Stringmaster Tooltip SHOULD read: "Upon dealing Resonance DMG, increase ATK by 12%. This effect lasts 5s, and stacks up to 2 times. When the equipped Resonator is not on the field, this effect is DOUBLED."
The reason is mostly likely due to how absurdly safe quick swap is, you're not trading anything for practically being invulnerable almost all the time. So they're keeping the safety aspect of the style while keeping its damage potential in check. And the style is not even that hard just takes a lil bit of practice.
Quick swapping wasn't mandatory, but was an option that rewards players for their skill. Moreover, smooth and dynamic quickswappy gameplay is what distinguishes Wuwa from other similar games. I find Calcharo on-field gameplay quite long and boring, so i seriously dislike this nerf. And i don't like this Mihoyo-alike approach of weakening characters on purpose just to sell new characters later (with quickswap gameplay for example).

I prefer the non quick swap approach aswell so that we should pay more attention to ennemies attack pattern instead of abusing the I-frames you get from quick swapping It’s just a bit unfortunate that Calcharo is clunky but it’s a standard dps, can’t expect too much

Yup, that nerf was stupid IMO. It's not like everyone can do it. Quickswap was also alot safer to play than making Calcharo and future electro dps stay onfield.
I'm having fun with her just by making her my main dps tbh. I just swap on her long animations to my Rover, then back and forth. Just normal swaps tho, nothing fancy as cancel swapping because you know, skill issue, I have no patience to learn how to do that and don't want to tbh. I'm just an average enjoyer. Not a meta machine.

This case seems to the opposite of Jiyan's weapon issue, the translation make the Yinlin's weapon looks weaker than it really is, and if people want to pull on it there is still time to save astrites and pull. I hope Kuro fixes it and compensate us properly, 5-10 limited weapon pulls would be good. And about the skill passive mistranslation,it concerns me for the future characters... I really hope they improve the quality and expand their localization team
Kuro needs to get their act together on how they envision the combat should be. The change to intro/outro was a nice change, which is why I prefer it over the old mechanic they had in place. However, seeing as they were rushed (at least from my perspective), they are losing sight of what they wanted it to be. Preferably like you, I would prefer the latter style of combat since it makes use of the concerto mechanic properly. Quick swapping yeah it can be flashy, but really its just a means to exploit the game if Kuro did not intend for this to be abused. If Kuro is not in favor of quick swapping, perhaps we will see increased cooldown between swap, that and a global cooldown in regards to just all characters so swapping to unique characters in combat is put in check. Overall just a perspective so won't know for sure.
Imagine if the translation error is nerfing encore. There's so many people skip yinlin and pulled the weapon just for encore. It will be another verdant summit issue lol
@@Keykey70 It's basically a stat stick just like Verdant for Calcharo, but Verdant kinda buffs Calcharo's down time at the very least after you use his intro. The effect doesn't do much for Encore on field outside of the crit and blanket damage buff. The ATK% being more broken when you're off field does nothing for someone who is literally your main DPS and doesn't have off field attacks to keep the attack buff up regardless.
The most tilting thing about quickswapping for me is not losing outro buffs. For me it's using 2 stage skills. If you activate the first part of the skill, then swap out. It immediately gets set to the larger cooldown locking you out of the second part of the skill if you quickswap back. It takes away a lot of freedom stringing combo's together. I don't care much for how powerful buffs are, I just want to be free in how I press my buttons 😮💨
Yeah this seems to me a very targeted move to nerf calcharo yinlin specifically, because other units like encore or calcharo himself can still use the rest of their Skills post swap
The thing is even when mistranslated the weapon is undeniably strong and is actually much stronger than what is stated. The most that we would get from this is I think a fair enough 160 astrites lmao. If they correct this more people would actually try to pull for knowing how much more ridiculous the weapon really is for Yinlin.
Outro buffs used to persist as long as the unit they applied to didn't entirely leave the field. E.g Calcharos Death Messenger has a 2s animation time. You initiate the cast, swap, do a Skill on somebody else (just an example), swap back to Calcharo, and he's still just finishing his animation so you can pick up where you left off. They changed Outro's to disappear upon SWAP, so the above no longer works. Yinlin's passive boosts Calcharos damage by more than 30%. That's all lost upon swap.
As a Genshin player the thing that really stood out to me about WuWa's combat was the quickswaps and animation canceling. The more laid back style of, execute perfect rotation, swap, execute perfect rotation, swap, ect works in Genshin because of the underlying reaction system and how characters kits play off and synergize with each other. Without the reaction system though executing perfect rotations would be robotic. WuWa on the other hand doesn't have a complicated underlying system to keep tight rotations interesting. It does have 3 different energy mechanics which gives it depth but currently other than outro buffs characters exist mostly individually with little synergy or reactivity to each other. But what WuWa does have is extremely responsive swapping, animation canceling, and attack parrying. WuWa leaning into rotations instead of the fluid quickswap playstyle feels like playing up their weaknesses instead of their strength. At least for me. Also properly animation canceling with quickswaps is skill expression and I don't see why Kuro is trying to limit that? Just an odd choice imo and I hope the game takes a different direction in the future.
Yes, this. Seeing all the characters on screen more often even while solo playing is great. Feels much more like console JRPGs that do that as their main deal. WuWa isn't gonna take a huge bite out of Genshin playerbase. Nobody ever will until Genshin does something miraculously stupid that they implode on themselves. Yes, it will take something even worse than 3rd anniversary debacle. I'm really sad WuWa devs seem to be steadily saying "No" to quickswap especially during cbt they said it was a bug and will get "fixed". At least make it into a sub-mechanic of intro/outro with its own pros and cons. With cool stuff like quickswap/swap cancels here, it actually looks like "Hey it's not just another mobile game.".
The question is whether performing a swap cancel on characters like Encore and Calcharo, where they don't lose their ult when we swap back to them, is considered as being off the field? It could be that it's still counted as being on the field, because they don't lose their ult, so technically they also don't lose that buff.
This one I agree with, and rotations with only 3 characters felt lackluster not to mention no reactions and whatnot, making "playing up their weaknesses" as u said is all I see here.
The mechanic is defo there. But i dont think Kuro want to create units designed to perfectly quickswap yet. We are so early into the game after all and it's not like you cant do quickswap playstyle right now. YES you lose the buff but overall DPS is still very high if you like quickswapping even if you lose some buff. It's still really good right now. Especially if you play Sanhua where the buff are just extra thing that nobody cares about. Quickswap is legit still really good especially for survivability. In fact if Kuro keeps all the buff, Quick Swaps become something broken af instead of sidegrade for some team. Like for Sanhua Calcharo team you want to utilize quickswap. But in Yinlin team You dont want to quickswap but you still can and the damage is still good. I dont see the problem in how Kuro does it. Not Limiting the buff would just make Quickswapping THE ONLY BEST PLAY. Quickswap already offers great survivability and now you want it to be even better ? Nah man. Parrying and Dodging on field with one unit takes more skill imo. Especially with Calcharo who's hitboxes are quick. This takes more skill to do.

It was pretty mechanically difficult to know what animations could be canceled, canceling them into a character who can perform an action that allows you to swap back before the first characters animation ends, and repeat while advancing your forte bar and liberation energy, all while dodging and parrying enemies.
Yes, I agree that is concerning, Kuro is hiring more translators just now that they're quitting their debt. But they should have invested in it way before CBT2.

I really like having the option of quickswap, because it gives flexibility to my gameplay. It’s a shame you get punished for doing it, and makes it feels to me like the smoother and more skillful way of playing her is « worse » than it should be. I don't think CN's wording is perfect either, but at least they say "this EFFECT is increased by 12% when off-field", effect implying each "stack". but yes it should be worded better on both ends.
I agree with you. I don't play quick swap either because of skill issue. But it is very fun seeing hardcore players come up with broken strats that require very high mechanical skills.
I don't really think it's a skill issue. It's just when you read some of the outro skills, you do get some good ass buffs. Why play like a maniac and strain your fingers faster when you just can play normally and deal big pp damage in a single rotation.

Outro buffs are supposed to not appear in the stat page.Anything that's a deepen buff will not show up because it's a separate multiplier but it works fine
I heard swap cancel works anyway as she counts as off field even though she is technically still on field similar to how you lose outro buff when you swap cancel because you are no longer counted as on field even though the character visually is
I dislike outro buffs disappearing when swapping off, but that's purely because I always forget what outros do what, so my swapping is always wrong, so me swapping again basically just wastes my outros. I'm not a quick-swapper, but I just wish the outros weren't exclusively for the next character 90% of the time and were instead just a team thing like Verina's. It would make the game a lot more beginner/noob friendly while letting quick-swappers have their playstyle too.

Yeah I agree with you. The idea of having to swap cancel every animation sounds awful to me. I love being a sweaty gamer in the tower, but I’m fine if an animation takes a second to cast. As long as I can eventually full clear then I don’t care about shaving off every possible second.
I agree with you on quick swapping, but I don't really consider it a skill issue. I play my characters to, you know, "play" with them. If I'm quick swapping every second what an I even doing. Quick swapping echoes is fine, but like swapping back and in forth without building that Outro/intro, I don't like that. I always do all my bullshit on Yinlin and then finish with Churro.
Shes offield dps i don't see how can she benefit from swaps all that much, her e and normals are worthless so after you built her forte theres no point swapping back to her. Quick swap is more for characters that have long heavy attacks worth swapping in for like Changli E skill or forte heavy.
Played yin lin with aero marksman boy (aalto). I am impressed by how aalto can literally distract enemies while yinlin punishes them by whipping them into shape. He also gets a free dash, though he's level 5 for me right now cuz i just use him for exploration. [Currently in early game.] XD
i think they should let the people who want to quick swap to do their quick swap. most people is not going to be taht sweaty anyway. but it creat a higer ceiling for people who want to. jsut dont balance the game around quick swap, but I think they should leave the option in there for people to play with

So this eng translations makes it seem weaker than its actual function. It's the opposite problem with JP. This won't blow up as bad as JP since its not a nerf, still, they need to get their shit together with translations. Idc if theres a fucked up coding for a text in a main quest or side quest, or a misspelling for a word, they're just silly and can be fixed but they REALLY need to make sure that gacha items have 100% correct translations, since it requires real money to purchase. Out of every mistranslation this is one you cannot afford to fuck up
No the translation is correct... The buff give 12% more atk when off field, there is no error. It is not specified per stack because there is no need for that if you have more than 2 braincell.

Tbh it shouldn't be typical anymore, they are running a wide popular game. They need to expand the localization team and improve translation quality ASAP.
I personally prefer to simplify my rotations as much as possible so as to focus more on parrying and counterattacking. Above all else, I really don’t want combat to become more about skill spam than skilled play, yknow? I usually do Verina setup, into Yinlin setup, into Calcharo killing everything before I need to rotate again. I like to try and time my switches with parries. Quickswapping doesn’t work with my play style, but I do think it’s a cool play style and I hope future characters are more friendly to it. Ultimately, we don’t have a ton of characters yet and it’s a little difficult to cater to every potential players preferred play style, but six months down the line we’re gonna have some bonkers team comps and rotations.

Havoc rover, yinlin, encore quick swap team When yinlin has her punishment mark up and she’s off field getting the max atk bonus from weapon, you can still do you skill quick swapping between rover and encore for the 18 seconds and then bring yinlin in to repeat Also Since rovers liberation is one instance of dmg he can use yinlin outro to full effect while still quick swap oriented I think it’s great she can fit in both team archetypes
Seems like they should have actually hired people to do all the translating instead of using AI. The german translations and dialogue is also filled with errors that a person would never make.
soo i heard from somewhere(forgot) the way you play yinlin/calcharo now is you only do 2 charge atk in calcharo ult and then start quick swapping after. that way you get the outro and pasive while keeping the effeciency up with quick swapping.

0:55 It's still work, or it could be unintended bug ? idk. all you need to do is E N4 E (going through all "Electromagnetic Blast" and Sinner's Mark will be back to purple) this will trigger the bonus and ATK buff normally but somehow it doesn't work when you do E E (the RED Sinner's Mark)

Not sure if we can call it punishing the quickswap playstyle just yet. Remembering this is their first game in this style, it doesn't look like they would consider long animations beyond the visuals. I find way too many characters benefitting from quick swaps for them to want to punish in this way.
Her 2nd passive does work but its really annoying to activate. It might be a mistranslation or poorly worded or coded wrong. You have to mark a target first with basic/intro then skill once then basic 4 then skill again and once you see the lightning land you will see if activate. Basically its B E B B B B E, the way it currently works is terrible because you have to go through 2 extremely long animations just to get that bit of attack for 4s. In order for it to actually work you have to actually finish B4 if you recast skill anytime prior to finishing B4 you don't activate it. Its really stupid.
what i dont like about the quickswap meta is the fact that you will ignore a big mechanic of the game, which is reacting to enemies. I love the parry mechanic, but if the meta is to just treat every enemy the same and just focus on perfecting your quickswap combo, the game will become boring. Props to kuro for probably realising this

There a are absolutely things that you should cancel not necessarily swap but animation at least examples: second skill or Cypher - can be animation canceled into ULT I ussualy swap cancel second skill - its easy and you save so much time cos on intro you start from BA3
I don't see any issues here other than you and the people here having severe skill issues because they're not used to combat like that and prefer to spam basic attacks and skills, letting the enemy die on their own due to elemental reactions.

And you get twice as many rewards from chests alone. Genshin normal chests give you between 0 to 2 primo, better ones give you like 5 and best ones give you 10. Here you got from 10 to 40 depending on chests. From exploration and playing the game alone, you can get around 18k Astrit in WuWa in 1.0, where as in Genshin 1.0 you could only get around 13k and Genshin's world was bigger. Moreover, pity in WuWa is 80 and weapon banners guarantee limited weapons all the time. Wake up, please.

I got yinlin and her weapon but decide to put it on encore. Guess encore have to settle for the bp weapon now

Outro buffs used to persist as long as the unit they applied to didn't entirely leave the field. E.g Calcharos Death Messenger has a 2s animation time. You initiate the cast, swap, do a Skill on somebody else (just an example), swap back to Calcharo, and he's still just finishing his animation so you can pick up where you left off.
They changed Outro's to disappear upon SWAP, so the above no longer works. Yinlin's passive boosts Calcharos damage by more than 30%. That's all lost upon swap.
They need to fire their single EN translator and hire someone actually competent. It's embarrassing.

As a Genshin player the thing that really stood out to me about WuWa's combat was the quickswaps and animation canceling. The more laid back style of, execute perfect rotation, swap, execute perfect rotation, swap, ect works in Genshin because of the underlying reaction system and how characters kits play off and synergize with each other. Without the reaction system though executing perfect rotations would be robotic. WuWa on the other hand doesn't have a complicated underlying system to keep tight rotations interesting. It does have 3 different energy mechanics which gives it depth but currently other than outro buffs characters exist mostly individually with little synergy or reactivity to each other. But what WuWa does have is extremely responsive swapping, animation canceling, and attack parrying. WuWa leaning into rotations instead of the fluid quickswap playstyle feels like playing up their weaknesses instead of their strength. At least for me. Also properly animation canceling with quickswaps is skill expression and I don't see why Kuro is trying to limit that? Just an odd choice imo and I hope the game takes a different direction in the future.
Yes, this. Seeing all the characters on screen more often even while solo playing is great. Feels much more like console JRPGs that do that as their main deal. WuWa isn't gonna take a huge bite out of Genshin playerbase. Nobody ever will until Genshin does something miraculously stupid that they implode on themselves. Yes, it will take something even worse than 3rd anniversary debacle. I'm really sad WuWa devs seem to be steadily saying "No" to quickswap especially during cbt they said it was a bug and will get "fixed". At least make it into a sub-mechanic of intro/outro with its own pros and cons. With cool stuff like quickswap/swap cancels here, it actually looks like "Hey it's not just another mobile game.".
The question is whether performing a swap cancel on characters like Encore and Calcharo, where they don't lose their ult when we swap back to them, is considered as being off the field? It could be that it's still counted as being on the field, because they don't lose their ult, so technically they also don't lose that buff.
This one I agree with, and rotations with only 3 characters felt lackluster not to mention no reactions and whatnot, making "playing up their weaknesses" as u said is all I see here.
The mechanic is defo there. But i dont think Kuro want to create units designed to perfectly quickswap yet.
We are so early into the game after all and it's not like you cant do quickswap playstyle right now. YES you lose the buff but overall DPS is still very high if you like quickswapping even if you lose some buff. It's still really good right now. Especially if you play Sanhua where the buff are just extra thing that nobody cares about.
Quickswap is legit still really good especially for survivability. In fact if Kuro keeps all the buff, Quick Swaps become something broken af instead of sidegrade for some team.
Like for Sanhua Calcharo team you want to utilize quickswap. But in Yinlin team You dont want to quickswap but you still can and the damage is still good.
I dont see the problem in how Kuro does it. Not Limiting the buff would just make Quickswapping THE ONLY BEST PLAY. Quickswap already offers great survivability and now you want it to be even better ?
Nah man. Parrying and Dodging on field with one unit takes more skill imo. Especially with Calcharo who's hitboxes are quick. This takes more skill to do.

It was pretty mechanically difficult to know what animations could be canceled, canceling them into a character who can perform an action that allows you to swap back before the first characters animation ends, and repeat while advancing your forte bar and liberation energy, all while dodging and parrying enemies.

Yes, I agree that is concerning, Kuro is hiring more translators just now that they're quitting their debt. But they should have invested in it way before CBT2.

Their transparency is very helpful in regards to this and I don't think it will take a week even to see this description addressed.

I really like having the option of quickswap, because it gives flexibility to my gameplay. It’s a shame you get punished for doing it, and makes it feels to me like the smoother and more skillful way of playing her is « worse » than it should be. It’s a weird feeling and I can’t say I like being punished for learning a technical skill ingame…

I don't think CN's wording is perfect either, but at least they say "this EFFECT is increased by 12% when off-field", effect implying each "stack". but yes it should be worded better on both ends.
I agree with you. I don't play quick swap either because of skill issue. But it is very fun seeing hardcore players come up with broken strats that require very high mechanical skills.
I don't really think it's a skill issue. It's just when you read some of the outro skills, you do get some good ass buffs. Why play like a maniac and strain your fingers faster when you just can play normally and deal big pp damage in a single rotation.

There's a lot of characters where passives, outro passives and other buffs don't work at all and are missing in the stat page.

Outro buffs are supposed to not appear in the stat page.Anything that's a deepen buff will not show up because it's a separate multiplier but it works fine

I heard swap cancel works anyway as she counts as off field even though she is technically still on field similar to how you lose outro buff when you swap cancel because you are no longer counted as on field even though the character visually is
I dislike outro buffs disappearing when swapping off, but that's purely because I always forget what outros do what, so my swapping is always wrong, so me swapping again basically just wastes my outros.
I'm not a quick-swapper, but I just wish the outros weren't exclusively for the next character 90% of the time and were instead just a team thing like Verina's. It would make the game a lot more beginner/noob friendly while letting quick-swappers have their playstyle too.

Yeah I agree with you. The idea of having to swap cancel every animation sounds awful to me. I love being a sweaty gamer in the tower, but I’m fine if an animation takes a second to cast. As long as I can eventually full clear then I don’t care about shaving off every possible second.
I agree with you on quick swapping, but I don't really consider it a skill issue. I play my characters to, you know, "play" with them. If I'm quick swapping every second what an I even doing. Quick swapping echoes is fine, but like swapping back and in forth without building that Outro/intro, I don't like that. I always do all my bullshit on Yinlin and then finish with Churro.

Shes offield dps i don't see how can she benefit from swaps all that much, her e and normals are worthless so after you built her forte theres no point swapping back to her. Quick swap is more for characters that have long heavy attacks worth swapping in for like Changli E skill or forte heavy.
Played yin lin with aero marksman boy (aalto).
I am impressed by how aalto can literally distract enemies while yinlin punishes them by whipping them into shape. He also gets a free dash, though he's level 5 for me right now cuz i just use him for exploration. [Currently in early game.] XD
i think they should let the people who want to quick swap to do their quick swap. most people is not going to be taht sweaty anyway. but it creat a higer ceiling for people who want to. jsut dont balance the game around quick swap, but I think they should leave the option in there for people to play with

So this eng translations makes it seem weaker than its actual function. It's the opposite problem with JP. This won't blow up as bad as JP since its not a nerf, still, they need to get their shit together with translations. Idc if theres a fucked up coding for a text in a main quest or side quest, or a misspelling for a word, they're just silly and can be fixed but they REALLY need to make sure that gacha items have 100% correct translations, since it requires real money to purchase. Out of every mistranslation this is one you cannot afford to fuck up
No the translation is correct... The buff give 12% more atk when off field, there is no error. It is not specified per stack because there is no need for that if you have more than 2 braincell.

I personally prefer to simplify my rotations as much as possible so as to focus more on parrying and counterattacking. Above all else, I really don’t want combat to become more about skill spam than skilled play, yknow?
I usually do Verina setup, into Yinlin setup, into Calcharo killing everything before I need to rotate again. I like to try and time my switches with parries. Quickswapping doesn’t work with my play style, but I do think it’s a cool play style and I hope future characters are more friendly to it. Ultimately, we don’t have a ton of characters yet and it’s a little difficult to cater to every potential players preferred play style, but six months down the line we’re gonna have some bonkers team comps and rotations.
I'm kinda agreed with this one, people made the adjustment looks like it's the end for Cal, Yinlin teams.
How is quick swapping skill spam and not skilled play? You're literally adding another layer onto your gameplay, and it's not like you can spam more skills by quick swapping. This is a ridiculous take.

Technically yes, but I assume the ability snapshots and damage is calculated using the attack value you had when you were still on field and initiated the cast

Even if she's not his best "Quick swap" partner, Jianxin is still there and buffs his Liberation damage so she can do her thing and get out of dodge, and you can still quick swap. I don't see the problem with anything here, except for her outro buff disappearing, which sucks
Havoc rover, yinlin, encore quick swap team
When yinlin has her punishment mark up and she’s off field getting the max atk bonus from weapon, you can still do you skill quick swapping between rover and encore for the 18 seconds and then bring yinlin in to repeat
Also Since rovers liberation is one instance of dmg he can use yinlin outro to full effect while still quick swap oriented
I think it’s great she can fit in both team archetypes

soo i heard from somewhere(forgot) the way you play yinlin/calcharo now is you only do 2 charge atk in calcharo ult and then start quick swapping after. that way you get the outro and pasive while keeping the effeciency up with quick swapping.
Do you know if her crit passive can be refreshed as well or it only activates on the first cast of her skill ?

Not sure if we can call it punishing the quickswap playstyle just yet. Remembering this is their first game in this style, it doesn't look like they would consider long animations beyond the visuals. I find way too many characters benefitting from quick swaps for them to want to punish in this way.

Her 2nd passive does work but its really annoying to activate. It might be a mistranslation or poorly worded or coded wrong. You have to mark a target first with basic/intro then skill once then basic 4 then skill again and once you see the lightning land you will see if activate. Basically its B E B B B B E, the way it currently works is terrible because you have to go through 2 extremely long animations just to get that bit of attack for 4s. In order for it to actually work you have to actually finish B4 if you recast skill anytime prior to finishing B4 you don't activate it. Its really stupid.

what i dont like about the quickswap meta is the fact that you will ignore a big mechanic of the game, which is reacting to enemies. I love the parry mechanic, but if the meta is to just treat every enemy the same and just focus on perfecting your quickswap combo, the game will become boring. Props to kuro for probably realising this

There a are absolutely things that you should cancel not necessarily swap but animation at least

second skill or Cypher - can be animation canceled into ULT
I ussualy swap cancel second skill - its easy and you save so much time cos on intro you start from BA3

I don't see any issues here other than you and the people here having severe skill issues because they're not used to combat like that and prefer to spam basic attacks and skills, letting the enemy die on their own due to elemental reactions.

Pulls in genshin/HSR dont refresh monthly. They refresh every 6 weeks. I assume its the same here, but we will have to wait and see.
And you get twice as many rewards from chests alone. Genshin normal chests give you between 0 to 2 primo, better ones give you like 5 and best ones give you 10. Here you got from 10 to 40 depending on chests. From exploration and playing the game alone, you can get around 18k Astrit in WuWa in 1.0, where as in Genshin 1.0 you could only get around 13k and Genshin's world was bigger. Moreover, pity in WuWa is 80 and weapon banners guarantee limited weapons all the time. Wake up, please.
