I can't believe a player of your level on RUclips tips his hat to the great Poison Ivy. And you manage to come quite close to the Human Fly sound with a JazzMaster, which is pretty amazing. Congrats.
Your daughter has a brilliant teacher, just don't push too hard. She will teach you, if she enjoys music, and I know you're a good listener! Much love for all your efforts on youtube.
Your videos make me want to form an alternative 80s cover band. I love The Cramps, and this is probably my favourite of their songs... along with "Don't eat stuff of the sidewalk". You teach so many great alternative 80s songs. I was working in a(n alternative) record shop for the first half of the 80s and, well, nuff said, that's my bag. How about some Fuzztones? Sisters? (more) Bauhaus?
Another sublime lesson! Picked up the Cramps Psychedelic Jungle/Gravest Hits after you covered Goo Goo Muck and I love it, overwrought singing and all. It adds to the vibe. The Way I Walk is terrific. The rig rundown was extremely helpful. Cheers!
Adrian, thank you for another superb lesson and especially for taking us through your amp and pedalboard settings at the end. You pick the greatest songs.
Thanks Lee, very pleased you enjoyed it. I get a lot of questions about amp and pedal settings so I'm trying to do a bit of that at the end of each of my new vids.
I very much enjoy your channel. I’ve played in a number of bands though the years but have been recently playing again and have been slightly humbled by the six strings. ☺️ I was fortunate enough to see the Cramps I believe seven times mostly in Detroit and then in Los Angeles when I moved here in the early 80’s Just wanted to leave you a friendly comment and again gratitude for your content 👏🏻
Anything that keeps alive and pays homage to the sound of the Cramps and especially to the guitar stylings of Poison Ivy, who praise the gods is still with us, despite not playing publicly, is welcomed.
Fantastic! I stumbled upon your channel by chance and followed it since. I have to say it's a breath of fresh air to see someone that does not play solos and scales all the time but emphasises the importance of the song and music. Thanks !
The defining track of my student days; a brilliant choice and clear teaching as always. Really appreciated the gear rundown at the end too. Thank you Adrian.
If I had a kid, I would follow Adrian's suggestion, and introduce him/ her to (electric) guitar by learning how to play this, or Rumble. For the time being, I will practice myself ....
Another one of one of my favorite bands! Thanks Adrian! As you say, this is excellent for beginners, and indeed was one of the first songs I tackled. However, I believe I never got it right! I will now! Another good song is "I am cramped" - practice for barre chords.
anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk It’s usually pretty subtle. Rumble, How Soon is Now, Crimson and Clover, Crush With Eyeliner, some Duane Eddy, make heavy use of it. It’s super cool. Probably get sick of it like any effect if it’s used too often.
Yup, Univox U-1095 Super Fuzz, Fender Pro Reverb Amp, Fulltone Tremolo and a Maxon Delay, simple but yet very effective for her sound. Bryan Gregory used Fenders amps as well not sure on his fuzz pedal though, probably the same Super Fuzz
Thx for The Cramps lesson! Finally! Not just like all the blues metal same riffs all over youtube. Do ...Of Tanz Victims "Demented Tonearm".Nobody can do it properly.
I have been looking for people trying to teach lesson on the cramps , And I found this video awesome!!! Would you mind doing Domino also!! ( subscribed)
Hey adrian! Great stuff, have you ever considered doing A video on chet atkins. I would love to see A lesson on "hidden charm", its A a classic tune and is one of his more simple pieces. There are A few videos of people playing it on youtube but i am too slow to learn from them. I love all your videos and your way of explaining things and would be overjoyed if you made A tutorial on any chet atkins song.
Dude, I look forward to your channel and seeing what you come up with. You keep pulling out some amazing tunes that make practicing guitar fun. Songs I grew up with and songs that are truly unique. Thank you for being you. Any chance you plan on a Elvis Costello tune or tunes? Alison or New Amsterdam? Maybe something XTC?
Thanks Martyn. I might have to take a bit of a break from the Cramps for a while just as I've done 2 songs of their recently. Sure there will be more in the future though.
Sooo good.. I’m cramped ... i’m lovint cramps and you play, guitar cool .. fuuuzzzz ... 😍 coolovemusic mi firma.. au bye adiós muy bien explicado 🤙 valencia spñ
man I need to ask you a question What effects do you use to play the songs of the cramps? I like them to get them out but I want them to be heard as original as possible, as well as your videos that sound great I hope you answer me 🤟
"There is a god!" a Cramps lesson? the internet is improving little by little thank you!
Right and this guy is a great teacher
Instablaster.
Just need a meteors lesson and the Internet will then be perfect😉
I can't believe a player of your level on RUclips tips his hat to the great Poison Ivy. And you manage to come quite close to the Human Fly sound with a JazzMaster, which is pretty amazing. Congrats.
I'm an unzipped fly and I don't know why... this song always makes me smile.
Yes me too!
So I just started listening to The Cramps some 45 years late and am finally trying to learn the guitar - and here you are! How awesome is that!
Better late than never. And can always teach an old dog a knew trick.
Absolute beginner at age 57…
Thank you! Such a great lesson…it’s awesome to see you enjoy music from my ‘youth’ so much.
‘96 tears in 96 eyes’. A nice poetic nod, I guess, to the melancholy mood of the movie, The Fly, or to a great sixties pop song.
Richard Horvath *60’s Garage Rock song
Knowing Lux and Ivy, it could be both!
MORE CRAMPS!!!!!!!!
Cramps fan just about to start playing guitar at 55. Thank you for this!
Adrian, you play the coolest stuff! So cool 😎...
Thanks Buddy!
I've loved this song since I first heard it in the early nineties. I've played it live couple of times. It's hypnotic.
Your daughter has a brilliant teacher, just don't push too hard. She will teach you, if she enjoys music, and I know you're a good listener! Much love for all your efforts on youtube.
This is the best video on the internet ever. It should be shown to kids in schools

Thank you for including the rhythm part
Thanks Adrian for your good taste!!
Your repertoire is so cool!!
Another sublime lesson! Picked up the Cramps Psychedelic Jungle/Gravest Hits after you covered Goo Goo Muck and I love it, overwrought singing and all. It adds to the vibe. The Way I Walk is terrific. The rig rundown was extremely helpful. Cheers!
Truly the best song for someone to start on. This is the song I used to learn rhythm. Amazing stuff!
I got way too much joy from this.. Thanks...
Always glad to hear more from The Cramps!
I'm 16 and just started to learn to play electric guitar, love this song

Your videos are great. Just stated playing the bass guitar 6 months ago. Luv the cramps. Your B-52 video was great.
This is the best 'learn to play' video i have seen. Great stuff

So you're the guy who makes guitar lessons we didn't even think to look for )
Thank you so much and your playing and sound is great !
Anything that keeps alive and pays homage to the sound of the Cramps and especially to the guitar stylings of Poison Ivy, who praise the gods is still with us, despite not playing publicly, is welcomed.

The defining track of my student days; a brilliant choice and clear teaching as always.

I must confess, I know this song, but only from a 2 Many DJs mixtape. Great choice of tune as always!
Wow! Thanks a lot for this lesson of this great song!
F'n great! Lovin the Cramps!!!
Finally. A use for the tremolo besides Rumble 👍🏻
Indeed yes, you've got to love a bit of tremolo!
anyonecanplayguitar.co.uk It’s usually pretty subtle. Rumble, How Soon is Now, Crimson and Clover, Crush With Eyeliner, some Duane Eddy, make heavy use of it. It’s super cool. Probably get sick of it like any effect if it’s used too often.
David Reynolds for tremolo you got Ritchie Valens and Link Wray too!
Not too bad ;)
Thank you very much Adrian. More Cramps please.... The Way I Walk would be great.
I think Cramps used Univox Super Fuzz and Fulltone Tremolo pedals.
Great lesson thanks.
Absolutely love your teaching style.
Michael row your boat ashore is the reason I gave up guitar lessons many years ago 😕
I'm in love!
Wow that is totally awesome ! Love it !

I do like Chet, and I'll check out that tune. He was a master and some of his stuff is fearsomely tricky to play!
nice
i got here before you, sorry to steal your thunder

I’ve not commented on your channel before but i really enjoy it. Can we have more Cramps please. What’s in side a girl would be great
Thanks Martyn. I might have to take a bit of a break from the Cramps for a while just as I've done 2 songs of their recently. Sure there will be more in the future though.
Love the twang!!!
good channel, some really solid song choices. would love a Nerves/paul collins or some plimsouls.
great tune
Great lesson. You should try Wall of Voodoo's cover of Ring of Fire for true quirkiness in musical form.
Wow sounds just like it
thank you!
Thank you 🙏 Adrian. I love this relatively simple stuff. It helps me to learn. After all Im no Eddie Van Halen Llol
Fantastic video as usual! Ever thought about doing a echo and the bunnymen song?
Love Will Sergeant playing. Need some bunnymen
Yep I love Will's guitar parts. They are simple guitar parts but are absolute strokes of genius.
I'm trying to learn Silver at the moment by the way.
Now you’re talking. Silver is one of my all time favs. Also love the discord on heads will roll. Great band
Thanks! I have thought about doing some Bunnymen. I'm sure it will happen at some point.
Nice song choice !
Thanks for learning to play Poison Ivy Rorschach the femme distortionist hero of mine.
Thanks Linda. 'Femme distortionist hero' - I like it!
your amp collection is growing :-)
You can never really have too many can you?
Can you do bend over I'll drive? How much would you charge to do the tab for that song?
Hi Adrian. Your lucky cat on top of the amp likes this song! Have a lovely weekend.
