Great video! The Upa can also be used when the opponent’s posture is high or upright and they are going for a strike. By using the Upa to interrupt during the strike, they have to base out with their hands or else be rolled. Once they base with their hands, you can wrap & trap one, or go into an Elbow Escape or something else if you prefer. 💜 X G G α (1.0)

They can literally just smash your head into the ground until you’re dead, and you think a little ear pinching will win you the fight? Think again

Was too drunk, got a hook punch to the nose that flew me half way into the street. Was out for a second and saw him coming but was still dizzy. He was 6'4", I am 5'8". Once he was on top I knew I had to wait for him to punch me. My arms blocked the front of my face so he hook punched around my arm to the side of the head. As soon as he hit me I palm struck him across the chin knocking him out and rolled over on top. He was out and I wanted to get more in but a friend grabbed me from behind a lifted me up. I used to train blindfolded against two attackers and I attribute the experience of contact limb knowledge to me getting out.

First Gracie combative move u learn at any Gracie academy. And still one of my favorite moves to do on people. It still works too on trained fighters during a scramble or something where their balance might not be the best. But u can also catch the arm if they throw a punch then roll too. It’s mainly about making sure they can’t post with their hand (that’s why u control the arm) trapping the leg. And using ur hips to bridge up and roll

That was the day I lost it, went outside after him for the first time and started pounding on him, and when he tried to hook me back I was so enraged I grabbed his arm out of the air like it was nothing and was going to break it.
