Prime Satele doesn’t beat Vader either. Cannon Vader is perhaps stronger than his legends counter part. In new Disney cannon (not a fan of cannon btw) he’s the strongest Sith lord to ever live, and it’s stated word for word. Legends Vader still wins imo. No Sith Lord has ever racked up more Jedi kills. Satele was not near Yoda’s level, at the time of RoTS Anakin was. Vader becomes stronger than RoTS Anakin. So it’s not underestimating her, it’s putting her against a foe she has no chance of defeating. Satele is fantastic, just Vader is phenomenal.

Why not? Yoda lived in the gold age of the Jedi Order. From the time when the Brotherhood of Darkness was destroyed (when Yoda was approximately born) till the Phantom Menace jedi had never met any worthy opponents to fight, so Yoda was only fighting in the Jedi Temple with other jedi, but I don't think it means smth

Most people forget that in the canon lore, Vader was one of the most powerful Sith Lords in existence Even though he had lost a great part of his potential, he compensated his loss of connexion to the force by the pain caused by his suit, reinforcing his anger and thus his connexion to the force. And we also need to remember that he is probably the greatest duelist among the force users in the canon lore. And that s not even mentioning the disadvantage of a Jedi fighting against him, his ruthlessness as a Sith Lord makes him an extremely dangerous opponent who would do anything to win (for example vader s duel against the Jedi master Kirak where the former had no lightsaber and was injured)

But the fact you should take into account some facts : - I said vader could be the strongest duelist in the canon cause if we put force abilities aside, vader could bust in duel both palpatine and yoda who heavily rely on the force during battle, not even mentioning that while yoda was in exile after ROTS, Vader kept training under Sidious and only acquired more duel skills. Dueling is not about the force abilities, it is about your mastery of a lightsaber - The reason why Vader lost to Obi-wan is his mistake of underestimating him and losing focus on his duel in front of his former master he was obsessed with - You could arguably say that Windu beat Sidious in ROTS but the latter was probably holding back cause he felt anakin s presence and sensed his arrival (like Kit Fisto did, which made him lose focus and caused his death). Palpatine had to drive anakin on his side, by any means necessary such as surrendering and begging windu for mercy + we could assume he could have killed windu had anakin chosen not to interfere. Obi Wan is high/extreme diff as well. As Obi WAN’s power is extremely amplified when he is fighting for someone he loves and in this case it’s Anakin. This brings him up to Vader+ power. This is shown multiple times in Kenobi and the movies

You do realise why no one could find Yoda is because he intentionally went into exile on a planet succumbed by Dark Side energy (aka Dagobah) to mask his presence. Yoda would get destroyed, Vader is an unstoppable juggernaut that Yoda doesn't have the physical power to hurt. Vader's defense is too tight, and he'd easily read Yoda's attacks, which are a single type- a jumping and or spinning attack. Yoda's force abilities require too much concentration, effort, and time for him to use in a duel.

Vader played with her in the first half of their battle; when he was distracted by Ezra and Kanan she cut his helmet and only after that he started to fight in his full force and he needed several minutes to almost kill her and he would have done it if it wasn't Ezra who saved her in the very last moment. vader completely dominated the entire duel. She couldn't attack him when she had 2 swords. And in the end he killed him. If she is still alive it is thanks to the Star Wars religion. She only managed to break his mask by attacking him in the back while he was using force on 2 other jedi.
For ppl who do not know why the editor had Vader low-mid diff most of the Jedi on this list, Vader is capable of analyzing the opponent’s attack moves and quickly adapting to their form of combat, allowing him to quickly dispatch his opponents. So anyone complaining about the editor, he’s talking fax.
What we know is that Vader, even without him limbs growth a lot in power in the years (it is canon that suited Vader is stronger than Vader in ep.3) and even if he don't reach his full potential he become absolutely stronger than Yoda. Vader is considered stronger than Sidious in terms of lightsaber skills, and he have huge feats with the force that Yoda don't have. And in all the what if scenarios where Vader and Yoda fought, Vader won (books and comics). So even if these scenarios are not canon, they are at least an indication. We also have an early interview of Lucas where he said that Yoda would lose against Vader in a fight, this is also an old interview so not 100% canon, but is at least another indication. All the indications from the materials we have, canon and not canon, from feats etc.. put Vader over Yoda. Just Yoda's fan boys put him over Vader just because he is little, green and cute. Sure Yoda is strong and for Vader would be an high diff win, but Vader will win. Vader is more durable, trained to counter the fighting style of Yoda, he have more raw power in the force, more stamina etc.. Yoda advantage point is only his agility, while he physically weaker, he run out of stamina quickly, he is fragile, a lot less durable etc.. one good blow and Yoda is down, while Vader can tank TONS of damages. Yoda is completely in disadvantage in this fight, and this is one of the reasons he hide on a lost planet without dare to face Vader or the Emperor alone.

I know that I’m pretty late to the party but when I was much younger at a Star Wars event many years ago I had the good fortune to ask George Lucas some questions since we were in the same room together. My sister did record it on my old iPhone so I still have this footage somewhere - maybe I’ll find it one day, who knows. But I did ask George who would win between Vader and Mace Windu & his answer genuinely shocked me. He said flat out that, “Vader would win easily.” I was astonished when he said that but his explanation for it was very coherent and made a lot of sense. He stated that Mace Windu uses Vapad lightsaber form which is great against dark side users (I imagine that this is how he defeated Sidious). However, he explained that Darth Vader is not pure evil and dark side like Sidious is. He also explained how Vader was a better dualist and spent the majority of his battlefield experience as a light side user. Furthermore, Mace Windu’s character is extremely flawed & Anakin/Vader knows this on a very personal level. He explained how Vader is smart enough to use Mace’s arrogance against him AND is still angry about how Mace treated him in the Jedi order. He stated that Vader has a personal vendetta against Windu & that if they were to face-off, Vader’s powers would be enhanced due to his rage and hatred for the man. Essentially, Windu’s Vaapad form would be mitigated by Vader’s extremely focused approach and duelling capabilities (which are greater than his). So yeah, I thought that was very interesting but it makes a lot of sense. Vader’s force abilities trump Windu’s also. It’s particularly interesting because those who believe Windu would win simply because he beat Sidious haven’t really delved deep enough into the star wars lore to realise that Vader would slam dunk him - simply because Vader isn’t Palps. It is true that Vader is only 80% the power of Sidious - but Vader is better at lightsaber combat than Sidious. Sidious believed that he had surpassed the need for s lightsaber whereas Vader made it his life’s mastery - much like Windu. (This second paragraph is my own thoughts and not what George said). 😁😊

Kenobi was pretty much 2-1 against Vader. And in that one loss, Kenobi practically gave up. Windu could likely amp himself up off of Vader's dark side energy and match or even overwhelm Vader's strength. It's how he beat Sidious.

Prime Satele doesn’t beat Vader either. Cannon Vader is perhaps stronger than his legends counter part. In new Disney cannon (not a fan of cannon btw) he’s the strongest Sith lord to ever live, and it’s stated word for word.
Legends Vader still wins imo. No Sith Lord has ever racked up more Jedi kills. Satele was not near Yoda’s level, at the time of RoTS Anakin was. Vader becomes stronger than RoTS Anakin. So it’s not underestimating her, it’s putting her against a foe she has no chance of defeating. Satele is fantastic, just Vader is phenomenal.

- I said vader could be the strongest duelist in the canon cause if we put force abilities aside, vader could bust in duel both palpatine and yoda who heavily rely on the force during battle, not even mentioning that while yoda was in exile after ROTS, Vader kept training under Sidious and only acquired more duel skills. Dueling is not about the force abilities, it is about your mastery of a lightsaber
- The reason why Vader lost to Obi-wan is his mistake of underestimating him and losing focus on his duel in front of his former master he was obsessed with
- You could arguably say that Windu beat Sidious in ROTS but the latter was probably holding back cause he felt anakin s presence and sensed his arrival (like Kit Fisto did, which made him lose focus and caused his death). Palpatine had to drive anakin on his side, by any means necessary such as surrendering and begging windu for mercy + we could assume he could have killed windu had anakin chosen not to interfere. Windu kicked Sidious saber out during the fight but we the latter had another one (probably hidden on him)

Obi Wan is high/extreme diff as well. As Obi WAN’s power is extremely amplified when he is fighting for someone he loves and in this case it’s Anakin. This brings him up to Vader+ power. This is shown multiple times in Kenobi and the movies

Vader played with her in the first half of their battle; when he was distracted by Ezra and Kanan she cut his helmet and only after that he started to fight in his full force and he needed several minutes to almost kill her and he would have done it if it wasn't Ezra who saved her in the very last moment.

For ppl who do not know why the editor had Vader low-mid diff most of the Jedi on this list, Vader is capable of analyzing the opponent’s attack moves and quickly adapting to their form of combat, allowing him to quickly dispatch his opponents. So anyone complaining about the editor, he’s talking fax.
What we know is that Vader, even without him limbs growth a lot in power in the years (it is canon that suited Vader is stronger than Vader in ep.3) and even if he don't reach his full potential he become absolutely stronger than Yoda. Vader is considered stronger than Sidious in terms of lightsaber skills, and he have huge feats with the force that Yoda don't have. And in all the what if scenarios where Vader and Yoda fought, Vader won (books and comics). So even if these scenarios are not canon, they are at least an indication. We also have an early interview of Lucas where he said that Yoda would lose against Vader in a fight, this is also an old interview so not 100% canon, but is at least another indication. All the indications from the materials we have, canon and not canon, from feats etc.. put Vader over Yoda. Just Yoda's fan boys put him over Vader just because he is little, green and cute. Sure Yoda is strong and for Vader would be an high diff win, but Vader will win. Vader is more durable, trained to counter the fighting style of Yoda, he have more raw power in the force, more stamina etc.. Yoda advantage point is only his agility, while he physically weaker, he run out of stamina quickly, he is fragile, a lot less durable etc.. one good blow and Yoda is down, while Vader can tank TONS of damages. Yoda is completely in disadvantage in this fight, and this is one of the reasons he hide on a lost planet without dare to face Vader or the Emperor alone.

Ok in the first fight we’re even shown that skills wise anakinw as above he was the one coming out on top of their flashes and we are even shown bi wan barley able to even hold his lightsaber in the strength of Vader what got obi wan his Victory was his amazing battle iq and form with soresu obi wan specializes in prolonged fights which led to obi wan to exploit anakins weakness which was very low guards anakin got overconfident knowing that by far he was the better duelist he didn’t think obi wan would exploit a weakness which led to obi wan successfully baiting anakin giving obi wan the win and the next duel it’s even stated by sidious that Vader was conflicted that whole fight and even then with obi wans sudden power boost obi wan still knew Vader could win that’s why he kept going in and out striking Vader in weak spots and even changing up his style for his fight he uses a form 3 stance but immediately goes for form 4 and form 1 attacks and movements tricking Vader you’ve also got to really at both those times Vader not only wasn’t at his prime at all but Vader was also Vader was also either very overconfident and slacking with his skill or conflicted in not wanting to kill obi wan like obi wan fought prime Vader in his old age where btw obi wan was arguably more powerful than before and it’s stated in the novel Vaders simple strikes were so powerful obi wan was barley able to defend obi wan at his prime could barley handle a toting Vaders simple strikes Vader even taunts obi wan the entire time and this Vader was stated to be stronger than he’s ever been before implying that Vader at that time was significantly stronger than before like a new level of strong

I know that I’m pretty late to the party but when I was much younger at a Star Wars event many years ago I had the good fortune to ask George Lucas some questions since we were in the same room together. My sister did record it on my old iPhone so I still have this footage somewhere - maybe I’ll find it one day, who knows. But I did ask George who would win between Vader and Mace Windu & his answer genuinely shocked me. He said flat out that, “Vader would win easily.” I was astonished when he said that but his explanation for it was very coherent and made a lot of sense. He stated that Mace Windu uses Vapad lightsaber form which is great against dark side users (I imagine that this is how he defeated Sidious). However, he explained that Darth Vader is not pure evil and dark side like Sidious is. He also explained how Vader was a better dualist and spent the majority of his battlefield experience as a light side user. Furthermore, Mace Windu’s character is extremely flawed & Anakin/Vader knows this on a very personal level. He explained how Vader is smart enough to use Mace’s arrogance against him AND is still angry about how Mace treated him in the Jedi order. He stated that Vader has a personal vendetta against Windu & that if they were to face-off, Vader’s powers would be enhanced due to his rage and hatred for the man. Essentially, Windu’s Vaapad form would be mitigated by Vader’s extremely focused approach and duelling capabilities (which are greater than his). So yeah, I thought that was very interesting but it makes a lot of sense. Vader’s force abilities trump Windu’s also.
It’s particularly interesting because those who believe Windu would win simply because he beat Sidious haven’t really delved deep enough into the star wars lore to realise that Vader would slam dunk him - simply because Vader isn’t Palps. It is true that Vader is only 80% the power of Sidious - but Vader is better at lightsaber combat than Sidious. Sidious believed that he had surpassed the need for s lightsaber whereas Vader made it his life’s mastery - much like Windu. (This second paragraph is my own thoughts and not what George said). 😁😊
