What's your favourite Royal Air Force rank?

The Junior Technician rank (4 bladed propellor) should never have been changed

Agreed, good pay and not too many secondry duties. As a JT at Scampton in the early eighties, I only did "Duty Armourer" for a week, once every six or seven months and no Gate guards. Got a lot more duties when I got my second and third and the money wasn't that much better?

The lowest ranks seem changed from what I recall. I hope the AIs are getting it right.
'Aviator' for a start seems very USA.
The words used to be 'Airman, Airwoman' ( as in Soldier, Sailor, Airman ), with three-prop blades being Senior Aircraftsman / woman.
Junior and Senior Technicians were a parallel line, of more highly qualified techs.
Warrant Officer or Station Warrant Officer, never heard of the most senior Warrant in the RAF, perhaps it's new, someone taken to headquarters by an officer, to let him know what's really going on, perhaps? ;-)
Marshal of the Royal Air Force ( MRAF ) used to be paralleled by Director Women's Royal Air Force ( DWRAF ), too.

I think there is a Warrant Officer of the the RAF, they have army and navy equivalents too.
Similar to the US military who have Sergeant Major of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force.
Warrant Officers in the US military are entirely different.
