I only have an acre of land & I discovered last year that I don’t have a green thumb because I managed to kill everything that I planted😢 There was a chicken coop on my property so my daughter gave me a rooster & a couple hens. I found that I love chickens, so I got some more. I figured that I may be able to barter for some fresh veggies with my eggs when the going gets tough, as we know it’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of time.
I admire your story, Chickens are great and make excellent fertilizer. Keep trying with your garden, dont give up it is a learning curve. My family is still trying to gey to the country, it has been 5 yrs now but pray for us

It’s basically a nutritional center out in the country where people go for 2 weeks at a time to learn how to heal their body using food and natural remedies and treatments. The food is 100% vegan. It’s all about country living. They help people with all types of conditions. They don’t even charge people, it’s all by donations and what you can give when your there. Listen to me, friends. Country living has been heavily romanticized as of late. Do not adhere to this belief. Country living is more difficult than city life, especially if you plan to take the step for the wrong reasons. Coming up with the money and finding the right spot is actually the easiest part of country living. It is an onward uphill battle from there. Babylon is not necessarily the city, although it primarily manifests there. Babylon is a state of mind, which leads laodicean Adventists to make little compromises until the line between worldliness and Godliness has been blurred. Babylon is an infiltrater which finds its way into the church and the hearts and minds of members. This spiritual confusion is why the SDA faith is loosing its footing-the members can't agree on anything because many have disregarded the original movement at its roots. Dabbling in worldliness slowly blurred the lines in the church. The point is that you might get out of Babylon, but have you separated your mind from Babylon? You can move to the country and take the city with you. Without true conversion, the devil follows you out to the city and into the country. Hence, we must consider the reason for leaving the city. It is not to escape, although it is an escape. The reason is to build character, which cannot happen when things are easy. God's people need to be purified and fortified through the fires of trials and tribulations. With the right mindset, country living will strengthen your relationship with God, and remind you of why you need him, teaching you to have real faith. It you want to understand the mindset required to endure the hardship of country living, read the book Education by Ellen G. White. It is a requirement for understanding the importance of building character. If you make the effort to understand this, your prayers for country living will be answered. But don't put your feet up when they are, because God is going to test your patience and your faith in Him in the country.
I agree country living has been deeply romanticized if you grew up in the city and are planning on moving into the country you will have a tough go of it me personally I grew up in the country and I tried living in the city for two years I could not make it there everything just seems so fake in this city

Yet, what a treasure and gift to sweat, toil and to merely touch, if even possible the suffering of what hardships are like our loving Lord. We want to move from London to where the Lord would have us, and it's been a difficult time of waiting but the Lord is good, His mercies endure forever- it's no light thing when plans go wrong. What is the character like when things go wrong?
Septic, well, and power isn’t off-grid though. A well requires an electric pump. Septic is off grid as that can be pumped paying a service but power (unless solar) is on grid. Am I missing something?
