      @@klauswunderlich6169 but this one is already made significantly faster and cheaper than conventional tunnels, that's the big deal here. I believe that the boring company sees a path to at least 10 times faster and cheaper tunneling using electric boring machines, make smaller diameter tunnels, drill and apply reinforced walls at the same time, etc. If something becomes 10 times cheaper/quicker, then you can make a lot of it. A lot of tunnels can alleviate traffic problems above ground. Like Elon says you have to back to first printable and the cutter heads are one area that needs beefing up to last longer. Could’ve also add teeth to heads to help brake up rock etc. When I look at the cutter heads they look like they are just rounded without any teeth. Do the cutter spin in there housing or just rotate with the cutter face.???? Could the cutter face or cutter heads be redesigned into something like a milling drill bit.

Elon Musk (SpaceX, Tesla) wants to build tunnels like these under major cities, so instead of being stuck on a freeway at rush hour (think Los Angeles traffic!), you would just drive into an elevator for your car, go down to a tunnel and take a huge shortcut, popping up at your destination, which could be all the way on the other side of town. Good job elon, youve made a subway.
    Except, a bit smaller, for around the same price as similar tunnels, and actually still around the same speed as other tunnels this size, despite what the video says.
    It also has the added benefit of not being able to take nearly as many people as a subway!

  • @SilverfoxJB
    @SilverfoxJB 4 года назад

    Innovative? No, it's just a tunnel, a very small tunnel. Go visit SIngapore, their subway system moves millions of people a day, is clean, fast and each station is like a shopping destination. It's beyond amazing. All this pissy little tunnel is doing is moving the 'lucky few' a mile or so slightly quicker into Vegas's grid lock!

      @Howdy Justice although my question is kinda redundant cuz we won't need to go that far underground to solve current traffic. You basic understanding of how physics works is flawed. The lower you go the higher the pressure. It doesn't matter if the Earth is thick and hard.
