    Upon completion of this activity, participles will be able to:
    • Understand the criteria and timeframes associated with the most common psychiatric holds permitted by California law (i.e., 5150/5585, 5270, 5260)
    • Understand the criteria and procedures for the administration of psychiatric medication and medical care for patients with psychiatric conditions who are unable to consent/lack capacity
    • Identify three common errors in the commitment process when a patient is placed on 5250, 5270, or 5260 hold
