- Celebrities just might be some of the most miserable people on the planet. Why are they so miserable despite having everything they could ever want? Let's talk about.

No Joy without Jesus 🙏
Excellent video 🙌
Yes, it did speak to me. Thank you.
There one thing the video forgot to mention.
I believe them. Even if you are a Christian it's practically camel through the eye of a needle level hard to be yourself in the world they live in. I've worked jobs that were filled with atheist/agnostics but that pales in comparison to what celebrities have to deal with.
That C.S. Lewis quote is one of my favorites. Without Jesus your life is just an endless cycle of desires and disappointments.
So true, brother
Pretty sure most people who subscribe to other religions would disagree with you. Put down your Christian lens and observe the world.
@@weidchar1646 Well sir, are you willing to put down your atheist lens to observe the world as well?
@TheStarshipGarage I have, hence why I can tell you that your sentiment in your previous comment is literally echoed by followers of pretty much every other religion. And incorrect of you to assume that I am an atheist. I am not.
@@weidchar1646 I'd say it's certainly true for women & girls living under Shariah Law or in other polygamous religions.
Their lives are horrible.
In most religions, you don't know what will actually happen after you die.
Have you worked hard enough? Were you pious enough?
But Christians know that through faith - just faith!, we are promised eternal, peaceful life.
And unlike other religions & their dieties, Christians have ACTUAL HISTORICAL PROOF of our God.
I don't know about every other religion out there, but I know enough to choose Jesus.
lol my husband was talking about a guy he met through work and said “he doesn’t drink or smoke or swear he’s shop straight edge. He always has a lot of energy tho really happy go lucky guy” i was like “sounds like he knows Jesus” he was like “yeah actually pretty sure he’s Christian” it isn’t hard to spot!
Unfortunately, those types get tested and given a hard time at work
When you are rich and famous. People usually aren’t around you for you they are there for themselves. If you are ever in that situation keep your faith and pray for sight to see the evil that will come to you.
"Nothing created has ever been able to fill the heart of man. God alone can fill it infinitely."
- Thomas Aquinas
Reminds me of that Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman who said that the saddest time of his life was the night he went to sleep after winning the super bowl. He said that this was something he worked his entire life for and he had this image of what it would be like if he achieved it, then when he achieved it he realized that it was completely empty. I think that's why these celebrities are so depressed. They have everything the world has told them you need to be happy, money, fame, power, sex, drugs, etc and then they gain all of that and find that it does nothing for their soul. It's all empty. That would be an extremely depressing feeling
Hm very interesting... 🤔
And then taken advantage by the industry, manipulated to do things, say things, dress a certain way.. the cycle goes on and boom! dear departed at 27 yrs old
Ecclesiastes: Vanity of vanities: all is vanity!
This. Solomon had more fame and riches than all these people combined. Learn from other expereinces, expecially as wise as tgose in the Bible
Amen brother
My favorite book in the whole Bible
Every word of that book is true and powerful
Chasing of the wind
The only one who can satisfy the heart is the one who made it.
Amen🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well said
Life without Jesus Christ is empty!
Like a bottomless pit! ❤Peace
And Meaningless without Him
Amen All Glory to GOD
I was going to say. That’s the answer right there. Money doesn’t make you happy, knowing you have a purpose in Jesus Christ is what makes you happy
@@Dylan-1
So to want to be happy is NEVER a problem?
"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" -- Matthew 16:26 KJV
They try to fill the void with everything but Christ. I ran from him for 21 years.. but, when i finally submitted, it was like the missing puzzle piece that my soul was yearning for, yet, didn’t even know it…. HE was calling me. And all I did was say “Yes”…
P.s. I’m sure making a pact with Demons doesn’t help either. Which, let’s face it. Most do
I'm happy that you only ran from Him for 21 years! You're wiser than I was!
I ran for 53 - 54 years!
But I stopped running FROM... now I run TOWARDS Him & I'm finally satisfied.
Bad things still happen, but I finally know how to persevere & grow from them.
You forgot that when the money doesn’t make them happy, they find “other” things that “might”
And those other things give them a short moment of happiness and then it's back to disappointments and dissatisfaction.
Indeed, just chasing for another dopamine hits, seeking out novelties.
"Our hearts are restless until it rests in you" Wow that is a powerful line that I resonate so deeply with!
That is quoted from St. Augustine of Hippo tho. A Catholic Saint!
Money cannot buy happiness, but salvation is free.
If you are talented, than the salvation cost you everything. Only if you die concerning using your gifts to come high, you will live in eternity. Cause whoever makes himself high, will be down, and whoever humbles himself, will be in a high place with God.
@@netzexperte1488I think, we will good person, trust God's law, and do kindness
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 NLT
Amen. So nothing else in this life will give you rest except Jesus.
I found a lot of rest in his Kingdom ❤
Did Jesus actually say that? Hmm!
“Happy is that people, whose God is the Lord” Psalm 144:15.
@@danielobinna5025Yes, He did! Mathew 11:28-30! New King James Version (NKJV). You can look it up online or in a Bible. It's one of my favourite verses. I normally quote the full verses if people have problems in their lives!
The same thing happened to King Solomon... try reading Ecclesiastes!! He was like the world's first billionaire in Bible times and the guy was miserable.
Didn't he sleep with thousands of women too. But at the end of his life he felt miserable about it. When you are filled with lust and desire, no amount of women in the world will satiate it. Same thing with money too.
@@Crichjo32that’s a great point too. Some covet money, and for others it’s woman. Solomon is testament that neither make you happy, the fact that both distance you from God makes it infinitely worse
Ecclesiastes 12:13. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear the Most Mighty One, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
It's kind of irritating to hear wealthy, successful people complain about it. But true, without Salvation, there is nothing.
Goodness yes! Most irritating indeed, very mind-numbing!!!
They could share the wealth, it will bring them some peace.
Yeah I get you, but it is interesting to hear the celebs that have truly been poor before and then admit this.
It might be irritating to you, since you haven't really experienced it first hand. They thought it could bring them happiness, but when they achieved it, they found out it doesn't bring them joy. Listening to them made me realize, that the human race is not the center of everything. There must be someone far greater than us, which happens to be God, the life giving water.
Yeah money can bring youa certain amount of relief, but it isn't really the source of happiness.
I get what they’re saying, I was a lukewarm Christian and prayed for a good husband who is motivated, has a job, works, and will allow me to be a stay at home mom. I felt these things would be what make me happy. The Lord is so patient and kind, He gave me all these things and a house I never thought I’d have but I finally hit a bottom in all that realizing I was still miserable. Struggling with why I have everything I ever wanted but no happiness in it, I began to realize Jesus was my ultimate need. I was broken over my secret sins, depression, and anxiety, I cried out to the Lord and He is so good and faithful! He pulled me out of the pit that day and brought me from death to life. Now I don’t care if I lose literally everything, as long as I have Jesus I will have a peace and joy that surpasses understanding ❤
I think He gave me all the things I asked for so I could realize once and for all that getting everything you wanted doesn’t satisfy, only He can! Thank you Jesus for showing me the truth!
Eventually new cars will get boring,Eventually you've traveled everywhere you dreamed of and then what?
And then you experienced enough of your life, ready to retire and have a peaceful life.
This reminded me of a Filipino fictional story where an aristocrat tells about it on his doctor and the doctor told him the truth that he is depressed because he didn't exercise himself to work and have his goals, instead of just giving him medicine and when he met a commoner girl daughter of fisherman, when they worked together,he realizes a sense of happiness and they married at the end
I think of Alexander the great who after he defeated all his enemies despaired because there were no more worlds to conquer.
This reminds me of Taylor Swift. She’s extremely successful but yet despite it all, she seems eager to still fight and compete with everyone. Her last album shows it’s clear that despite being a billionaire, she seems miserable
Being broke is more depressing..
Debatable actually...
@@edisonchin2463 Ok, let's debate then!
Its depressing to not have any resources. You can't do anything. You're stuck.
It feels like life is out of reach. Not to mention all the problems you have to live with.
Don't got clothes, this iphone 6 of mine is on its last lap, can't get my teeth fixed etc etc.
Theres no way you're in my situation when you take the position you do.
Money is the missing ingredient for me. If I had it I could improve my life and serve God in different ways. But I don't, and its depressing.
Lets hear why its actually more depressing to have money than to not have it.
@@jixxytrix1705 why would you need money in order to serve God? That's another topic thou. I don't mean having money is more depressing compared to not having it, I'm saying there are situations which are far more depressing than being broke. Should get the premise right before starting a debate.
Esp once the starvation sets in
@@edisonchin2463becauxse someome with NO resources has nothing to give.
Once they lost "the pursuit" or that "turn the corner" mentality; once they actually achieved, they realized they had nothing left - and that their dreams were quite short sighted after all.
Contentment is the key of true happiness...
JESUS is the real source of happiness ❤
I think Ecclesiastes is a good book which deals with this issue. Everything under the sun is vanity and chasing after wind, expect for fearing God (Ecclesiastes 12).
Ecclesiastes says "MONEY is a defence"
YEP!
Amen & also remembering to spend time with family and loved ones.
It reminds me of the folks of Babel, believing they would be happy if they made a „name for themselves.“
It's no different then you . Jesus follower.. because of Jesus heaven knows our name.. stop judging.. look at yourselves.
@@serahkonner sorry, not following. Please explain.
You've heard that the worst type of loneliness is being surrounded by everyone but being alone. Same way, being depressed when you have everything is way worst than being depressed and having nothing. Because when you have nothing, at least you have an idea of something better. But neing depressed while having everything is the most miserable you van ever be, because you literally have everything you've ever hoped, but nothing can fill you. Is like being thirsty and drinking water that doesn't hydrate you.
Feelings don't last forever, good or bad. Sometimes you'll feel good and sometimes you won't.
And you don't need to force yourself to be happy all the time to not be depressed
Fame makes one more insular and self absorbed, we all have this feature in our personalities but fame makes it worse. it's not really there fault as they don't really no what they are getting into when they become famous it's a double edge sword. But fame is also very hard to give up, once you have it.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Legitimately, the people I've met that are living paycheck to paycheck or are homeless have been much more joyful and I can't imagine living a life surrounded by people trying to pick apart my every word and action until I'm no longer a part of the zeitgeist and having friends and family that surround me that I'm not sure if I can trust. I honestly feel for people who are famous and rich. Your hope is focused on what you're doing next and staying in the public's eye when that's what's slowly killing you and you know it.
Excellent analysis. As Isaiah 23:6 says God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is kept on Him, because he trusts in Him.
You can have all the riches in the world and still be unhappy….without Jesus you will never truly Live or have true Joy
You don’t need Jesus to feel joy or happiness it comes from within
Bs
@@JusNBL2000 it’s obvious you haven’t experienced the Joy that Jesus gives. And living is to live in Christ not the world. That’s true living. Once you experience it you will know what I’m talking about.
@@Daneiladams555 do you have a relationship with Jesus?

If all those stuff makes them miserable why won’t they just give it away
I agree. I'm sure Wendy's is hiring.
Because it's all they have
Your misinterpreting, it’s not the stuff that made them miserable it’s after getting the stuff realizing that the stuff isn’t that important at all. It’s fickle and can be taken away at any moment.
It's not the stuff that makes them miserable, but the realization that the stuff is ultimately hollow. Once that road of material pursuit delivers you to nihilism's hands, it's too late. At that point whether you throw it all away and live naked and homeless or whether you don't, it no longer matters. The veil has been lifted, you now see the truth of life, and have only a couple of options. See nihilism to its logical conclusion, explore various religions or occult ideas, or ask Jesus to help you. By the way, the Bible advises the very thing you do. The rich who have faith are advised to gift away their possessions because the sooner will a camel pass through a needle's eye than will a rich person enter God's kingdom. Not simply because they have wealth, but because their wealth and the endless comforts it provides (which are a form of temptation) will prevent them from deliberately picking up and carrying their cross. It's notable that satan tried to tempt Jesus in that same way. He offered Him comforts, wealth, status, power and through all of that freedom from worldly suffering. In exchange he asked from Jesus to abandon the Father. If he could do it to Him he can do it to us. And since we're not perfect it is practically guaranteed that where Jesus succeeded we will fail, unless we ask Him to aid us.
Because they are false. They crave attention.
Always appreciate your godly perspective. I also appreciate your sagging bookshelves. I thought I was the only one with that problem. I hope you've read all those books.
The celebrities that are happy with their lives mostly are the Christian celebrities who are in Christian movies and TV shows and music.
Because they don't have JESUS. JESUS IS GOD. You need God
Jesus said.. why do you call me good only God is good!!!
Is Jesus good?@@serahkonner
@serahkonner You're silly.. Jesus said that because the guy only acknowledged him as a teacher but not as the son of God. If you deny that Jesús is the son of God and God himself, you cannot be saved. The only reason why Jesus was able to pay for your sins on the cross was because he's God. Anyone who denies that Jesús is God, It's already perishing. I keep forgetting that the wheats grow together with the tares, but at the end, the tares will be thrown into the fire.
Atheism is the wave of the future
@@bertog1217No.
They all need 2 learn that sharing is greater then wealth, fame and anything 'good'
He gives the living water and with him we'll never thirst again! ❤
If these celebrities say, that money does not make them "happy", then they should give away what takes away their happiness. Or are they just gas-lighting us when they say these things?
Maybe it is not the money but it's how they made it and spend it, when they become rich or wealthy - which destroys their happiness.
But then again, it was said, who ever becomes rich, should fast from their wealth.
They can't give it away because they have grown to hate people, for the bad things people have done to them. They haven't healed from their trauma and haven't found out that this life isn't everything. They haven't found God.
@@celestial_s that's an interesting assessment.
A time is coming when those who kill you will think they are serving God.
But none of them just give their money away do they so this is BS
Celebrities also lie and want attention. It might not be so bad. It might not be so great. Idk. I've been poor and it wasn't a good time. A certain level of money does bring... contentment? Happiness is a weird word.
There is always the next thing. There is always stuff happening. Anyone can have these problems. Whether you have money and fame or you don't.
Louis C.K. told about having to pull his car over and weep from overwhelming feelings of emptiness and existential despair (and this was *before* the accusations against him). It's truly a dying world out there in need of Christ.
You came into this world with nothing and that’s how it is when you pass. Only difference…. It’s either with God or not when you pass.
Creating is my joy, whether I have money or not only dictates WHAT I can create, not IF I can.
The only way to make a celebrity happy -
Beef with them, give them a chance to show off how much more they have than you
(I know, my gf essentially a celeb because she is a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, and when I piss her off that’s what she does).
At least they are honest
Thank you so much for posting this video. I just realized that I am happy most of the time even though I don't have what these people have. In that I consider myself blessed.
Bonus points for using Three Amigos clips.
Alot of wisdom in this video. Thanks for making it.
Great post as always. God bless your ministry.
Poor people have anxieties too but just dont have television to say their mind
Solomon had all the riches and women and came to the conclusion that ALL is vanity
Wow this was more philosophical and thought-provoking than i anticipated. Great insights bro!
Their personal relationships are shite... (Most of them). Though a lot of them eventually found happiness and fulfilment in becoming parents to children.
Some people find there value from stuff,s and stuff never last not having everything makes you sad but it's not about having everything or being Rich nothing last in this world that why i say don't get addicted to a tv show
My dad had a lot of luck in business over the past few years and gave me a trust fund. As cliche as it may sound but that shit made me depressed as hell. Took away all my motivation and goals for a while. However, it also gave me the valuable lesson that money is not a thing worth chasing and that it won't give you any long term fulfilment.
my mom always says the poor always have that hope that I’ll be happy when I get there and so you’re always striving and have something to work for. The rich are their and realize it was pointless and now they have nothing left to aim for
My true happiness: I talk to God about my struggles and then I notice His answers. My o my... it lights up my soul !!! The source of true happiness!! I am heard, He cares... with so much gentleness. Peace for my troubled mind, rest for my wrestling soul. Hope for the future...
Money does bring SOME happiness up to about $20 million based on annual salary studies, but it's what you do with it that matters. Use it for your health, spend time with people, and contribute to your community.
More than that seems to not add any happiness.
Oh please I'd still prefer to be unhappy with millions of dollars 🙄
To quote Mr. Spock “Sometimes haveing is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. It is not logical but it is often true.”
Or as St Augustine says “Our hearts are made for you oh God and will not rest until they rest in you!”
Our whole being is found in Him alone our God !
I'm glad that I don't know who a lot of these people even are!!
As the old wise folks used to say.......
"EVERYTHING SHINING AIN'T SILVER,
EVERYTHING THAT GLITTERS AIN'T GOLD!"
This comes with the top of every hill; this means there are valleys all around.
You need Jesus in the valley and on the mountain.
I think you are right, but I also think a lot of celebrities (in hollywood in particular) do things they are ashamed of to get fame and money only to realize the fame and money isn't worth what they did to get there. So they are left wanting something more, but also ashamed of what they have done.
I think theres a balance. If you're piss poor and miserable, its worse than having your needs met and being unfulfilled.
Not really, depressed & miserable are depressed & miserable
Truth is they’re unhappy with themselves. Money won’t change that. Self loathing.
Also, please let's not forget that many celebrities like to speak out about mental illness (depression, anxiety etc) to catch attention. Nothing else.
I never want to minimise mental illness and never want to be harsh but I think alot of them mention it too often.
I love ur take, ive been saying this for year. Now i have docs to show instead of proving
We needed this video many years ago! Thank you
Sounds like a case of Nimrod syndrome: „wanting to make a name for oneself“ and finding that does nothing to solve the problem. It’s due to identifying the problem incorrectly.
This video popped up nicely paired with Nate from Wise Disciple‘s video on a guy telling Tucker Carlson how he‘s going about conquering death.
Profound message brother!!!!
U missed jim carrey interview and his famous quote 'i wish all became rich.. ..' and also the actor in 'friends' who said how he was addicted n depressed at the peak of his career.
Wow, what a great way to tie into the living water analogy/metaphor that Jesus gave. The highest level of success(relative and subjective to the individual) is the last drop of water in this world. Therefore, they can’t have anymore. Hence, the only thing that can keep flowing, comes from another world, like CS Lewis said. It’s that living water.💧
And the same can happen with an office job. Does not matter how simple or how professional you are .
Hey, have you ever thought about creating a series for youth groups on this kind of thing? Was just thinking about how I'm going to show this to my youth group because I think it will really have an impact on them.
Have always felt highly disturbed by seeing people idolize celebrities, gang members, lottery winners and career goals. Shallow.
With people constantly in your business how could you be happy
People could save themselves from a lot of disappointment and pain if they would just read Ecclesiasties
Until heaven I am glad Christ lives in me and I live in Him on earth. Knowing God loves me and He uses me gives me joy. I don’t have to have a golden career, have perfect loyalty from friends or family. Be simple and uncomplicated like Jesus was. Like Paul said, a roof over my head, raiment and good food to eat and work to supply me and others and let my mind be transformed by His values and His Work.
Thanks. Well done. Well said
Working for the devil is not all its cracked up to be.
They probably thought, "I sold my soul for THIS??" 😭
One thing I learned about success is it reveals very dark secrets. Failure doesn’t have that problem and it’s a wonderful teacher. Success should never be defined for you, you should define it. Salvation is a pipe dream; I don’t waste time worrying about something that really only means anything once you’re dead. While I’m still alive success is still being able to play the game. That’s it, in other words the pain of failure is the joy of success. The joy of success is the failure to see the reality around you.
Amen brother ❤️ Be blessed
The more anything you have, you stress over an abundance. When you have nothing you have nothing to lose or worry about losing
If having fake and money don’t make you happy, imagine not having it with the same issues.
Very good video. They all look very miserable ✝️
hundreds of millions of dollars ?that is unbelievable!I've been on three and a half thousand pounds per annum for more or less forty years!why is the whole world broken?there is so much to discover, there is so much out there!there is so much joy that you could spread with wealth, there are so many poor, miserable struggling lives which you could transform beyond all recognition!
This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. I think we all have things we yearn for and we think if we cld just get it life would be better but it keeps us from enjoying the moment and appreciating where God has us right now.
The one thing you don't hear many extremely rich and famous people say is, I spend a lot of my effort, time and money trying to help others who might need a little help. Giving is the most satisfying and happiness educing thing you will ever do in your life, and you do not have to be rich to do it. Giving does not mean donating to a charity, giving can be you being a person someone can talk to when they feel overwhelmed, help a friend or neighbor who may be sick or injured and can't physically do everyday things like mowing yard, grocery shopping and on and on, the opportunities are endless.
I can kind of imagine it, I mean, I've achieved some goals that used to mean a lot for me, now that I've achieved them, I can say with 100% certainty, that I feel the most miserable I've felt in my life... And I kind of think the reason is the relationships I lost, over time everyone grew up, no one speaks to nobody, and life feels so damn lonely...
Celebrities aren't happy because they put trust in material things , they want to find happiness but happiness is made
And even with all this evidence celebrities or just rich or well off, People still don't understand where true joy is found..
Look at what happened to Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson etc...
This was a great message!
Thanks for this video, lots of things to think about!
