That’s my Chronomat in the thumbnail - it’s terrific! I’m not an investor, and will never sell it so I don’t care about resale. It was a birthday present from my wife and will one day go to my son…

I’ve owned several Breitlings over the years. The best thing about Breitling, is that a Breitling looks like a Breitling. They have their own design ascetic. There was a time when they made a bunch of ugly watches, but he quality, didn’t suffer. As I mentioned before, I’ve owned many over the years and never saw an issue with quality.

Under George's Kern Breitling have spent 5 years, reassessing everything. The model line up is now tremendous, the quality too. The Duograph is well, a masterstroke, as is the new Chronomat and Navitimer. I think they offer the best bang for buck in the market right now. Forget resale, buying watches is an emotional choice and you get lots from the B!

This is precisely why I bought a B09 Premier; the pistachio green dial with the needle hands coupled with the manual wind and 40mm case size is a classic throw back, truly exemplifying the heritage of the brand. Together with the excellent engineering behind the chronograph movement inside (column wheel, vertical clutch, 70hr power reserve), it’s a true modern classic. I think the new management behind Breitling is definitely en pointe with their new product lines, just have to get the marketing right behind it now, and all the best to their endeavours on that end. I hope they succeed and gain the attention they deserve amongst watch enthusiasts

Breitling is part of a small group of brands that are re-emerging in desirability and notoriety, and rightfully so, for a combination of better products and good marketing strategy, along with Zenith and Cartier. Maybe, just maybe they should release more models under 40mm....one day

I don’t think that more sizes is a good way to go if wanting to grow your customer base. Min is probably 36 and max should be up to 46/7 anything else causes these problems
      1. Dealers would require more stock and parts
      2. Service agents more training
      3. Sales problems could cause me returns to manufacturers
What perhaps they should do is more custom design work …. Especially dial backgrounds and or make special commemorative lines for watch collectors ( which have a higher price range. Surprisingly these often sell better at a price point than you might think) then they will have some breathing room.

if u like chronometer certification, Breitling will be a good watch to buy at 3000-4000usd. Even Omega and Rolex wont certify at 3000usd range.

Love Breitling. My wife and I each got a Superocean II, 4 years ago and love them. I wanted to get a watch from the Premier line, but wanted a screw down crown with the water resistance. I was looking for an Explorer type watch. Ended up getting an Aqua Terra (w/rubber strap), which has been great so far, but would have preferred a Breitling. Before Breitling, I had owned 3 Datejusts, but I definitely won’t buy a Rolex now.

Breitling might be next on my list. I probably won’t own a AP, Patek, and VC so to me if they are the holy trinity Rolex, Omega, and Breitling are the three horsemen. I already own an Omega and a Rolex.

Rolex submariner no date, omega speedmaster and breitling navitimer in my opinion make the perfect trio.

@@ninomartini8081 that’s a great line up. I have a Rolex OP 41 green, omega seamaster blue bezel grey dial, and I’d like to add maybe a breitling navitimer, premier, or aviator 8 chronograph. Something with a chrono

Breitling makes amazing watches, but you won’t see them hyped by the same people who hype a ROO.

I own a few breitlings , my last one is the 2022 navitimer and I love it . I never by a watch thinking on selling them. I buy watches because I like them. I own few Rolex and I can’t remember the last time I wear any of them .

Georges Kern has gone a great job with the brand. Keeping the aviation heritage is very important with the branding which I see coming back. I don't like the boxing at all that Breitling provides with a luxury watch. Omega has this mastered!

    • @perfectjohnboy
      @perfectjohnboy 2 года назад +1

@Chris22824, I wondered about the packaging when I got mine in store but it’s to do with recycling now and to be honest I was offered the older leather box but when I examined the new blue box I found it to be superior with the watch travel holder inside and so I didn’t want the leather one. But to be honest you don’t wear the packaging you wear the watch .

I have a Breitling Aerospace Avantage which I bought about 20 years ago. It is still the best watch I've owned. I set the watch using an atomic clock twice a year with changes to daylight savings time. Its never more than 4 seconds off. That is about 0.00002.54% off.

in last years they have made good watches for good prices , not over priced and their movements are more sofisticated then rolex i think ,but i think they can make better then this , and maybe ameliorate the pakaging

How many Breitlings do you own by curiosity ? I own 6 older Breitling Chronomats from years 2014-2019 , 3 with B01 and 3 with B04 from the Schneider era which bests out many creations made under Kern . The old chronomat B01from years 2009-2018 with the winged logo has screw down crown pushers and was 500m , now the water resistance on a chrononomat is just 200m , the transocean , the chronoliner and the navitimer rattrapante, navitimer GMT have been phased out, let's not forget the Breitling for Bentley models which were more impressive than what is produced nwoadays

I was bought a genuine Breitling for a significant birthday present. I sent it to a professional company to have the battery changed and the watch checked and re-sealed. Just over twelve months later the watch stops. I don't care how good the watch is supposed to be, it should not cost nearly £200 per year to keep the damned thing running. So it sits in a drawer, with certificate, in it's box.

Bought my first back 87 a Chronomat manual with a leather bracelet, was not those with gold or yellow on the three tome counting. I and everybody else loved the watch. Actually was not well known in America, first time I saw one was in ST Tropes when a friend bought one and showed me. Was the most beautiful watch I ever lay my eyes on, made some money in a job at N York and bought my own. Went back home to L A and felt like a king driving my convertible little bit up Alfa Spider. Came my birthday my girl present also a Breitling that few people know, an Erick Tabarly a French sailor . Bought my third a Colt for diving and wear , also nice watch. People say what they want, now all still running great and I love the brand. Will take one over an Omega anytime, Rolex go to hell
