    One of my viewers just notified me that Sarah Harry (the yoga teacher) passed in March of this year. I could not find the cause of death but there was an article saying that she died "after a period of illness." That's not super specific but it does rule out physical trauma from things like a car accident as a cause of death. A period of illness can mean a lot of things like type 2 diabetes or heart disease but because the cause of death was never revealed, my wild guess is that she died of COVID or something related to her obesity that would ruin the message she spread for years. I also could not find out how old Sarah was but she looked like she was between 35-40 in this video. The video on her was done 7 years ago, which means that she died in her 40s. That is a very untimely death and it's unfortunate that happened. Obesity is a major cause of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and, I believe, certain types of cancer. But don't quote me on that last one. It's also a significant percentage of the COVID deaths involving people who are not seniors. It is dangerous to be obese.
    Technically we don't have a confirmation on the cause of death but, personally, I think it's highly likely that it was due to the very thing she said was perfectly healthy. If that is how she died, then I am not here to dunk on her for that. Laughing or making fun of someone dying because you have different political beliefs is classless. However, the thing I want to point out here is that if we didn't have all of these grifters like the ironically named Dr. Bacon telling people that being fat is perfectly health and no one dies of obesity or obesity related causes, then Sarah might still be alive today. Evil people like Dr. Bacon duel people like Sarah and her delusion that being morbidly obese is healthy, which prevents them from recovering form their addiction. Overeating is an addiction. Imagine if you had doctors go on news outlets saying, "There's nothing wrong with heroin. It's the safest drug on the planet and it has very few side effects. Go ahead and do as much as you want." Now, that statement does include things that are true. Opiates are very safe and hold very few short/long term side effects. Unless you overdose. Somehow promoting things like that are seen as a high crime but actually, vastly more people die of obesity or obesity related causes than people die of overdosing on opiates. Why is it so criminal to inform people on the dangers of what people are doing? Honestly these people are so worried about their feelings that they would rather have someone close to them in their life die than offend someone's delicate sensibilities. There is nothing respectable about that.

      Any and every addiction can kill you btw. Not just food. Drugs causes problems with the heart. You can be a normal weight and die from heart complications because of drugs.

(theres a proper name for it) pressing against their belly, making it hard to achieve a flat stomach. Obesity and being anorexic are to main issues in the body positivity movement that needs to be dealt with properly, ppl with a large body (but not obese) who are actually taking care of themselves still feel like they need to starve themselves to death (same thing for anorexic ppl). Its odd how women like Lizzo and Adele were attacked and called fatphobic because they wanted to take care of their health and take care of their mental health too

Last March my doctor and I decided that weight loss surgery was the best option, my biggest weight was 450 in 2018 and when I saw 450 I decided to go the other way and lost 80 lbs last spring I shot back up to 413. I have taken full responsibility for my weight, you know how I got to 450? I ate fast food almost every meal, and if it was not fast food it came out of a box and the only requirement was to set a temp and a timer...It is so much easier to take responsibility blaming other people is exhausting and cruel. Once you start to say hey this is my fault you can start to fix it. I am still in the process of coming up with my part of the hospital stay and co pay for my surgery but in the mean time I have lost 55 lbs and started eating better and I am way more confident than I was eating at mcd's everyday.

Out of the cases in which covid was the primary cause of death, and pre-existing and intrinsic factors played a direct role in who survived covid and who died from covid. Wanna guess what those factors were? Well it wasn't old people, it wasn't people with pre-existing disease or illness, it wasn't really young people...no they were all obese, whether they were 23, or 90, about 90% of covid deaths were people who were overweight or obese. An addiction is a mental heath and true addict have to deal with shitty withdrawal symptoms and in the case of alcohol, quitting without medication can legit make people die with Delirium Tremens.
      I myself have to take few months off work because I couldn't deal with the intense insomnia (basically, I just wasn't able to fall asleep without medication and even with it still took a few days). I understand some don't have this luxury of leaving work for a while which can make things even harder but yeah it's 100% your will/determination.
      Many people also transfer their addiction, eg going from cigarette to food, you're not better off. Dealing with what initially fall into the drug/food/alcohol addiction will help you stay clean and not just transfer your addiction to something else.

    As a 15year old African girl, I was overweight and my father and mother ridiculed me a lot saying I'm overweight and I need to stop eating plenty, my father started to take me jogging in the morning around 5.30am until 6.30am, before I go to school. I stopped for some time, I didn't listen and I still continued to eat. Then I started becoming jealous of my slim friends and it drove me to eat less, my mother continued to pester me to eat less, now from 75kg, I weigh 68kg and the effect is taking gradually. I taught my parents are annoying and don't appreciate who I'm, but I realised that what they saying the truth, especially my dad who is a medical doctor himself, and told me people who say that they are fat because of health problems or were born that way looking for an excuse not to be ridiculed and for people to sympathise with them, now I'm eating less and doing more chores which is helping me to lose some weight, this video has help me to learn a lot, and has taught me to be realistic in my life.

    I used to weight 400lbs back when I was 22 years old. I used to say the same things that was said in this video. I blamed genetics and compared what my siblings is eating. Yeah I didn't live a good life, I used to have sore back, joints after just walking to the kitchen and back and we don't really have a big house. After I realized that I wont have a future with 400lbs and I am just slowly killing myself. I started controlling my food intake and exercising again at the age of 23. Today, I weight 262lbs still working on losing weight for 8 months now, and I am planning to be at least 230ish lbs by the end August.
    *November Update* : I've been working harder since I set myself back a little bit I gained a few pounds lost some and basically I was holding my weight just enjoying a break from dieting but also experimenting to see if I can hold my weight if I reach my ideal weight in the long run in that aspect I was successful. Not successful however is well my goals to reach 230 by the end of Augest I am sitting since I was experiemtenting at 250lbs roughly 113kgs. new plan is to get out of the 10s by the end of this month which is doable. and get out of the 100s kgs by end of the year. Regarding exercise its winter here in the Middle east so its a perfect time to do a lot of activities, swimming, cycling, padel, jogging etc. I am excited to reach my goals and you guys were so supportive and I appreciate that a lot Thank you so much for taking any time of your day to comment your thoughts on my progress I will be updating this comment at new years.

    I find this societal shift into accepting every conceivable thing no matter how strange or damaging is being pushed for nefarious means, it’s seen as a positive but ultimately it’s breaking down social values and community. I’m not saying bully people who don’t fit, but help them, not blindly accept skewed values. Something is definitely going on and it’s by not means good. 1984 was a warning that we failed to heed.

      Because women fight by shaming. They are very social creatures. Being outed by the group is almost like a death sentence. They try to attack men by trying to hurt them emotionally and go for what they think is the most important source of confidence for them: sex. Tell a woman you're gay and watch her pull out all the childish insults. I find it funny because in making sex out to be the most important thing for men, it, on the backhand, makes it sound like sex is the most important thing a woman can give to a man.

    • @CyberLance26
      @CyberLance26 4 года назад +6

      @@alastor8091 Well thats because thats the way it is.
      Most people here in the west nowadays dont want to admit it but sex is extremely important to me and men need sex way more than women does and the women all know how important it is to them so they use sex to get what they want and to try to hurt men and make them feel bad all the time.
      This is all part of our biology and our instincts so many people dont seem to even realise this stuff and just do it unconsciously and automatically without thinking about it.
      Men have a way stronger sex drive and a way stronger need for sex than women does so its the greatest weapon the women have against them because the men can only get the sex they need so much if the women give them permission to do it.
      This is why things like prostitution and rape have always been a common thing because men just want to get to the sex right away and dont really want to work for a long time to get permission first.
      In the past that men and women are completely different when it comes to sexual stuff used to be something that everybody knew and accepted but these days here in the west people want to pretend that the genders are exactly the same with almost everything.
      Its still something everybody knows and accept in countries outside the west.

    honestly i agree with the term “body positivity”, but not with “fat acceptance” at all.
    body positivity, to me, is loving your body and feeling worth no matter what size. however, loving your body also means taking care of it- through regular exercise and a balanced diet. its “body positive” because the desire to be healthy is out of love instead of hate towards yourself :). but “fat acceptance” is just an excuse to be lazy....
    edit: some people have made comments about how body positivity relates to people who have disabilities such as a missing limb or a structural disability, as well as other uncontrollable things like cystic acne, stretched/loose skin, etc. I absolutely include these in body positivity! And altho being 500 pounds is never healthy some people do have different body types or are using their bodies for different things and being just a few pounds bigger and having a different build can be beneficial. We need to encourage fitness (in everyone not just fat ppl) and be open to accepting more different shapes of person. We need to chill on the ridicule because it just makes people feel bad and can backfire instead of motivating someone to change. It's easier to just make space for a fat person or ask them to join you on whatever your active activities are than to try and shove them into a corner using shame.

    As a past addict, the most dangerous thing for these people are those who do not hold them accountable. Special treatment is enabling, defending them is enabling them, the only way to help them is to hold them to what they say and what they do. If they are not going to try, hold them accountable for the lack of effort, yes, it hurts, it stings, no one responds to it well, but ignoring the issue and pushing off accountability is more dangerous for their health, mentally and physically. Sometimes you cannot help them and the best you can do is leave them to themselves, it sounds cold but its what is best, but the line as to when it is and when it isn't is hard to see on your own. Effort is openly discussing the issue, allowing to be discussed amongst others, and positively trying to build yourself up on a series of successes, they have often have short term targeted goals on specific tasks, a lack of effort may be seen as a large ambiguous goal that is either daunting or difficult to achieve, and is even worse when used as the primary excuse as to why they cannot improve if they do not receive unfathomable amounts of help. The ability to change is already in them, the ability to recover is inside them, teaching them how to use this ability, to have faith in themselves and who they can be is part of process of recovery. Step 1 is always honesty, with others, but most importantly with yourself. It sucks, it hurts, the amount of shame and guilt can be a mountain of pain, but it gets better because you do not create new shame and new guilt when you try and keep trying, to try is a success within itself proving your desire to change. Seek help, seek guidance, and do not rely too much on yourself, whether you are helping or need help, your knowledge is limited, acceptance of your own faults will help far more than you can imagine. Every experience is different, so make sure to develop your approach with that in mind.

  • @MR_THINQ
    @MR_THINQ 10 месяцев назад +5

    The best way to start losing weight is to be told by your doctor that unless you change your diet and lifestyle you will be dead in 5 years.
    That is what happened to me and it motivated me to change. I was 20 stone with a 49in waist. 6 years later I’m 11 stone, with a 34in waist and a six pack. I work out every day and only eat whole foods. I have a high protein, healthy fats and low carb diet. I’m 56yrs years old, have reversed my diabetes and am fitter now than when I was 20yrs old and was discharged from the doctors and have extended my life by 20yrs!
    It’s fucking hard getting and staying fit and healthy but if you want to live you will make the effort and do it.
    P.s - Diets don’t work, I achieved this by not going on any diet. I did it with a combination of regular exercise and eating the right food and monitoring what I’m eating and reducing the amount of calories I eat daily and to be successful you have to do both, just eating the right food will NOT get you fit or healthy.
    Nutrition and exercise is the key to success, get this right and everyone can lose fat, get fit and live longer.

      I also started with small goals for working out. Was unhealthily thin for a good portion of my early life, but because of quarantine I had to find ways to keep my mind occupied so I started doing weight training everyday. Started really small to the point you might think that stuff I was doing was child's play, but believe me that it stacks up as long as you commit yourself to a regiment. (for reference my first weights were around 10 pounds each, but now I'm using around 30 pounds but with more reps) Right now I'm not super muscular by weightlifting standards, but my friends all tell me that I look super healthy and much better compared to when they knew me from high-school and college.
      You might not see the effects immediately, but I promise you that when you stick to it and see the results later, not only will you see how much healthier you are, it will boost your confidence and your mental health as well.

    Great message. Remember everyone, if you want to do something with your lives, stop trying to do that thing you want to do. You can't succeed anyways so just roll over, become fat, and give up. You don't need to try. Leave being successful to the smart people.

    I'm a clinical dietitian specializing in weight loss and management for obesity, and nowadays it's hard to even get the conversation started that they need help, because it's being perceived as fat phobia. This idiology is literally helping these people kill themselves. Body positivity should be about accepting we don't have to look the same thru plastic surgeries or hate what we look like because we're not a Kardashian or a model. It's about accepting your stretch marks, your loose skin, your scars and the real texture of your hair. It's not about enforcing negative and dangerous behavior to people who already struggle with addiction.

      It is "fatphobia". Welcome to Intersectional Social Justice : the cancer than will collapse Western countries.
      The obligatory step to make to turn this around is admit that yes, being fat is bad, and being thin is more desirable. I don't think this step will be taken anytime soon. Too scared to hurt fee-feels of people who victimize themselves.

  • @Hemestal
    @Hemestal 4 года назад +217

    I've never understood why people get so supportive and concerned when a girl says she has anorexia and is dangerously thin but when someone is killing himself one twinky at a time, then it's a political thing, it's all about looks and it's not dangerous to your health? Are you kidding me? As someone that has worked for 9 years as a medical professional it triggers me that someone would even dare to say that nobody dies of obesity, yeah, you won't ever see "obesity" on a death certificate, because it's a comorbidity, not a disease, you die from the plethora of associated conditions that come hand in hand with being morbidly obese.
    This pandemic should've been a wake up call because you wont see this in the news, but more than being old, or having a compromised immune system, being FAT is what you should fear the most, even without a pandemic, fat people are more likely to get pneumonia just because they are fat, high blood sugar makes managing COVID a nightmare. A smoker of TEN YEARS has a much better chance of making it alive than a obese person if they get covid, that's how dangerous being obese really is, wake the fck up.

    • @dismantledbrain5910
      @dismantledbrain5910 4 года назад +21

      I'm guessing because men forced girls to stay thin, brainwashing them with magazines, TV shows, models, etc., so when they are anorexic they are giving men the power. However, when they go in the opposite direction and become disgustingly obese, that's seen as sticking it to the man.
      I'm just trying to think like a radical feminist.

    • @nikolayveselinov906
      @nikolayveselinov906 4 года назад +13

      Symptoms of Anorexia resemble those of a severe mental disorder/disability. That's why people are concerned when a girl is anorexic.
      Despite that, eating disorders haven't been recognized as severe mental disorder/disability.
      I can't really say for a fact why that is but in my humble opinion something is very wrong with a person (including myself here, I was 370 pounds) if their entire body screams at them, and they keep starving themselves/eating 10,000 calories a day.
