Wout van Aert fera son retour sur le Tour de Norvège jeudi, près de deux mois après sa lourde chute sur A Travers La Flandre. Le coureur de la Visma | Lease a Bike s'est cassé la clavicule, sept côtes et le sternum au cours de cette chute. Après un long travail pour faire son retour, Van Aert voudra surtout monter en puissance et se tester en course en Norvège, selon son entourage. Van Aert a dù modifier son programme et devrait maintenant courir le Tour de France avec les Jeux Olympiques dans le viseur. Interrogé par la RTBF sur sa possible participation au Tour de France, Wout Van Aert a répondu clairement : "C’est une possibilité que je puisse le faire mais c’est vraiment trop tôt pour le dire de manière définitive. D’abord, je vais rouler ici en Norvège et après, on va analyser ce qui est possible pour le futur, donc oui, mais c’est vraiment trop tôt pour le dire. J’espère progresser pendant cette semaine. Je n’ai pas d’ambition au niveau du résultat, j’espère aider l’équipe et trouver mes limites en course pour progresser."

fan of MVDP here, but certainly very happy to see him back. hope he wont be forced to work for the skeleton in the tour, hope he can grab a couple more big wins for himself soon. visma should stop wasting his abilities, if he fully focussed only on his own goals, he would win way more. they have a more than decent team for the classics and he is a brilliant rider for sure. WVA certainly had some bad luck but imo its not just that, MVDP is always there on point with the best form and i think it probably has to do with his preparation and the fact alpecin is basically built around him while visma is also a toptier GC team with more season goals. maybe WVA should look for a new team that uses him as the centerpiece of their team or tell visma that he will only go for GTs in the future if its for his own goals.
