Its kind of funny people say the HR makes less torque, this is a very misleading statement...the DE makes max torque of 274lb 4000rpm. The HR makes 6lb less torque at 4000rpm but the HR torque spread is flater so it makes more torque across the entire rev range than a DE because the DE makes all its torque at 4000 and after that its a downward graph, where as the HR graph is still constant, thus making more torque at 3000 rpm and 5000rpm than the DE. so the HR is the more torquey and more powerful engine which is why its much faster than the DE, the 0 to 100mph times show this difference, DE takes 14sec dead and the HR is 12.6sec, the in gear times also show the HR is the more torquey and more powerful engine....the DE and the Rev up are the inferior engines or nissan would of carried on using it and not bothered with the HR development. P.S....longer rods dont change the stroke, that's the crankshafts job.
You can run high compression and big boost if you have the appropriate octane level in your fuel, AND proper intercooling. There are articles about this topic. Many racing teams and Drag cars have wicked Hi CP and Big Boost Turbo and Supercharger setups. With tuning technology constantly improving and the right setup/fuel, there is no reason why High compression and big boost wont work.

So much wrong information..... The stroke in the HR vs DE is the same.... the angle is different, and hr has less cylinder friction. Also, the DE has slightly lower compression than the HR, they're not the same. The Revup is a DE motor, there is no Revup HR. The dots show the type of VVT the engine has. The DE has vvt on the intake only, the revup and the hr have vvt on both cams, thats why they use the same pistons. Only the 6mt anniversary and track edition 350z's after 2005 got the revup engine, thats why you dont see the hr pistons in every DE.

There's no G35 coupe in '08. Sedan only that year. We have one. '07 was the final year for the G35 coupe. '08 was the introductory year for the G37 coupe.

1:58 long stroke means more torque (and maybe) less horsepower, not the other way arohnd
The only thing that affects stroke is the crankshaft. Longer rods doesn’t change stroke.
