The track that just keeps on giving. I think the funniest part of this is that the crazy glider strats at the end of lap 1 and lap 2 don't even save .1. It saves a more significant amount at the end of lap 3, but because of having to land back on the wall, it's an absolutely ridiculous strategy that barely saves any time and I just love things like that. Also, 4 coin doublehop was something that I had almost just completely written off, it's by far the most difficult strategy I have ever pulled off.
This is also the first time that a no glitch category has reached a sub 1 minute time, which is a milestone that I don't think most of the people who have played this game could have ever imagined being possible.

Compared to MK8, you have so much freedom with gliders in MK7 which makes it all the more satisfying to pull off a super long glide
@@malignantpootis213 yeah, the gliding in Mario kart 7 feels like your are gliding, while Mario kart 8’s just feels like you are driving on an invisible road
@@coraffe I also got a hot take, most of the tracks specific to MK8 act way too similar to each-other compared to 7. Also, how do you mess up gliders and underwater racing?
The glider in shroom ridge (MK8DX) works exactly like the mk7 glider physics

just watched the documentary, this is a fking crazy TAS. After 10 years of MK7 while being inactive now people still manage to blow my mind even tho i used to be a WR-Holder and saw everything in this game

We got TAS code about 6 months ago which makes things way easier. The TAS still isn't perfect, a sub 59.5 is probably possible, but yeah it's way more optimized than what was done prior to TAS code

I think I remember a bug in this track where you could complete a lap backwards, idk if it saved time lol
Thank you :). Yeah, you can complete a lap by driving backwards and then back over the finish line on a couple of tracks. It's faster on DS DK Pass and Wii Koopa Cape, but sadly it's slower here
When I was a child, I used to imagine something like this impossible shortcuts in my head. But, THE FUTURE IS NOW!! lol
I think everyone imagines a track being broken like this, but for it to actually exist is insane

One of the many problems I have with 8dx is that they try as hard as they could to prevent crazy stuff like this happening, and thus, the respawning is garbage, the gliders were hard nerfed and aren't fun, but oh wow, an extra turbo thing! Also, great TAS. I have a hard time thinking of comments and I was gonna comment 2 days ago, but didn't think of ideas. It's so crazy how broken this track is without quite being a bug. This game had tracks the lasted longer for some reason so its impressive that there is 2 confirmed sub 1:00s.

It's using motion controls to hold left while still holding down (isntead of down left with the circle pad), It's a really cool technique to turn more while holding down that's been being used on more and more tracks recently

Yeah, lap 2 uses a slightly different strategy than lap 3 which I think is slightly slower. But other than that it would be a lot of effort to make improvements

@@terter006 I have notifications on lol, so sometimes I respond when I get the notification. There's runs that are semi done on a few other tracks, but I don't think anything has been done on this track since this was made
