$300.... why am I even surprised. Anything that's any good, bam, $300.
@@DoubleDragonHotel well, this is around the price I would expect for this type of mic. There are however cheaper options that do work, outside of the wireless space. Takstar, rode wireless go for budget shotgun mics. Or if you are looking for a usb Mike, I suggest the q2u!
Want!
It looks good. Am definitely planning to purchase.
I use one which has 1 mic and a and u cannot believe but i used with on my interview with a couple plus me the interviewer and the audio came out crystal clear.
I literally just bought the first Wireless Go. Wireless mics changed my workflow overnight and well worth the investment at around £150. The 2 is nearly twice as much.
I purchased this system 4 months ago and its great. Bought it to replace my previous mic that was not producing good audio. The Rode has met all my expectations and is a great portable mic. I shoot mostly outdoors and wind noise is often a problem. With the wind muff attached I am not having any problem with wind noise. I really like how portable it is and the audio quality. That's all the positives, but there are two issues I have. The wind muff has a very poor system of mounting to the mic, and comes off often. the other is my first system's battery died after only 60 days and would not charge. May have just been a bad battery. But the rode system is so good I bought another one, and expect to use it for a long time to come.
How do I record on my camera, then put the sound from the wireless microphone onto the Mac to be edited in Final Cut Pro??
I like that Omar is showing the mic in different scenarios . that really brings the value to the video. thanks Omar
This is a great mic for vlogs and interviews! Thank you for the clutch review! I've been waiting to buy it until you guys reviewed it!
Been watching your vids for quite a while now but this one, this one's a winner for me. The review was excellent but the way it was done was even more impressive. Subscribed.
We just upgraded our mics thanks to your tips and LOVED IT! Seriously, one of the best advices out there. Thank you guys for your hard work and for the great info.
I got this set for our church and livestreaming, it works amazingly well! Also like that it has built in storage for audio recording.
Seriously, I learn a lot from your videos and the results are fantastic thank you for everything
WAY TO GO!
I think this is one of the most personal videos I have seen about Omar. Wifey on deck, playing ball, driving around town - 💯 and man this is such a tempting device to have. Been wanting this mic for awhile now. I didn't know they had such great accessories for it.
Yeah it's cool how he put himself out there. 👌👍
This is on my wishlist/upgrade list. You added more pros for this future purchase. Thank you for the great video!
Thanks for this Omar. I was thinking about getting this, but most of my recent videos have been solely voice overs, so it didn't make sense. Thinking about doing more talking head segments and this is definitely at the top of my list
Yooo I passed the 1000 subscribers and I must say thank you, your videos helped me a lot ❤️🙏🏻
Awesome 👏🏻
LET'S GO!
I have the original wireless go system, but this wireless go 2 system has been on my “to buy” list for a while. Going to be using it for many things, including weddings. Being able to use as a recorder is a great feature.
Thanks dude, Straight to the point and easy to understand.
Strategic placement of the in video ad just when Omar goes for his lay up, now I’m committed to watching the full video to see if he makes it after the ad 😂 btw great review of the Rode Wireless Go 2.
I got mine over a year ago & truthfully haven’t used it to it’s potential so now relearning how powerful this audio device is
I bought 2 Rode Go's a year and a half ago... And they are amazing. The rode Go II is a great package that I wish was available when I originally bought my Go's.
How many of these Go's can you use simultaneously I wonder?
Edit: I only now caught the fact that you can record TO the device. What?? Wow! That's amazing.
I purchased these a few months ago and I absolutely love them for not just my production projects but also as you mentioned Zoom calls. Think Media has definitely been my go to channel to learn about audio, lighting and camera gear. Great video and thanks Think Media for all that you do for us!!
Just bought the Wireless GO II yesterday and am so excited to upgrade my audio quality! I got the Rode Videomic Pro+ last year which is great for most of my videos, but getting into interviews, documentaries, and wedding filmmaking will come in handy!
HUGE! You'll love them!
I have a shotgun Rode mic and this actually looks like a decent alternative. Personally, though, nothing really beats just plug and play. I don't like worrying about connection issues with wireless technology.
Great video! It helped me clear out so many questions I had. Thanks!
You’ve really inspired me to keep going with my gaming channel.,!
Awesome video for an amazing bit of gear. This is definitely on the shopping list.
Thanks, I'm getting this system. Your review was comprehensive, thanks!
Spent so much on other mics for my other channel. Just ordered a set. Hope and pray that this mic set will finally be The One.
Hey Omar! Need to step up on the lay up! Haha.
Appreciate you guys!
This would be a pretty cool solution for me, as sometimes I used to go live and for giveaways, had a game of darts... however, when I would go retrieve my thoughts, my voice as you could picture was terrible. Definitely wish I knew about this before I got my Shure microphone (as this one is so versatile I may not have even needed that). Appreciate the knowledge shared always and wishing you guys continued success.
This thing is dope
Not cool? Is it a drug? 😜
I'm about to start filming more interviews and filming exercise content and this honestly looks like my best wireless option. Thank you for a clear, detailed and thorough review! If I buy through Amazon, I'm using your affiliate link.
We bought this to do Mic’d up videos during gameplay for our hockey games come August. Looking forward to it!
Mr. Eltakori, I woke up this morning with one goal set in mind...finding the best microphone for my phone, tablet & desktop. After hours of research, I came across this video and you have helped me make my final decision. I will be driving to B&H video tomorrow morning and purchasing this product, thank you for your assistance. It's basically three mics in one with a ton of features. I think the magclip they sell can help hide the mic even further.
I have been looking for a wireless mic this is right on time
Just what i needed....Thanks
Great review. Thanks for your time
Just bought this. Have used the single one and just love it! Also have a boya wireless set but like the Røde ones better👊
Great vid!! Thanks!
Very informative brother. Will definitely be buying this for my short films.
Great Video, love your channel !!
It's a great product for multiple usage. great overview Omar.
Oh man! I’ve been wanting to upgrade my audio, this is the one! Thank you
Your wife is the cutest!! I'm a huge newbie with my first launch videos coming up soon. So I'm anxious to explore this audio option. Thx
Top video Omar, do you have to have a wifi connection/hotspot connect for these to work?… just with me seeing the Wifi icons on the receiver…. Really interested in purchasing these.
Sold it for me. Was on the fence, needed a mic so this will be my first. Hopelly last and useful for a very long time 👌🏾👌🏾
Hi all and thanks to the author for the best review of the mic. Just have one question! WHERE should the receiver be placed at the time of recording?
the transmitter is on you but should the receiver be placed on the top of the camera or it can be in my pocked?
I recently purchased these. It was well worth the investment! Great video!
I came here for mic review but at the same time I found your camera quality is good enough indoors, can you please help me telling me which camera do you use for shooting
This Rode setup is super awesome! I personally went with the Comica Boomx-u u2, since it also includes a lav-mic set for about 270$. It is not as good as this set, but pretty close to it.
You guys work so hard. It's crazy!
😭 thank you, we want to you all to win so bad!!!
Omar is a great guy. Our whole family actually enjoy his videos and look for his first before anyone elses.
Thank you so much Francis!!!
Thanks for the informative video. I currently use the Rode Wireless Go in my food review videos and was wondering if the GO 2 would allow me the level up my audio.
I would really liked to see a video comparing what the audio sounds like for mono (dual channels) vs. Stereo (both on single channel) when conducting an interview with someone. Or even how to properly sync the audio in editing on mono vs stereo.
Great system, can't go wrong with it. We personally use a set of Hollyland LARK 150s with a lav mic plug into the transmitter because they would be subject to the same "issue" as these mics. When you don't use a lav, we're just not a fan of the giant clip with a giant Rode logo staring at you haha it's actually quite distracting, so we prefer to tuck away the transmitter in our pocket and do a lav through the shirt. Much cleaner and subtle.
Which Lav mic do you currently use with your Rode Wireless Go system? Right now I use the Rode Magnet GO clip to more discretely hide the RODE Wireless Go under my shirt.
My trying to figure out if connecting a lav mic would be a better solution, but I don’t know which lav to buy (and I’m not sure if the lav would sound any better than the built in Wireless GO mic)
@@bestinkamloops so we don't actually have this Rode system. We use a Hollyland Lav Mic kit that comes with everything. You can't really go wrong with any lav mic.
@@VivaMediaInc thank you
That's next on my list. 🙏
Well, check out the Lotok MC02 mics... for me they compare really good to a way cheaper price. You can find them on eBay.. you could try them aswell and make a Review on them
I use these mics for 'planting'. Just plonk one down hidden in scene, and they work amazingly well.
Damn brother I didn't even think about that one
I sometimes even dangle them above. (As in ‘boomed’)
Sounds amazing!!
That portion of the video where you talk while playing basketball sold the wireless mics for me.
Same!
This video sold me ! Im going to buy this for my Real Estate Videos !!
I just bought some new mics about 2 weeks ago lol 😂 going to have to still look into these though for my next upgrade 😎
purchased couple of months ago and.....wow!
I’m watching this video a year after you posted but I am 100% invested in growing my Fitness Channel so I went ahead and purchased the Rode wireless go ll and got the handheld mic adapter all for $300 total with tax at B&H in NYC
Please can you make a video explaining the stereo and mono thing, and how to separate the two? That was really confusing
Looking for the dual for basketball content would this be good ?
Thanks for this... how would you connect this from sound system to video camera?
Awesome video, Omar. Were you able to test the setup in a room with strong WiFi? I have the VideoMic GO from Rode and it is unusable in a room with strong WiFi.
How do you listen to 2 people talk while recording at the same time? Can each of you plug in headphones in the MIC jack of the unit attached to you? Or is there some wireless function? Meaning is it possible to not only record your conversation...but can you communicated with each other when far apart? I want to use with my friend and I while riding bikes and using my phone to take video..so I assume it would record audio on both my phone AND units themselves?
hello and thank you very much for this very well done and super detailed video. a small question?? how can we export multiple tx files? I have the impression that they should be exported 1 by 1. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Omar looking fly!!!
Hi, can I charge and use the the mic in the same time? Thank you for the answer.
You are my Go To Pro Omar. I have a Rode shotgun on an overhead boom (9v bolt powered) and I am always amazed at the sound quality. But I have only Ok results with their shorty (cam powered on Canon M50) Plus I have a Go Pro that can use this. Done deal.
AWESOME RODE WIRELESS II MICROPHONE💜👍
The Blessing Channel 👌
The blessing subscriber!
Amazing.. I just need something for outdoors and windy conditions. I wonder how it would work next to river or ocean wave sounds.
the closer you can get it to your mouth the better it will eliminate excess noises - it was SUPER windy when i did that basketball clip!
Hi there, really great review! Just a question: when I run interviews, on my camera I have small shotgun plugged in, so the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver won't be connected to the camera.
How can I monitor the audio/level of the interviewee(s) coming from the two Wireless GO II Transmitters? If I plug my headphones into the Receiver I won't get any audio...
Many thanks
How would the sounds be like if you wanted to setup a four person system; meaning two receivers and four mics?
It’s great and the price is great for what I’m hearing.
Omar, isn't the Rode Lavalier Go more appropriate than the Rode SmartLav+ you are recommended in your description and Amazon link? Or if the SmartLav+ mic is better, how so? Thank you for the useful video.
I see at 8:00 there is a clamp mount to use this with a phone but it still looks extremely clunky for that use case, especially if you have your phone on a gimbal. I wish they would make a USB-C receiver unit that went directly into the phone without the need for a clamp and a cable.
Great video. Good to see a fresh face on this channel with your wife. I use this audio system and it's amazing
You sold me with the fact that it is adaptable for a smart phone, there are two mics included, and you can convert one into a handheld mic for interviews. I’m still gonna have to save up though…
Interesting, I had just googled microphones for RUclips and then this video showed on my home page.
I LOOOOOOVE WIRELESS GO 2s!!!!!!!!!! If for nothing else, it records independently so the days of my forgetting to plug in the transmitter to the camera and losing audio quality is LONG GONE!
Please do a review on the Godox MoveLink M2 or maybe a comparison video!
a great deal because my wife and both need to be setup for audio. I hated sync audio in post.
Can the clip be used on a belt if using a lav? Or is it too small?
This was lunch just few months after I had bought my Rhoda Witeless Go 1, which I love but would rather have this new one as I could use with two people. Thought about selling mine but don’t want lose the investments I made.:(
Literally just now bought these.
Why does the sound quality sound different in the outdoor scene? But sound is much better indoors & when clipped slightly further away from the mouth? I have it and get the same results? Like treble level is quite high
You got your wind muff to stay on?!? I had ti get a little aftermarket muff holder for mine.
1:01 can you please please tell me the light name and exact model number.... You used at 1:01
Have you experienced any drop outs with Gen 2? Gen 1 can be terrible in heavy metal/wifi environments. Would love to see a test on different environments.
Yes! lets see some tests!
I think the best solution is turn on the recording feature and leaving it on as a backup.
I have four sets and they are all notorious for dropouts when the the receivers and transmitters are not in line of sight. If you are a professional and use lav mics connected to your go transmitters, make sure your talent don't have the unit clipped to their back pocket or belt because you will get intermittent audio dropouts.
Man I really hate it when the audio cuts out when I am trying to make a youtube video at an Iron Maiden concert
How is the audio quality if it is used for video podcasting?
I have these - you can get interference and clicks when recording over the wireless systemdepending where you are but knowing that it's always recording onto the transmitters is a relief. Also plugging in the supplied red cable to a zoom recorder (into the 3.5mm inpuut) causes all sorts of noise - you need a good 3.5mm to xlrs. Also you can only export 1 x file at a time from the transmitters which is time-consuming. However, they're super-discreet and I've used them on a few jobs now with the rode lav mics (you have to get the GO compatible ones.)
I’ve also read that the Rode Lav GO is the mic to get to hook into the Rode Wireless GO.
I tried my Rode Smart Lav+ but I had to purchase an SC3 cable to make it compatible with the Rode Wireless GO (TTRS to TRS). I’m wondering if I should try the GO lav mic instead (not sure which lav mic sounds better though).
@@bestinkamloops yes, you have to use the wireless go lavs - they sound pretty go though - for some reason not all 3.5mm jacks fit in the sockets in the transmitters. I also have sennheiser g3 wireless which I’m using less less!
@@redfacilities sometimes I’ve found the 3.5mm to have a snug fit on the Wireless GO. Have you tried just pressing down a bit harder until it snaps in?
@@redfacilities I’ve filmed an entire video and wondered why there was no audio. Then I realized I hadn’t pressed the 3.5mm cord in form enough until it clicks in properly.
Thanks 👍 good video. I too want to purchase one, from where we can purchase it safely ?
Hey, can you guys help me out with an advise??
I have a CanonM50 and I'd like to know which lens is better for photo and video, Sigma 16 1.4 or the Kid lens, Canon 15-45mm?
Thank you
*RØDE* makes an amazing upgrade to their WIRELESS GO. I have both and I'm very happy with both. It could be amazing if the internal recording was *32bit float* , but even like this is amazing. 😉
If you dont have an existing mic, is it just better to get the Go 2 instead of the 1 just to avoid having to upgrade in the future?
@@DreamHomesWithAlex GO with the GO II it has firmware update (more often then previous version) and internal recording! Even audio it’s better and windscreen is more stable!
@@wars71 Great! I don't really need a lv mic with the 2 then?
@@DreamHomesWithAlex well a good lav mic is always a better choice in my opinion! But it works fine also the internal one! It depends on what kind of use you make of it! In some situation it could be enough the internal one!
The Lvv mic shone at the 4:34 mark has a TRRS connector. Is that the right connector for this new version 2 system?
Can you reliably use the transmitter if you are a boom operator and you want to be able to monitor while you record to the transmitter directly? If you can that would be awesome but I don't always trust that they are recording and i cant monitor? thoughts of how this how this could be set up?
Great video even though you missed the layup
It's so good for the price. I use it all the time. It's solid.
How is the sound quality if we compare to NTG mic, does wireless go sound as good or close to the NTG mics or it just cant catch up to that quality?
Damn. That AP goes hard.
