    Gonna just guess that once I crimp something so badly to where the prong won't even fit in, I'm fucked and gotta replace the wire.. right?

      If you can snip it right where the disconnect starts you might have enough room to put another on. If not just add an extension to the wire and put some heat sharing tubing on it.

    Hey man, do you think you could post a quick vid on soldering to a pcb??? Your vids helped me a ton when I modern my alpha stick. I just bought a UFB and I will need to resolver the USB cable onto it.

    @Sawdust and Circuits if I have acces to a 5 pin quick connect that you mentioned, can i spliced the cables and electrical tape them for each of the 5 connections?

    Hello. So can I use the wires from the ethernet cable for the fightstick buttons? Or were you just using it as an example?

    in case i dont have quick disconnect (it's not popular in vietnam) and soldering equipments (expensive here in vietnam), is it okay to use electronic tape or hot glue to stick the wire to the buttons?

    thanks for the follow-up video! yah i definitely watched a bunch of "how to crimp wires" and other videos trying to figure this part out. lol
    actually quick question, I bought a crimp tool and open barrel quick disconnects from focus attack and was wondering, how much copper should be touching the terminal? is it possible to expose too much copper for the terminal? watching this, i wish i had bought those QDs instead. and also extra ground wire because i had wondered how i would connect the end of it back to the terminal strip..for future reference, where can you purchase those heat shrink tubes?
    Thanks again and your crimp tool looks super legit!

      Hi Angelica, you want to have enough copper wire exposed to connect with the quick disconnect, not not so much that it is spilling out of either end. Some trial and error should get you more comfortable with it.
      The heat shrink tubing was from Amazon, very inexpensive.

    What about 7pin connectors you put the wires In to that connect to the PCB? What are those called specifically for the MadCatz Alpha? I'm re-doing my buttons and want to know where to buy some new white single row male connector plugs but I don't know what they are specifically called and it's size.

      Not sure if I know exactly what you are asking for. But the main button wires are still on the PCB and the ground wire is common and shared along the buttons. For that common ground you daisy chain the wire like I have shown here.

      +SoftserveSpecial my apologies for the poor wording. I'm on the wrong video. I was looking at your Alpha No soldering mod video and want to know what kind of 7pin connectors you use. Are they called JST female 7-pin?

      @GP2040-CE_TheTrain  8 лет назад

      +Donnie M no problem! They were just female / female connectors. I connected one on each wire.

      +Ricardo Molieri Hi Ricardo, sorry about the late reply. I use a "Neiko 01924A Wire and Cable Stripper with Self-Adjusting Jaws 10-26AWG" It was about $25 CAD from Amazon.

    Is it weird that I use my teeth to strip wire?
