It was special that anyone with a Streetfighter had a 208hp top of the line engine. If someone wanted a less expensive, less powerful naked Ducati, they had to buy a Monster. Now they are watering down what a Streetfighter is.

J'attendais avec impatience cette date pour la présentation de la Streetfighter V2 qui m'intéressait fortement, sauf qu'à 17000€, c'est vraiment trop chère pour ce qu'elle propose face à la concurrence (Speed triple; 1290 SDR) qui sont toutes 2 bien plus performante pour 1000€ de plus. Par contre, la Streetfighter SP est vraiment magnifique pour celui qui veut le roadster ultime, MV Agusta n'a plus qu'à aller se rhabiller avec leur Brutale RR dans cette gamme de prix.
Nice bike, I assume the asking price will be around $15,000. I’d get the Tuono V4 for the same money, instead the V2. Update: just checked the Ducati website - starts at $17,000 for the V2.

Ducati can do better with pricing, except they do it on purpose to be seen as “the premium brand” but a lot of that “premium” goes to their marketing department. It’s just a business strategy and that’s perfectly fine. I still prefer Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, as brands and business models.

Anche per queste ragioni, e visto il posizionamento del marchio, mi sento di muovere qualche critica al linguaggio di comunicazione, un pò scontato e da copywriter: "Audace, tagliente,..." Nulla contro lo speaker, per inciso, ma il testo, al netto delle technicalities, è da fast consumer goods e contiene aggettivi che si sentono dappertutto in automotive, purtroppo, rendendo piatto parte del contenuto.
The concept is a good one, but it, and from my personal experience all twin cylinder panigale based bikes, is marred by the practical issue of heat management. The rear subframe gets so darned hot, I can't ride that chassis. The v4 is fine for me, but the V2 is unbearable. This is truly unfortunate because dynamically it is a great chassis. But I have no plans to sell my tuono v4 any time soon, so perhaps this is a moot point. I would still love to have a Ducati supermid in the future if the heat management issue is ever resolved.
@@KevinDaken ha, fair point re: country and climate. I've ridden Harleys and the like and never experienced anything like panigale V2 heat. V2 KTMs I have never rode, although i considered one on my way to the tuono. Sounds like a good thing I went the way I did!

Ducati creates really beautiful motorcycles, no question about that. But the entire ownership cost, including cost of the motorcycle and accessories, are really high compared to other brands and it seems like Ducati wants to be the premium brand, separating itself from the rest, except MV Agusta. Ducati is slowly but surely becoming the Ferrari of motorcycles - something to be admired from a distance.
That’s always been the case. Service costs are high but they are offset by longer service intervals nowadays. Puts them on par with other brands in that respect.
@@jameskalas16 which other brands have the same maintenance cost, including the valve check on the Desmo engine? Intervals are not much longer, except the Multistrada V4.
@@AngelSapundzhiev given the intervals on Ducati are circa 15,000 miles…. A service on my old 959 was £600. A service on my Aprilia RSV4rf is £350 but is every 6000 miles. Was a similar situation for a Honda I used to own too. The MV Augusta F3 800 would have cost me about £350 per service every 3000 miles?!? Ducati really aren’t that much more expensive to maintain nowadays.

I’m still really happy that I got a V4

There are 2 bikes, so it's probably both, a V2 was announced and an SP is just normal, maybe SFV4R who knows.
