TALKBOX CLIPS - FAVORITE OLD SCHOOL STYLE TALKBOX feat. Roger Troutman & Stevie Wonder

- Опубликовано: 1 май 2012
- Here's some of my favorite old school talkbox clips from Roger Troutman & Stevie Wonder. I love the sound of the old Moog Synth with the first original talkbox drivers! CLASSIC TALKBOX SOUND! : ) Enjoy!
THANKS FOR WATCHING....PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE..THANKS!🙂
This is a true skill and takes loooots of practice. Super talented producers like Teddy Riley come close but can’t touch Roger. You see how Stevie Wonder did it (mediocre respectively) and you know how insanely talented he is. Roger Troutman is on another Level. The timing of the synth and mouth consonants, volume, note accuracy, biting on the tube just right, not drowning in your own drool - Harder than it looks! LONG LIVE ROGER TROUTMAN!
great comment cheers
Roger troutman didn't get enough credit. Rest in peace brother. Let's give stevie wonder his flowers while he is still here.
True he was a musical genius
Roger troutman he was a musical genius better than Stevie Wonder so let’s don’t get that started
And Stevie Wonder is blind and Roger better he’s on a different level so don’t come for me you don’t get enough credit either talking about you like you like Stevie Wonder it Rogers better he may show to make $1 million he do
You change your mind about Roger troutman you bitch
Your literally dumb ash trying to compare a man that has nothing wrong with him to a man that’s blind I say the man that’s blind deserves more respect he’s fucking blind an can’t see I literally can’t stand dumb ass people like you kay
Stevie Wonder killed it.
I wish I had Roger's skills... and that gold vest!
The master of the Talkbox! R.i.p. Roger
Roger was the master of the talkbox ...hands down!!!
When I was a kid he blew my mind away with that talkbox. And to be fair he still does. I still haven't heard anybody so soulfull / adept with it. Sigh, that's just how it is with the greats...
Stevie invented it. Roger revolutionized it. Period!
actually stevie didnt
Franciscus Jackson You right. he's the first to do it on a live TV program. my bad. I was misinformed.
actually look up Pete Drake. He was the FIRST to do it on tv. Stevie was the first to do it with soul
Actually Peter frampton created talkbox
I gotta say Roger was sick with it he knew how to work that Talkbox man
Fashoo
the thing with roger being more recognized with the talkbox then stevie and peter was that roger had more succsessful hits with it....but he still gives steve and pete props for the influence all three was awesome..just roger was more well known for it..mainly in the funke era.
MAY ROGER R.I.P....THE WORLD MISSES HIM!!!
Roger the boss of talk box
Stevie set the blueprint.......... Roger built the establishment.
Pete Drake set the blueprint, Peter Frampton poured the foundation, Stevie wonder built up, Roger’s name is on the building😎
I LOVE ROGER.
For some reason he reminds me alot of prince so musically gifted
Are you kidding me???? This was way before Daft Punk came into the scene.
EPIC!!! KING OF THE TALKBOX...
I can never watch this enough times.
VIP854 same here! I often come back to this video when I wanna catch dem funky robotic vibes! lol
Both amazing artists! It's interesting to compare the sound of Roger's Minimoog to Stevie's ARP 2600. Roger used a really sweet sound..Stevie liked a rougher sound. FYI: He had his 2600's (I know he had at least two) marked out in Braille. The 2600 has 57 sliders and he plays them all as if they are an extension of his hands.
hands down roger troutman win dis why? because he made us bounce more he had love for computer he know its ruff and tuff out here and last and finaly roger was born in cincinnati butt when he grew up to be famous in 1996 he met pac and dre and they give him plenty of CALIFORNIA LOOOOVEEEEE rest in peace roger 1951-1999
Also, Roger influenced west coast hip hop with rappers sample his music he paved the way that's what made me the biggest fan of west coast music is because of him
Roger Troutman was famous WAY before '96! Zapp & Roger had some huge hits in the 80s.
GJD Hell yeah! Roger Troutman and George Clinton basically shaped the sound (and personally made me a fan) of West Coast hip-hop!
Props to Dr. Dre for sampling those great artists and giving their work new life in the 90s!
We started this and are the greatest at it! We are being copied all over the world!
Dope! Love me some Stevie and Roger
Love these clips! Especially the Stevie wonder one 🥰
Finally a way for me to have a voice lower than the lowest octave
I love it :-) More Bounce
excellent thanku shared
amazing!
Ladies and gentlemen you're watching video SOOOOOUL
I love this
LEGEND
Sick!!!
i grew up wit a damn funkbox today imma build it by myself and be da best funk master on da talkbox
AUTOTUNE CAN'T TOUCH THIS!!!!
GJD true
Autotune will *never* measure up to the talkbox, but that is *not* gonna stop me from using it. I love both
Such a stupid comparison
Talkbox is basically just a bad autotune.
@buttboi off reiko singing is not required on that thing and also autotune can be used like that you play the notes with keyboard.
GOAT 🐐
Roger troutman is my uncle NOT LYING
Are u serious you kin to the troutmans
Yes
Oh ok i didnt know that
Anyway sorry for your loss of your uncle back in 15 years ago mr troutman was my idol i love his music
word? he a legend man are you thinking about beginning the next king of talkbox just like your dear late uncle?
2人とも大好き
Rogers curl was moist like a Duncan Hines cake.....🤣🤣🤣
🤣
@@gabrielleelliott500 😂😂🤣🤣😅😅🥺🥺
What a shame 1999 that was right about the time Dayton Ohio was really going downhill around the turn of the century big time.
Now Springfield Ohio's taken the mantle
@William S this aint auto tune this actually takes skill and practice to use
They did this long before Daft Punk.

Mandam bem!
半端じゃねえ‼️
the first song
I may be wrong, but all the Daft Punk stuff is Vocoder anyways isn't it? Daft Punk doesn't use a talkbox
SFuNk24
Autotune?
2:53
Yo, whats the first song called that shits amazing
1:47
I don't understand how it works. So your sending your voice signal into the talkbox, it then needs to be routed to a synth so that you can press the key which you want to effect the incoming signal?
The regular sound from the synth comes out of the tube, and the player shapes the words with their mouth to make it act as if the synth is their voice. A lot more rudimentary than it seems
2:43 man
They may do it in their music but they wasn't the first ones to use the talkbox.
how does roger do it without a microphone to pick up the tube sound?
Eric Dez - the mic is on his suit
The keyboard sounds goes to his mouth and its loud
@1:49 it's orlando brown lol
how old do you think daft punk are
😂😂😂
Did Roger invent the instrument?
Roger must be spinning in his grave with all the autotuning crap going on these days. I know it's different from a talkbox, but the same with respect to replicating the robotic voice. A talkbox took talent to do and play; any moron can do autotune. Thank you Roger for all the wonderful memories to this day, I still play the music that was a part of my childhood.
What piano is he using for his talkbox?
Or anyone can tell me what type of piano is BEST for a talkbox?
I'm just a baby. ._.
Yamaha dx100
Piano??
Any synth (or VST with a sawtooth)
He started with a moog and then changed up to a dx100
what is the song?????
Song ? 2:43
there is a guy here on youtube with a band called "excellent gentlemen". type that in along with "moog" and watch him. I think he's.....um....up there with roger troutman. i know it sounds crazy, but check it out and see.
Was the first one a real song?
Yes, Temptations- Papa was a rolling stone.
who is that in the last clip?
Roger Troutman frontman of Zapp
thanks
No Prob Bro
Really??
CHECK OUT ELEMENTS OF SOUL'S CHANNEL FOR MORE TALBOX
Someone could of replaced the pipe with a garden hose.
To non-blacks, who always seem to try and create contests amongst black artists. It's not either or with us, it's and both. The rainbow manifestations of soulful genetics, arising from the ancient African tribes. Sheesh!
+Dee Wyte This makes barely any sense, but I understand the vibes of what you're saying, and I like it!
For real that started off a little crazy but I get what your trying to say haha.
I can't tell if ur being racist or saying something against racism…
early auto-tune
Just letting everyone know draft punk is a gay imitation of Roger
The original auto tune.
I hate the sound of the old Moog Synth with the first original talkbox drivers! I hate talkbox machine music that wipes away the real thing!
