided by Wiz Michael Tretow. What else?? Dance to it.Repeat.

Lay All Your Love On Me, Visitors, and On and On and On were all hugely popular in gay club's in the early 80s. I think it was because that pounding bass (amped up by the clubs audio system) allowed you to dance in place even if you were drunk and high on poppers. Ah, the memories 🤣

The extended “club” version is really awesome too! The middle portion of the extended version has a fierce synth drum break repeated over and over like it’s looping back onto itself and then bang it goes back into the frantic full on synth banger of a song. Was quite a departure from the output of ABBA up to that point. Still holds up today and still sounds fresh. I LOVED your reaction when listening to this epic track. I feel the same way everytime I listen to it.

This was actually in reality a Number One Single for ABBA. It was released at the time only as a ‘Limited’ 12” Single back in the Summer of 1981. I was helping a friend out at a Record Store at the time, and we couldn’t get enough copies of this because it was ‘Limited’. I understood at the time that this was the same situation across the country, and so had we been able to supply by the demand we were receiving, there is no doubt in my mind that this would have given ABBA yet another Chart Topper in the UK making it ten instead of the nine they had. As it was, it peaked at Number 7 before rapidly falling away from the Chart because of the sheer lack of supply only... As nice as it was to give a ‘Limited’ Edition for their fans and Collectors, I really couldn’t understand why they did not release this as a proper Single... I guess it just goes to show, unlike many other Bands, they weren’t out just to make money!

    🧡 ABBA !
1975 to 1985, the era of great disco. And ABBA was right there to add to the hours and hours and hours of dancing in the clubs. Mixed by a good deejay and no one stood on the sidelines. Wish I could take you back in time. You'd dance your pants off. The memories will always be with me listening to songs like this. There may not be a video to this original, but if ABBA starts touring again, you know there will be as they introduce new fans to these classics.
Thank you so much for bringing those days back. Your reaction is fantastic, Dereck.
For the love of music - Peace.

I have so many favorites its hard to pick! But, being in the clubs when this came out, this is my absolutely favorite to THIS DAY! I still listen to it, its bittersweet as the song has such an unbeatable awesome tempo, the words somehow make me sad. It was a time in my life when I was really "looking for love", and so the words are powerfully strong for me. But, I can say one thing, I would put this song to the test against ANY of the club songs today. It's simply timeless. Also, I remember just getting truly "Lost" in the music as it pumped through the speakers. (especially the chorus, which sounds like a huge choir). I later learned that the brilliant Bjorn ran their chorus back through I think a Vocoder? and it created this magnificent sound! ABBA is to be praised for their instrumentation technology which was light years ahead!!!! ABBA 4EVER~WELCOME BACK ~

I just discovered that song myself very recently and I love it. How come there was no music video to this. This is heavenly. The sounds are amazing and reminded me of early Yazoo and Depeche Mode (the Speak & Spell album). This song manage to be happy and sad at the same time. How could they do that ?! Love it, love it, love it. Pure genius Benny & Björn as always.
