That's the one to have. Small block allows it to handle better which challengers are not known for. A 440 challenger is a mighty handful with factory suspension. Cheers 🇨🇦
@My Pronoun is WTF your experience may be true. There is not much difference unless your racing it. Road course track day events. The 360 is about 550lbs dry and the 440 about 675lbs dry. A few lbs more for fluids, larger rad and there's a 130lbs off the front axle. In racing that's huge. I agree on the street not so much and the 440 bark is sweet. Cheers 🇨🇦
Steve your presentations are spot on brother, what you didn't mention was the compression ratio drop in 1973 on the 340 & 318 engines. You did a great job showing the modifications but didn't mention again the compression ratio drop. also, I might include for this perfect looking car the factory horsepower output. I bet it would be a wild ride. I had the 340 Duster from dodge so that's why I kept listening for that information and was disappointed when it was not given.
No bumperettes, so bumpers likely from a diff year Challenger (1970?). No shot of the fender tag, but it'd be interesting to see how that squares to what is on the car now. Pretty sure the air cleaner lid did not come body color nor with the obvious dent. No mention of the glaring issues with the steering wheel and the missing trunk floor cap, mat, and spare. No Challenger R/T in 73, but if this is a Rallye, must be a side-stripe delete car or they didn't put them back on after the obvious re-spray (color not avail in 73). If you're looking for a fun car, this just might be it, but if you're looking for originality the search continues.
Very nice car, looks great……….except for that goofy looking spoiler. Why do people persist on putting such gaudy looking spoilers on cars? I just don’t get it. I can go for a modest rear spoiler that is part of the body and the same color, but things like this…….no.
I always thought the '70 was a much better looking front end on the challenger. The gaudy fake vents they put in front of the rear wheels on the quarter panels was ugly to in my opinion.
*1973 was the first year for the Dodge Challenger Rallye, taking the place of the R/T as the performance model. The Challenger was the last Dodge to carry the R/T badging in 1972, the Dodge Charger having lost its R/T badging after the 1971 model year. The Challenger Rallye package would only continue for two years, the 1973 and 1974 models.*

"Day Two Fun Machine" - Absolutely!! Nice to see such a well presented Mopar small block car. A perfect 2022 cruise night car.

Very nice car! That color definitely will get attention
I had a 73' Challenger with the 340 in the late 80s mine was red with pistol grip 4 speed I miss it
That 340 engine I believe they only made for about 4 years they did great on the quarter mile.👍😎
The sad-mouth Challenger is growing on me but the 72-74 Barracuda was still a better styling job.

Bought a 73 recently for about $30,000 because I know I'm not spending 60+ k on a early challenger model or any cuda for that matter.
I wonder what the going rate is for a 73 challenger in this condition?
Yep Challenger's not so barracudas. I had a barracuda 1970. But barracudas are way more expensive than Challenger and harder to find
That Radiator seems wierd
Didnt they outsold Barracuda's!
Driving slippers? NICE

Radiator looks pretty small.
I have a 318 73 Challenger and it has the same size. It must the small block size. I'm going to take out the filler piece and install a larger one
I wish I even knew the stuff this guy forgot about cars.
Big block killer.
