I am so honored to have my song performed by this wonderful group of young, talented musicians. Thank you all for bringing me a singular joy unlike any I have ever had. The tears are rolling down my facer as I write this. God bless you all. Sincerely, Jim Goodwin
Jim, you and Michael wrote an incredible song! I'm sure you miss Michael greatly, as we all do. The Call had such an incredible influence on me during the 80's. Though a singer and guitar picker, your keys were so prevalent in songs by The Call that it made me wish I could play the ivories. Thank you for the music, brotha!
a long time ago in a universe where people rented dvds and vhs tapes, I had a job at blockbuster. On busy nights, I'd have a cued up tape of lost boys which I'd slip into the vcr for the timmy cappello scene and everyone would just stop what they were doing and stare in amazement. thank you for the awesome cover
Funny, the first time I heard this was a version by Russ Taff, a Christian performer, then I heard the lost boys version, RT's is by for the best version, just with the amount of soul he puts in it. But not to take away from these kids, they're awesome!
also, do you know the name of the band of which Nate is playing in? would love to see what he’s doing these days! so happy this organization to bring forward such talent and exposure to these kids. all of those kids bring so much to the table!
Excellent cover. I love the fact the kids are honouring The Call who originally wrote the song, Tim Capello with his sax version and the Lost Boys film for us movie fans.
I am 53 and this song has always moved me, for many different reasons over the years, that said, you divine human beings, have done it again...i am moved in another way.
Haha, I was just gonna say, this sounds more like Tim Cappello's cover of the original version. No disrespect to these kids at all, though, because this is very cool version!
In all fairness they say for fans of the lost boys....so of course its based on Tims cover.....and the sax did so much for his cover (which will always be the best version). I did rather enjoy the Waco verion though....Koresh forever.
I looked up the lead singer of this. The kid, Nate Sego, is a freshman goalkeeper playing soccer for Belmont University. Which, as far as I can tell, is Division I, though they just had a tough season (3-15). Still … talented kid. I think his vocals are the best part of this cover.
This song was on in the movie The Lost Boys. Song by Russ Taft. Hats off to the singer...Sony Music should hire him full time and support him on his own solo career...
A cover that does justice to the original, and adds some neat layers to it, as well. Beautifully done. Saw the Call (with Michael Been's son on vocals) in Los Angeles in the Spring. Amazing show, and this is easily among their most amazing songs. Loved hearing this.
These kids are effing amazing. Anyone who puts a thumbs down hates music in general, and deserves to listen to nothing but their own sad internal soundtrack. Probably off key 8 bit elevator music. I Still Believe!
The only disappointment is that the sax player didn’t have a greasy pony tail and wasn’t on steroids. Other than that it was spot on to the “Lost Boys”. Great job kids!
Aaron...I don't know how on earth you resisted the urge to not go shirtless and greased up in spandex pants with a tied back mullet while playing sax...much respect.
I always come back to this video for one reason - Nate Sego. They are all incredible but Nate Sego is a class of his own, an unbelievable singer, what a voice! Just unbelievable!
Jim, I can only imagine what you were feeling hearing these unbelievably talented kids playing your song. Tears where flowing and I have no personal ties to this song . I almost enjoyed your post as much as this performance of it. Boy oh boy what I would give to have these kids do one of my songs. This made my day, thank you!
Such a great cover of such a great song! Lost Boys was one of my favourite 80s movies, and as a sax player in my high school band, that sax part blew my mind! I only took sax back up again during lockdowns but still haven mastered this song! Life goals! 😂
@Dany Rizk look up Waco the series or the book 'a place called Waco' he played this song out to the feds with the remaining generator power him and his followers had a week or so before they would have CS TearGas used on them which set itself on fire somehow and burned 86 people alive including 25 children (below is a link to the show) drive.google.com/drive/folders/1b0s76yLh4QFzcSNPBHKFvKrO88dnXFMH?usp=sharing
I love music and what this school does for these kids is amazing these kids are so talented I hope they follow music follow your dreams dont let anyone tell you cant do it because these kids defy all that by being talented and amazing
Very impressive. To nail it and do so with your own flavor is the ultimate compliment to a legendary song introduced at much more innocent and fun, exciting and amazing era.

It truly is an honour for you.....and keep on believing kids !
So badass!!!!
This is so cool.

awesome yes but still thank you this song was an anthem for me
Whoever runs this is a big lost boys fan you can tell.
The kid singing is just freaking brilliant! And the sax player! The drummer!
Can't believe (no pun intended) that I just found this video. Excellent. Michael would be proud.
You have done real justice to this song....keep believing and you will go far !!!! Well done all .

I worked at a video store where I delighted putting this on to watch
That story just made my day... thank you 👍
Jamie gertz.

Love the song you have a footprint in history...:) Be well and prosper...
I know that kid is about 25 now and that he has his own band. I've replayed this at least 100x. I wish he would do a concert here.
same with me, Deborah. I always wondered what happened to the kids and where they all ended up!
also, do you know the name of the band of which Nate is playing in?
would love to see what he’s doing these days! so happy this organization to bring forward such talent and exposure to these kids.
all of those kids bring so much to the table!
@@Spunky072 "Sego" they sound a bit like Beck
@@brianisntreal thank you!
These kids hands down rocked the shit out of this song!!! Tim Cappello would be proud!
Amazing! The kid singing has the voice of an angel and major kudos to the guy playing the sax!
The Singer slays.
Excellent cover. I love the fact the kids are honouring The Call who originally wrote the song, Tim Capello with his sax version and the Lost Boys film for us movie fans.
That drummer doesn't miss a beat. AWSOME!!!!
That snare drum sounds great too!
So...now you know what we are. Now you know what you are. You'll never grow old, Michael. And you'll never die...but you must feed...
TheDragon803 Death by stereo
Love it
I'm telling MOM! MICHAEL. What are we gonna be the BLODD SUCKING BRADY BUNCH?!
I'm glad to see music generation
I am 53 and this song has always moved me, for many different reasons over the years, that said, you divine human beings, have done it again...i am moved in another way.
Flash backs from Tim Cappello on the beach scene of "the Lost Boys"... nicely 8-)
Haha, I was just gonna say, this sounds more like Tim Cappello's cover of the original version. No disrespect to these kids at all, though, because this is very cool version!
Yeah, of course. Cause no overblown 80's sax on the original. But everyone knows the song for the 'Lost Boys' version.
Now this kid has to hit the gym and gain 50 pounds of muscle to be like Tim.
I love the sax.
In all fairness they say for fans of the lost boys....so of course its based on Tims cover.....and the sax did so much for his cover (which will always be the best version).

I know who this guy singing is! He sang the lead in November Rain!!
Great cover!

The lead singer is really good.
This is so 80's... It's like being back in school! Fantastic vocals, great cohesion from all the musicians.
Nate's voice gets better and better. Aaron you are an awesome teacher! Your students are awesome too!
Real musicians not untalented Muppets from a talent show!
These youngsters have done justice to the 80s and to a Hallmark movie . Thank you!
These kids are effing amazing. Anyone who puts a thumbs down hates music in general, and deserves to listen to nothing but their own sad internal soundtrack. Probably off key 8 bit elevator music. I Still Believe!
You guys were on point with this one. Outta the park you hit it. That sax player and drums were awesome
This Version is an amazing Masterpiece..! So danceable. Please never delete it here. Thank YOU.
This is unbelievably good. The girl on drums is real good. The timing is excellent.!!
Beautiful!
These Kids have learned the discipline of music, and the respect of all those musicians who have a part to play... so awesome
The only disappointment is that the sax player didn’t have a greasy pony tail and wasn’t on steroids. Other than that it was spot on to the “Lost Boys”. Great job kids!
Wow, brilliant
Shared this song with my middle school grandson who has been playing drums for about a year. He loves it! 🤗
The drummer is relentless.
Hell yeah!!! This is this vocalists song, for sure! I hoped it was the song I thought it was. Obscure and incredible cover! You kids rock!
Bloody good version I love it, that chaps voice is fantastic !

You guys are awesome
Still one of my fave O'Keefe videos, they sound Phenominal...
I'll be honest...the lead singer should release this as a solo single...
I think so too
i think he should stop singing from his throat
Nate u are fucking awesome
@@stephenrussell7342 he was a kid. He sounds like a kid. It is what it is.
Spine tingling!!! Nate has such a unique smooth voice......all are excellent!! Good sax......
The Call!!! RIP Michael Been.
That was sick. Almost as good as the original. Still top notch.
You are all amazing! That sax player has a set of lungs on him! Keep believing!!!!

Despite all I see around me, I still believe.
Still one of the best things I've ever heard! Hope these kids are still playing 'cause they're amazing!!
Amazing to see these young people doing this song that makes me weep anytime I hear it. And kudos on the female drummer! 🙂
Goosebombs!
Aaron...I don't know how on earth you resisted the urge to not go shirtless and greased up in spandex pants with a tied back mullet while playing sax...much respect.
Brilliant I loved this I think Tim Cappello would love it to
I still believe, and I'm still loooving this! 🥳
I always come back to this video for one reason - Nate Sego. They are all incredible but Nate Sego is a class of his own, an unbelievable singer, what a voice! Just unbelievable!
The cover he did with one of the back up vocalists of tom petty and stevie nicks was amazing!
This lead singer is awesome. I love the real vibraphone! How fun that had to have been going in at that age at crc!
@Jedi Ambassador I was talking about the vibraphone part, not the sax part. Watch at 2:50 for a visual ffs
@Jedi Ambassador 😁
@Jedi Ambassador Yasss. That would have been rad. I couldn't believe it when he passed away. Very very sad.
Very impressive- especially considering how young these kids are.
Jim,
I can only imagine what you were feeling hearing these unbelievably talented kids playing your song. Tears where flowing and I have no personal ties to this song . I almost enjoyed your post as much as this performance of it.

I love this!!! Such a great sound for an 80's song!!
Great cover guys. It is an amazing song from a truely classic film with a kickass soundtrack. But job well done!!
I love these kids. Please don't loss that beautiful soul and spirit of music that GOD gave you
MY RESPECT TO ALL OF YOU 💗🥰

This song is perfect and performed by a group of young extremely talented people
One word - AWESOME

Great job, kids. I was your age when this song came out. Still a great song to play.
Best cover of this track ever. Sooo dope. I miss the 80's. Best time to be a kid. We had the best of everything.
Wow...Nate's vocals continue to amaze me! The whole group is just awesome! What a great video.
this young man has talent, I'm hooked on these kids.
how can you possibly critique these kids? they are so good! blows me away! gives us hope for the future!
Fantastic rendition! These kids should be super proud of this! :)

Damn they all were awesome nailed it but that boy on lead vocals nailed it. Perfect voice for the song.
Awesome! Young kids bringing nostalgia
The fact you even covered this song is beyond brilliant and amazing! ❤️🤘😎
I simply cannot say enough about this. Song choice, execution, production, simply fucking outstanding!!!!!!
This is fantastic, i'm fan of this film, i'm 56 years old. I'm brazilian, live in São Paulo. Like add.
It amazes me how someone can put all those instruments together and make a cool song.
Epic 80s feels here!! Great cover, these kids are amazingly talented!!
Absolutely Fantastic. Truly a great cover
Looove it! That kid has an awesome voice! They all are great! 💜🎸🎶💙
