    Today we’re taking a look at the Cooler Master V SFX Platinum rated 1100 watt psu. A mouthful but it's a pretty interesting product. The V1100 is an SFX PSU that supports loads of up to 1100w in SFX and not SFX-L size. That seems pretty significant to me, I'll have up on screen how big this PSU is in my hand, it's pretty amazing how small this PSU is and it’s capable of delivering more power than the PSUs in any gaming rig I have ever built actually. This tiny PSU is really geared for some crazy cool type of builds, SFX builds with I9’s or Ryzen 9’s and like a 4090. Thankfully this PSU is Titanium rated so its relatively efficient versus typical gold rated PSUs. The V1100 does have ATX 3.0 support and it includes a 90 degree 12vh power cable which is a nice touch in my opinion. The PSU is fully modular but interestingly the connectors on the PSU side seem to extend out from the PSU body. I think they did this to enhance overall compatibility by making the PSU’s housing just a tiny bit shorter. This Power Supply comes in at 100mil by 125mil by 63.5 mil at a net weight of 4.29lbs. Now in my build here, I don’t actually have an SFX setup to install this into but luckily the PSU comes with an ATX to SFX mounting bracket, I like that this is included and it seems to be a decent thickness and quality. The PSU housing seems solid, I think it looks good too. As this is an 1100w capable PSU, you’re definitely not going to want to reuse any older power cables you have laying around, notice how they include a huge beefy power cable? Well if you’re going to draw near the max, you're going to want to use that cable. Cooler master says that between the capacitor choices, the integrated transformer, rectifier, and full bridge llc design, that’s kind of the key for how they could produce an SFX PSU that can run up to 1100w without melting down inside of your case. They also site the difference in transformer and the flat wire design as helping to reduce airflow restriction and overall heat.

    Does it have a 220 switch on the back (should need a flathead screwdriver to change it)? And does it come with a 220 volt power cord? I did watch the video & didn't see a 220 power cord or a switch to change 110 to 220.

      Hey - sorry for the late response here! This PSU supports 240v but in the US at least, it's only coming with the common 110v type cable here. I believe this PSU is also auto switching so, no physical switch is present.

    And doesn't have a 10 Year Full Warranty?

      Hey, sorry for the late reply here - you are correct, this carries a 10 year warranty (just verify your region though).
      Did you end up going with this PSU?

      @@STS Yes I did, & I am in the middle of shortening all the cords for ITX build, I just cut cords it comes with & crimp on new gold pins makes it a lot faster swap over ...longest cord I am going to have is 4 inches when done. excluding fan cords.
      AliExpress has the decrimp tool set for 2 bucks & 100 gold crimps for about 10-15 bucks, both with free shipping. ...the shrinkwrap, I do add them & I leave them on, but I've seen a soft rubber shrink-wrap with heat activated glue within that shrinks 1/4 down instead of 1/3 that I want to try out.

    Does the 100mm x 125mm x 63.5mm INCLUDE the extended power connectors?
    When putting together a tight SFF build I need to know the entire dimensions of the PSU including the extended power connectors. Any help would be appreciated, I haven't been able to find this answer yet.

      Dan, I'm sorry I missed this one! I pulled the PSU out an measured, it looks like if I take the extended power connectors into considerations, we're looking at just about 108mm, not 100mm. I had not considered a build that tight so, thank you for pointing that out. Did you end up going with CM or did you choose something else for your build?

      how about when the ports have a cord plugged in? do you measure the cords' plug with the wires folded down or the full length of the cord as part of the power supply size? ..if the ladder it would measure 125mm x 63.5mm x 1,100mm

    • @112Famine
      @112Famine 7 месяцев назад

      I'm kidding with the cord to be included in the size ...I went a little crazy making a copy from scratch of this build ruclips.net/video/-8DsbL8aVu0/видео.html I had to cut my own motherboard tray out of a 1/8th inch panel of aluminum, & make replacement panels for half of the case & I wanted 12mm glass instead of plastic hard tubing, so I learned how to bend glass tubing, the trick is to have a rubber hose connected to one end of the glass tube & the other end closed off & blow the right amount of air in the tube when making bends to is doesn't fold in on itself, but to much air & you'll end up with a super thin glass bubble that will pop as easy as a soap bubble when touched. If I had left-over glass tubing I'd try & make my name for a neon sign.
      Then again, I'll be ordering more, I just bought this sfx for another build using the same case as in the video, but this time going to try & add a second pump/res for a dual loop.
      I think when I am done with this one I'll build one using either ammo containers or toolboxes... so I can keep all of the watercooling stuff in a second container & use quck-connect fittings between either two toolboxes or two ammo containers (50 cal)
