I've always felt that football embodies a militant structure and brotherhood more than any other sport. You can see how Parcell's and Belichick's military backgrounds have shaped their coaching and leadership styles. I'm very glad you made this video, Bill.
@@paulcrawford7594 yeah, JV and i'll admit that wrestling was tougher than football, but it still doesn't have the same team/structural element. it’s 1v1 when you're on the mat. In football, you rely on 10 other men to "do their jobs" well every time to overcome an obstacle.
@@fawnnahh7438 I feel wrestling practices are very rigid and structured much like football. The fundamentals of football are usually practiced in very similar ways of wrestling, usually one on one with a lot of repetition.
I have to respectfully disagree. In the military, you understand structure and your role and are willing to receive orders and show up prepared, not like Aaron Rodgers, etc; you would never, ever call out your "coach" aka ranking officer and undermine the entire platoon a la Micah Parsons no matter what your views; if you do not like an assignment you don't just refuse to go or fake an injury like Davante Adams, etc; or refuse to play/work where you were drafted like Eli and Elway; or put in effort based on "business" decisions as described by Antonio Pierce. I agree with the brotherhood in some cases but football is very much a game, the military is not. Just to add a counterpoint with my opinion.
Please don't thank me for anything. Just take an interest, ask me about where I served, what I did, and stand there for 60 seconds without looking at your phone or your watch while I answer. If you can take an interest for 60 second, not some bs contrived throwaway statement, then that would make my day as a veteran.
Bill bengals need ya it took a player fracturing his bone for them to sign a CB. Something is seriouly wrong man joe is gifted. Please dont let this franchise destroy another mans career

It is true - you are doing your job, executing a plan, and you are fighting for the guy next to you. So many parallels.
