Aight so the thing he said about Diddy is because of back in the 90s at the end of the whole east coast vs west coast rapper "war". The big thing that ended that whole era of beef was the assassinations of Tupac and Biggie Smalls. The big rumor is that Diddy put out the hit on Tupac, and in retaliation Suge Knight put out the hit on Biggie

Also incase no one has already mentioned, a precursor to the Rap Devil video was Eminems song "Not Alike" where he also disses MGK
Ja Rule and Benzino tried to diss Eminem back in the day, they never recovered from Eminem’s response. Hailie’s response. Go to sleep. Nail in the coffin. Were some of goods responded to them.
The reason he dissed Diddy is because MGK is signed by diddy and Diddy allowed MGK to diss him so he got caught in the crossfire
There's so much background on this track that makes it EVEN better. For instance it was released on the day 2pac died. And just a few other fun things like that. Obviously this was the better diss track overall. Sound wise, maybe MGK wins as it sounds more commercial, but diss wise yeah Em wins.
-Oh Jadakiss was a member of the rap group the Locks. Jadakiss often spoke of political issues and inspired Eminem.
-Diddy of course is P. Diddy, rapper and entrepreneur,also MGK's producer.
-Ja Rule was one of Eminem's harshest rivals in the early 2000s that Em smoked.
-Joe Budden was a former member of Shady records who left. After leaving Joe started talking smack about Em and Shady record artists.

The "list" is referring to the top rappers like The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z and the fact that on the list he is next to Taylor Swift and Iggy Azalea which are different genres and would be considered not good by Eminem.

It pains me so when people listen to Em and don't understand 95% of what he's actually saying. It took me 10 times listening to this before understanding more than half of the double speak and double meanings. Em is hands down one of the most gifted lyrical artists in history. Also to be fair, she got a surprising amount on her first go. Definitely more than 90% of people.
Eminem came from rap battles, of course his diss tracks are better than others.

Em names all the people that tried dissing him but when he attacked back their careers ended cause of it, and theres a "theory" that diddy put a price on 2pac's head which hasn't been proven.

he DID use rap devil as publicity stunt- which is funny because he wasn't ready enough to drop a full alum and it sank so bad he ACTUALLY left the rap scene for a while, switching to rock and insulting old head there too... not a fan of mgk but outside of him being a dumbass he isn't t hat bad at rapping according to most... but this entire situation falls in the being a dumbass category.

This is perhaps bigest difference, I slam killshot all the time because it has insane lyrics when you understand them but also it has one of the nastiest bass lines I have ever heard, only other song that ever almost got me tmevicted is rebassed dark horse, goes to show that it has insane beat, also fuck me sideways if I was mgk at the time, sht he wrote didnt even sound like rap beat wise, meanwhile OG rap batler throws one of the meanest bass lines along mean while basic battle beat
