Personally I’m not a huge fan of the super custom figures with new molds and printing in places lego wouldn’t do, but it’s still pretty neat. I just hope we actually get this figure some day
Yeah agree. Simple yet effective design is what makes Lego style so distinct. I really appreciate the customs that have a good balance of detail and restraint
Same, custom figures just don't look right imo. When I buy and display lego, I do so in part for that authentic classic lego look that custom figures do not capture at all.

They're cool, but it really annoys me when people compare them to official stuff. Like yeah, of course Lego wouldn't do that stuff and if you want them to then your lego set will be more expensive. I don't need a new, overly detailed mold for stormbreaker, doctor strange's magic, mysterio's helmet, or Captain America's helmet or every single little thing on a character

Custom minifigs are the BEST! They Give us what LEGO won’t but sometimes they can go too far
I'll always prefer purist minifigures. Not only is it more impressive to make a good looking and accurate minifigure with nothing but existing pieces, but it's also more fun and feels more like a true LEGO experience, and the scavenger hunt for certain pieces and colours will always be a memory from my childhood. That said I'll buy a custom if it's a character I really like that doesn't have a minifigure, and isn't expensive as hell.
My fav is firestar toys! I think there’s a point where you overdo a minifigure and it just becomes to much but firestar’s is great! I actually asked my mom for a bunch of their minifigures for x-mas!
You know how you did the An idea right there in the new year since we’ve got updated many figures for the original six van for everyone except from Hawkeye you could use them to do the circle scene or you could do like a full diary Stormbreaker me on that one so I think it’ll be really cool
That purist figure literally looks so much better than the other two. I don’t understand why anyone would buy those customs.
I think the 40 one looks the best maybe just a bit too detailed in the arms

I make my own custom minifigs out of real Lego pieces so I understand how hard it is to find the right pieces for a Minifigure!
I wish companies that make pad prints would restock their items, the products are so expensive some people may not have the money to buy it at that moment, but because the figures are limited, they sell out before a chance is gotten to get the money. Plus at the moment some pad print companies don't ship to the UK
I, also, am not a huge fan of custom figs. However, if a custom maker ever comes up with a decent minifig for all of the main Farscape characters, they could write their own check.
I got my custom goblin (it’s the version with the full suit) from Etsy. It’s not official pieces but it’s genuinely better that some custom figures out there
I think that FireStar's are the best on the market currently because their priority is making the print design actually look like lego. If they were pad printed they would be perfect and you wouldn't be able to tell they are custom at all.
I don't like the customs that print on places lego don't print and have all those extra bits, for me the goal is to look like real lego

$100 is a lot of money for one off brand Lego Minifigure!
I want my custom minifigures to be detailed but still fit in with the rest of the Lego system. That means no printing on the back or inside of the legs and no printing on the side of the torso or hands. I like custom pieces as long as they’re made in the classic cartoony Lego style with no tiny details. Recognizable but in a simplified style. I want the figure to look like something that Lego would have released in a cmf. If I want a 1:1 replica of a character and all their accessories I’ll just by one of those hyper detailed action figures.
Is this technically part of the liberty project?
I get custom minifgs between £20-£35, custom pieces that I hand paint between £5-£15 and also custom pieces that the seller painted between £30-£55. I also do my own custom minifigs which I will never sell. I get my custom parts and minifigs from either firestartoys or microme
With my goblin custom I used the face from the short bearded guy with the axe from lord of the rings (forgot his name) he was the one who said ‘Nobody tosses the dwarf because I think it looks great because willem dafoe has pretty large eyebrows

I honestly think your custom is the best
Love the purist version, and the Firestar Toys version I've already seen on their website and there it looked like it wasn't UV-printed, but with this one would instantly dump that hood and replace it with the purist one. The 100$ one looks cool too, but it's WAYYY to expensive, I can got more rare figures for lower price here in the Netherlands, like the TASM 2 Electro polybag and the Ravagar Outfit Rocket polybag, but it better blands in with the other LEGO figures...

I recommend getting an xinh green goblin with the glider mold. It’s a new piece, not brick built, and it’s sleek and good for whichever goblin you use
Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the overly detailed minifigures just because they stand out against official Lego minifigs. However, I would love to find a place that does custom pad printed Lego style detailed for Minifig parts that come in different flesh tones.
Orrrr you could buy the 90¢ figures. I have a lot of them and most of them are decent quality for 90¢. Not only that but I got 2 goblins, the one with the purple on it, and not. I got custom head mold for the helmet, and a custom molded glider for both of them.
Honestly, in the 100 dollars it doesn't seem like a layman anymore, those details make it lose that essence, sometimes less is more

I made a custom Norman Osborn using the orange Han Solo hair and the best scamanda head, it was Half based on the movie half based on the comics

I would get the green goblin but have no experience purchasing from Instagram sellers and find myself worrying mostly about scams and stuff like that, that figure would be about 90 where I am I'm pretty sure and yeah it is a really good figure and if money was saved I could get it but again then I circle back to what I said before, love the channel btw 😎👍🎄

honestly i got 3 custom minifigs of green goblin but i got it off of aliexpress for a 1$ each, have you thought of getting some aliexpress figs to give yourself a better money scheduling? i have alot of the customs you have shown but way cheaper. personally i wouldnt buy a minifig or anything more than 10-15$ any higher. its nice to see you review it though, the actual company who makes it and not a 3rd(3rd?) party website like aliexpress
I like custom figs I bought a predator fig from a guy called brick predator it has metal pieces and uv printing and I got a pack of cod Simon ghost Riley figs each different with custom plate carriers and weapons what I think is really cool just I don’t want to play a lot for just one fig so I pay that amount for multiple cuz I just ordered price and soap to go with ghost for my cod moc
I would get a custom then make a mix of actual LEGO pieces mixed with some of the custom stuff
I wish more custom companies used legos graphical style. While there are insanely detailed figures, they dont really fit in inside a display with official figs
Some of the characters for this series can be created purist. As the no way home liberty battle is getting an official set.
I actually really like custom minifigs especially the ones that are not yet made by Lego. I also really like the really detailed and heavily customed ones with new accessories and pieces. I just adore the talent and effort that they are putting on a tiny figure. As an artist, I just can't help but love the design of the custom figures.

As impressive as they are, Im not a big fan of (either of) the custom NWH Goblin designs. I do really like the custom hood, scarf and headpieces from the $100 one though. Maybe put those on the purist figure.
Although I do appriciate the $40 goes for the same kind of bright green as the 2002 figure.

Personally, I think they should try to replicate legos style as both of the expensive figures have wayyyyyyyy too much detail, where as the first one, while not as accurate, looked better because of it being made of official parts

Custom minifigs get to weird when they go with things like side torso printing and back leg printing, but when it’s official Lego pieces and detailed but normal prints, they can be cool sometimes
I can't be the only one who prefers the purist version over the 2 custom ones, even when I'm not thinking about money and purist stuff
Honestly, I thought the design on both customs is just too busy.
From a distance, all the detail just meshes together and indistinguishable.
Part of the lego style is the simplification and cartoony stylization that goes into adapting designs to Minifigures, as opposed to just recreating them as 100% accurately as possible.
That's just my opinion tho, obviously its a very skillful and detailed job that was done on both of them. I'm just personally not too much of a fan
The price point is the biggest barrier to entry. I can kinda justify $40 for a firestar when the UV printing looks good (the Moon Knight series looked much better than the Goblin run imo), but $100 with zero build and a couple accessories can’t be justified, no matter how perfect it is. It’s basically hitting “F*** You Money” status.
For me personally, i think the lesser detail of official Lego is part of the charm

I think custom parts are good in Mocs but I think you should organize them separately
The last mini figure looks really good, but I wouldn't pay $100 for any mini figure

They’re stupidly expensive, they take literal years to arrive to your home after you’ve already payed for it, and they’re simply not worth it with great cheaper alternatives.
