Great hunt! Nice finds! As far as the $100k, check under the wood burning stove in that garage. An 80 year old man down the road from me passed away and supposedly had a lot of money stashed away, well, they thoroughly checked the house and didn't find a thing until someone suggested to remove the wood burning stove. To their surprise, they found $185k under that stove. I actually knocked on this mans door the day before to ask if I could metal detect and got no response from him, so I called his relatives and they came out and found him dead. Just a suggestion from experience. Thanks for sharing!! GL & HH
+Mike Wolanin Wow, I listened to it right after this and it is the exact same tone and note..... did they use a metal detector for the instrumental? XD
Remove 1 cinder block, hollow it and you can fit 500k + in hundred dollar bills inside, then put it back in place paint over cracks and dents made, fill if nesisary, paint multiple layers around the cracks where it was removed to make it look like nothing was touched.
Anthony Ricciardi how stupid are you? If you try to deposit 500,000 into a bank you better have records of every dollar or you will be put in jail for a long time, plus banks charge a percentage of your money how do you think they make money? Id rather keep my 500k cash and defend it with my own resources rather than be charged 5% or so to hold my cash. I mean cmon think man.
Anthony Ricciardi you obviously haven't having 500k in cash they will put you in jail for tax fraud, and 500k of unmarked cash will be anywhere from 6-12 months in prison. they will ask where the cash came from and if you dnt have a legal explanation you are fucked. if someone were to steal a dollar from my house they would be caught on camera multiple times and I wouldn't call cops, I have never called a pig in my life I would handle it my self and deal with it accordingly.
you seem to have been treasure hunting for a while now, every video you put up seems like your first. Its inspirational to watch and listen to you and how excited you are EVERY time. I just love watching all your finds. Maybe I ll get a medical detector some time .I have spent all day watching your posts. I'm going to save up and get one. then Ill let you know what I found. Thank you for all your hard work, You make it look like so much fun.
Jeez, already 15.7K views JD.. Awesome. This is popping up in my side bar when I watch detecting videos, and it isn't recommended to me by youtube, which is good.
I've never monetized anything of mine, but if the views keep climbing, I would. Spend the money you make on silver and other investments to make your videos better? :)
I just came across your channel.....great videos! I like the fact that you do not rub the coins with your fingers and sand them down (one of the things that make me cringe while watching detecting videos...that and the over use of the words "I'll take it" :-)). I also enjoy the fact that you include the grading and approximate value of your finds! Keep the great videos coming!
Joseph Smithers Yeah and good luck keeping that 100k in the bank. The government notices if someone deposits 100,000 cash into their bank account when they've never received that much before. It's suspicious even if it's in increments of 2-10k. It's also suspicious if they never report it in their taxes... and suspicious if the guy has a record in drug dealing... even anonymous Swiss bank accounts are monitored, investigated and frozen upon suspicion. Safety deposit boxes of those suspected of a crime can easily be traced and searched by the police or the IRS.
Oh, BTW, did I miss something? The title of your video is very misleading. You barely discussed the whole drug dealers hidden money thing and didn't even act like that is what you were looking for! Title should have been "BASIC METAL DETECTION DAY, FOUND A FEW DIRTY OLD COINS&COOL MILK TOKENS!" Honestly titling your videos may not get you millions of views like you got off this title but it will earn you some kudos&respect for being truthful rather than like all the other videographers in your genre
+JovialDaze There are a lot of different reasons to factor in. Including density of the soil, weight & shape of the object, worms and moles, how moist the ground is, foot traffic, etc....
Silver doesn't corrode. On the other hand, all the old pennies and nickels I find are always dark & corroded and the surface wears off. That's because copper and nickel don't do well in the ground. That's the amazing thing about silver coins, they can be in the ground 1,000 years and still be in the same condition as when they were dropped. You should see some of the guys in the UK dig up silver roman coins. It's amazing!
No problem. A good starter machine is the Garrett Ace-250. If you need any help just let me know. You can get 10% off almost any machine with my code, just check out the video description for more details. I help people get started in the hobby all the time. :)
Where would I hide all that money in the garage? Being that more that likely it's paper money, I would put it in plastic bags buried under a poured cement floor.. Then when I needed it to make my exit, dig it up and fix the floor so no one would know. Maybe I watch too much tv. LOL
where he put that money is obvious! And that kid walked right past it. It's in a place that's half brilliant and half idiotic. I'm half tempted to go get it myself. But I'm on disability they won't let me keep that much money and I'm not into defrauding the government. plus if I went and got it and then lost my disability because of it, that much money wouldn't last that long. I'm thinking about maybe letting that old man know where it is. Or I'm thinking about who I would tell or maybe it's more fun to wait and see who finds it. This is a tough one.
JD, like the video's and descriptions. Keep it up. Im a "novice" having just bought a decent machine (CTX 3030) and find that detecting is super addictive. After watching this video something struck me about the location. I was hunting a very small piece of property recently that had to be within a mile or two of where this video was shot. Never found anything there but have been doing ok at some local schools and parks. Good luck digging around that area. I know there is a lot of old history all around it if we can get permissions... :)
Personally I would have checked the corner pillars on the building and also the large blocks that made the bottom of the windows wouldn't have been easy but I know that you can cut concrete fairly easily and hollow it out too, it takes a fair bit of effort to do it right but once you have hollowed the portion you want to use fill it with your contraband and place the piece you cut off where it came from use grout/glue to seal the edge and paint over the top with thick acrylic paint to hide any tool marks/colour difference between concrete and grout/glue. fair bit of effort to go through but depending on how bad you want it hidden It's worth doing. Very easy to access but not something you would want to do in a rush being you might damage your surfaces, good if you have time to access it though, little bit of chisel work and you've got your loot. Just my thoughts from my experiences.
Nice finds! I was just wondering, when you search someones property like this whats the deal? Do you get to keep everything you find or do you split it?
wyatt croft Silver doesn't rust and takes a loooong time to tarnish under ground. Gold doesn't rust, tarnish, corrode... You can find gold buried 1,000 years ago and it will look exactly the same.
I would absolutely love to have an opportunity to speak with this lovely old man. Too often today, kids don't want to listen to the stories someone with so much wisdom has to tell. And the pictures he has! Amazing! I think that was my favorite part of this video this go around! Sorry! Video is great though!
The money wouldn't be you'res If they owned it, they dont it's drug money property of the state and the state would tell you why you handing it in nobody would know about it just split it between you your buddy n the landlord in call it sweet days cash
If you would like to Increase the value of your coins never never wipe them with your hands especially with gloved hands I carry a large mouthed plastic bottle and some soft rags and a very soft brush. I put in 3/4 full of water and 1/4 tsp of liquid dish soap. I let the coins soak 1st then later lightly brush them off and pat them dry never rub them hope this catches on
as long as you can prove you legally obtained the 100k ,you will have no problem putting it in the bank. if you can't prove it then you have big problems because the IRS is gonna take it charge you with tax invasion and that's just the beginning.
I'm sorry but if I find a hundred thousand of drug money the owner splitting it with me or they can give it all to the cops cuz drug money is not your money
Jon sam We hunt for the thrill. Even if we don't get a reward (because it's drug money for instance) then that's okay. But if we were hunting for a legitimate "legal" cache for someone then I would want a cut for my services. ;-)
If somebody wants me to take the illegal drug money they better give me a cut if its legit money then I can see you doing it for the thrill but I'm not here to make people rich off of scumbag drug money
I assume if is was found it would be reported to the authorities by the owner. There's no way we would just hand it over to him and walk away never knowing what happened to it. And if he did offer a cut (which I'm sure he would have) then we would have made sure it was legal money.
Yeah that's okay all I'm saying is I would not have helped somebody retrieve drug money well that is if it doesn't go to the authorities or in my pocket ;)
I have like 3 to 4 buffalo nickels and they're in good condition everything is clear u can see everything perfectly any thoughts on what I should do with them.
inside of a couple of cinder blocks ... possibly installed in a non/low load bearing section(s) of wall ..... maybe also look for grout that looks different from surrounding grout ..... also look at the cement floor and then look for any abnormal patchwork as well as any seemingly "FIXED" or heavy items like a stove or furnace and move aside and inspect concrete/cement underneath.
If there was any money hidden in there, it would be in the hollow part of those cinder blocks Maybe how that metal roof is joined improperly would allow for easy access and no visible altering by removing the grommets that hold the decking down and cut away that expanding foam would be my way since after the foam sets you cant tell date on install if it wasn't exposed to sunlight
i know of a island off of crystal river florida, thats made all of ground up shells and coral, muscles. its a decent size, like half acre, with plants and vegitation in the middle, cacti all over. On this islandmy buddy found spanish gold, there is still allot left on these islands. You just need a lil john boat to get out to them.
As I lived in the US as an exchangestudent I got a coin from the WW2 time which is one of the once which had a litle more silver in them as usual because they needed the other metal for the guns and bullets :D
Checked the top of the door frame? I had found a stash of mixed old old bills adding to 2k wrapped in newspapers while doing demo in a very very old house.
Hey guys, so I have property in upstate NY that is 120 acres. It was an old dairy farm. Most of it is woods or open fields. There used to and is much old barbed wire around the land. I am looking into purchasing a metal detector to see if there is any hidden treasures under the ground. Any ideas on which type I should look into? Strictly for my own property not doing this as a hobby Thanks

Colten Cook You sound like you have done something like that before. :)
Colten Cook They put steel re bar through the blocks before they fill them, So it wouldn't work
Anthony Ricciardi LOL
Anthony Ricciardi how stupid are you? gabi jo me too, I'd slip it down via the top. then if I really needed it I'd take a sledge hammer to the wall
I'd hide 100k in the fucking bank.

My kids and I put your videos up on the tv and enjoy. Great finds!!
This is a great idea for a video, great job. I can't believe you found so much.
Thanks. I've been going hard at learning the craft of treasure hunting for over 4 years now. It's taken me on some great adventures! :)

how are these coins over a hundred years old and only buried 4 inches deep in dirt?
+JovialDaze There are a lot of different reasons to factor in. Including density of the soil, weight & shape of the object, worms and moles, how moist the ground is, foot traffic, etc....
+JD's Variety Channel thanks
+john brand that's what in saying. if the coin is a hundred years old, it wouldn't be 4 inches deep.
+john brand Well they are in the ground and the ground does have dirty. I mean just sayin

this video is honestly better than many of these hand camera filmed movies
JD That was an interesting video with some cool history, along with some great finds. Great stuff DD
+Digger Dawn Thanks Dawn. :)
When the intro is a minute long
did the drug dealers deal in nickels, dimes ,quarters and pennies? I highly doubt you will find any paper notes with a metal detector.
How much does your metal detector cost?
+GameReal One in this video cost me $1,549.00. But you can get a decent machine that will still find stuff for $200-$300. :)
+JD's Variety Channel ok, thanks!
No problem. A good starter machine is the Garrett Ace-250. If you need any help just let me know. You can get 10% off almost any machine with my code, just check out the video description for more details. I help people get started in the hobby all the time. :)

+Zack Augustine 27 (26 in the video)
JD's Variety Channel You sound much younger than your actual age!
I get that a lot. =D
JD's Variety Channel I really hope I didnt come off rude or offensive towards you in any kind of way by calling you young. I meant it as a compliment.
It's all good! =D
Where would I hide all that money in the garage? Being that more that likely it's paper money, I would put it in plastic bags buried under a poured cement floor.. Then when I needed it to make my exit, dig it up and fix the floor so no one would know. Maybe I watch too much tv. LOL
Prison break?
+MrAwesomePvp sounds like it to me
I would put the 100,000 in between the walls in the concrete cement blocks or under the house in the crawl apaec
Just roof it trust me then you cannot get it seized lol
bury it in a fresh concrete floor pour.
where he put that money is obvious! And that kid walked right past it. It's in a place that's half brilliant and half idiotic. I'm half tempted to go get it myself. +P.Gallo AllAmericanAngel in between the wood panels on the house?
+Nine Six. Not a bad guess. But then it could be at risk if the house burned. It is safer out doors and under something heavy.
JD, like the video's and descriptions. Keep it up. Im a "novice" having just bought a decent machine (CTX 3030) and find that detecting is super addictive.

You find such cool coins. I'm hoping to get into this hobby soon. Once it's not so snowy. The idea of digging up history just sounds so cool.
JD's Variety Channel As long as I spend it fast, no one will know >:)
Mekkrage you're an idiot..
BWeed Edits I'm just kidding XD
Just don't leave a paper trail. Hehe
Like your videos but the opening is far too long.
Tom Langley Thanks. I shortened my intro to a few seconds on most of my newer videos. :-)
Nice finds! I was just wondering, when you search someones property like this whats the deal? Do you get to keep everything
you find or do you split it?
Just depends on the owner. Some let you keep everything, and some want you to share the finds. =)
buried in a tight 10 gallon plastic pickle bucket 5 ft from a medium sized tree
+Robert Hooten Most specific guess so far. Haha.
I like the fact that you are interested and tell us about the history behind the place. For people hating on here, just dont watch :)
That guys family history was very interesting thanks for putting that in.
Ha so according to this guy people just been running around throwing money all over the ground
ok
+Krytern UK He just finds too many perfect condition items is all I'm saying
+wyatt croft i call bullshit also
wyatt croft Silver doesn't rust and takes a loooong time to tarnish under ground.

Its cool watching your old videos I love your channel because you were like oh oh it's silver but now your just like it's silver

Agreed, my new one is 2 seconds. I can't edit the intro out of this video because it has to many views. lol
+JD's Variety Channel cool im glad and its okay i understand im just glad the new one is sooner
+JD's Variety Channel shorter*
I get it man. Long intros are a drag. This video was posted over 500 days ago. The channel has come a long way since then. lol.
in the walls or under the concrete
=D
The money wouldn't be you'res If they owned it, they dont it's drug money property of the state and the state would tell you why you handing it in nobody would know about it just split it between you your buddy n the landlord in call it sweet days cash

I actually have a vagina
Jatt Larkar The only things I plant are vegetables......
Oh damn JD give him some cold water for that burn. 😂👍
That's wat I think
I don't see why you'd look for $100k with a metal detector. They wouldn't be hiding it in coins...
+shadfurman Rumor says it was buried in a military ammo box (metal).....
JD's Variety Channel ... Yea but still... Lol
+shadfurman Well, assuming the tale is true, a metal detector would indeed be quite helpful in locating the ammo can containing $100,000.
It's amazing just how much history has been lost for centuries under our feet
Would those coins be worth more if they were cleaned in vinegar or if they were in terrible condition like they were really dirty?
Short video where I found a stash of marijuana:

Your from Tennessee
If I was to hide 100000 dollars in a shed I would cut a hole in the insulation and hide it there
i found a coin made of silver and gold
british coin
I would have hid it in the walls
I'll hide 100,000 in a bank anyone else?
.
well if you're a drug lord, you wouldn't would you...
It will be suspicious and the government/police could easily take the cash if you're proven to be a druglord.
as long as you can prove you legally obtained the 100k ,you will have no problem putting it in the bank. if you can't prove it then you have big problems because the IRS is gonna take it charge you with tax invasion and that's just the beginning.

But I do want to say it was a really good video and you're totally right those little bunker things would be really cool to go see what's in it
Found this an interesting video. Thanks for the upload. Very nicely done.

inside of a couple of cinder blocks ... possibly installed in a non/low load bearing section(s) of wall ..... maybe also look for grout that looks different from surrounding grout ..... also look at the cement floor and then look for any abnormal patchwork as well as any seemingly "FIXED" or heavy items like a stove or furnace and move aside and inspect concrete/cement underneath.

Maybe how that metal roof is joined improperly would allow for easy access and no visible altering by removing the grommets that hold the decking down and cut away that expanding foam would be my way since after the foam sets you cant tell date on install if it wasn't exposed to sunlight
i know of a island off of crystal river florida, thats made all of ground up shells and coral, muscles. its a decent size, like half acre, with plants and vegitation in the middle, cacti all over.

Most of them were actually made of nickel... Thats not to say nickel pennies from the time aren't worth 30 plus dollars. For a penny I'll take that.
Have you checked the cavity in the brickwork? A wall like that would need a gap for insulation. just thought I would drop an idea.
Looks like fun, great videos, I am now inspired to get a metal detector! I live in one of the oldest cities in the U.S.
If you want a good metal detector which one should i get?
Hey, what part of Tennessee are you from. I currently live near pigeon forge and Kodak

Strictly for my own property not doing this as a hobby
Thanks
