    Have had several brands of airless professional sprayers since 1978 .
    I prefer the direct pick up instead of the hose pick up because they are pain to move around with the hose flopping around and the direct pick up uses less paint to prime the pump plus it’s easier to flush the pump out .

    I'm considering selling my business over at Aluisy and Co. In Maryland and moving to Idaho!! Really love it there. If you guys need or have been praying for an extra experienced foreman or painter that can help with the stress levels then please let me know. I'd be happy to humbly serve for whatever you can afford to pay. I was praying about sometime in the next year making the move. Just throwing it out there. Thanks for all your videos. I've learned so much from them.

    It was obvious there was a real effort made to make a truly useful and informative video. No matter how impressive someone's editing equipment and skills are = the forethought and intention brought to bear when shooting a video for teaching rather than entertaining can be more important and usually is. Thanks guys

    Oh goodness here I go! Painting my friends house tomorrow with my new titan 440, I’m terrified, but I’m going to do my best to follow your videos, I’m using the video from titan that says to run mineral spirits through the first time- prime line and hose line,then I’ll run water through prime line and hose line, then I’ll run the paint through the prime line and then the hose line.. then I’ll bring my psi to about 2200 with my 30 spray extension, then I’ll be doing hardy plank siding and the soffets and garage door all the same color… I’m going to tape and drape everything before hand….. then I’ll repeat the process of running mineral spirits, then water, then antifreeze and store. 👍 I’ll let you know how it goes!

    Very informative!! But question and excuse me if I missed the answer but if your already spraying and spits tend to come out, would you just switch it to prime and release all the air from the prime tube or would that mean that the hoses connected to gun is clogged? Excuse me if this doesn’t make sense lol

I noticed one guy was keeping the intake hose in a bucket of water with conditioner (lube) in the water.. after watching your last video I learned that you don’t run the conditioner through it while you are cleaning it but through the lube Orpheus on the front of the sprayer correct??

    Hello, I have been spraying as a hobby for a few years and followed you along the way. I have a couple questions. I have recently been repainting a house I painted 5 years ago and that had subsequently been brushed in places too in a different darker colour. I have experienced a couple of things that I would like to improve. I have seen, what I call spider webbing on the paint white middle spots with darker bits round it, sometimes these even crack, now I think its related to the material underneath, any recommendations? The second is full on cracking and the paint peeling away the day after spraying. The third is when you are covering the same surface with multiple colours (some very different) how do you prepare to prevent seeable bleeding? The surface is a plastered wall

    Great Video. I have 2 questions.
    1. Do you thin out your paint before spraying to chamge the viscosity? If so, how do you determine how much water to add?
    2. How do you determine the pressure setting on the machine? Do you have any tips on a standardized preasure setting that would limit runs or excessive over spray?

    • @Idahopainter
      @Idahopainter  6 лет назад +3

      We do not thin our paintWe must run our pumps at 1800 PSI

  • @danielgeng2306
    @danielgeng2306 6 лет назад

    Might just add if your line is charged when putting on the spray tip, make sure the trigger is locked, there is potential there to get paint injected into your skin, I think you covered that in a previous video Chris, just thought it was worth bringing up again... safety first as they say !!!

    Chris, question. I have a brand new Graco X17 Magnum Airless Sprayer (decent for a DIYer) and had problems using a fresh can of BEHR's interior all-in-one primer. After a few hours of use, mostly waiting for wall to dry, the pump would run continuously and I would lose all pressure to the gun. Raising the pressure would only help so long. I noticed the suction screen wasn't fully submerged in the paint anymore as the bucket got low. Is this common of thick primers, does it have to be thinned, or was I having a suction problem? Everything ran fine when I went through the cleaning process with water.

    • @Idahopainter
      @Idahopainter  5 лет назад

      Reprime it

    • @WillyDrucker
      @WillyDrucker 5 лет назад

      I did try to reprime it. After watching your videos, didn't think to let the gun run for 20 seconds or so, recirculating the paint. I'll try that next time.

  • @colorschemers2495
    @colorschemers2495 6 лет назад +1

    Constructive criticisms: It's not recommended to prime the pump at a high pressure setting. Its much safer and easier to prime both the intake tube and the spray hose at the lowest pressure setting. Only increase pressure when ready to spray. The proper "pressure relief procedure" per any sprayer manual does NOT mean flip the valve down to prime when you're done. This is why you get the blow-back with paint flying everywhere. The proper procedure is to turn the machine off, and trigger the gun into the paint supply. You release the pressure from the gun first, with the machine off. Then turn the valve down to prime. Little to nothing will come out, and there will be no blow-back. Also, as others mentioned - use the safety on the trigger at all times.
