It is so interesting to see how caring and attentive farmers all over the world have come to the same conclusion that an organic and lower-intervention approach to tilling and fertilization nurtures healthy, nutrient-rich soil teeming with microorganisms which in turn results in the best possible final product. I've been heavily into wine for at least a decade and you see this time and time again, that the best wines come from vineyards where the farmers take the time to allow the vital relationships between plants, soil, and microorganisms to develop and this expresses itself in the fruit which enables a winemaker to make incredible wine. Mr. Sakamoto has clearly found that the same is true for his tea. Kudos to him for deciding to do things the "hard" way.
Yes I'm so glad to hear you think this way! I visit quite a few vineyards myself and you are right the parallels between tea and wine are numerous and at the end of the day the quality comes down to respecting the relationship between the plant and the broader ecosystem. If you want to really take a deep dive into the cultivation of tea, you can watch our latest documentary where we travel around Japan meeting with tea farmers and tea masters: ruclips.net/video/8U3tT7tW_BI/видео.html
Gyokuro is so good. It’s honestly one of the best loose leaf green tea out there. It gives me the calming feeling without getting too wired from the caffeine. I like it more than Ceremonial Matcha which can be overpowering.
Yo i felt the same! I still like Matcha in every way! But this tea really is 1 in a Billion! I felt and did my work in a calm and effiecint manner due to this tea! I have taken L-Theanine in free form pills to give me a boost but nothing will ever beat this tea in terms of Positive effects!
I just got a gift brought by my boyfriend which I selected and was also recommended by salesperson in Ippudo Kyoto. Its amazing! Love the taste and colour is healthy green just like a high quality green tea full of nutrient..
I'm so glad you like it! yes Ippodo also makes some good teas. I'd love to hear what you think of our Gyokuro from Mr. Sakamoto: nioteas.com/collections/gyokuro
Thank you for the high quality of the content and image of the video!! Gyokuro is one of the best, at the same level of top Chinese teas. If one would compare to alcoholic drinks, raughlly the Gyokuro would be a great Scotch and the Sencha a nice Beer..
yes! And if you are interested in learning more about organic Japanese tea cultivation, you can watch our documentary all about it: ruclips.net/video/8U3tT7tW_BI/видео.html
This is great! Ive filtered my water it makes a big diffrence in making any tea or beverage! I make sure i always use filtered water and it adds minerals as a bonus!
Hey thank you for watching the video! We've met with dozens of tea farmers in Japan and it is actually quite difficult to produce a flavorful gyokuro without chemicals. We finally found a farmer in Japan that produces delicious JAS organic gyokuro. The cost of transporting the tea back to the U.S and then delivering it to customers within 5-7 days of their order then leads to the difference in price, but our most expensive gyokuro is still being sold for $33 per bag

I bet you can get the same quality Gyokuro for pennies on the dollar in Japan. $30-$60 a bag is just ridiculous.
