- Still in search of Hitler's lost gold. We will find it one day but in the meantime we came across so many great WW2 relics at a former German army base.
We have been here several times and made videos of what we discovered here in the past. Last year or so I have recorded lots of video footage here which I have posted on my Patron website (link below). What you see here is a compilation of my and my friends digging there for over the past year. All the best finds combined into one big video. If you are a WW2 fanatic and love seeing old relics i'm sure that you will enjoy the video. It became a high paced video filled with some great WW2 treasure. So buckle in and enjoy the ride!
ps. Video has subtitles in multiple languages for your viewing pleasure!

FAQ:
-Do you report things found to the authorities?
Yes, all nasty things found like UXO's and finds that could be important from an archaeology perspective are reported to the local authorities.
-Do you sell finds?
I am a collector myself so I hardly sell relics. But if I do then I'll post it on the social media pages or think about becoming a Patron, because I'll share finds with my Patrons (check out the Patreon website for details).
-How do you gain permission for metal detecting?
Check out local laws regarding metal detecting and get permission from the landowner. Or hook up with a local metal detecting club in the area you would like to detect and get your information from them. (I stopped responding to questions like this all together, I'm not google..)
-Can I come with you?
No.
-Will you marry me?
No, lets just be friends.
-I want to see more!
Go check out the social media pages, or consider becoming a Patron! Patrons have access to much more, special videos, behind the scenes footage and WW2 goodie boxes containing relics me and my friends found over the years.
-What metal detector do you use?
The Garrett Ace Apex with a bigger coil or the Garrett AT Max.

Man RUclips algorithms/rules are dumb - I feel like a lot of people would really find this stuff fascinating and interesting and that it should have more views. Keep up the good work your videos are priceless
Thanks for your kind word Thomas. I appreciate it. All good on the number of views, as long as you guys enjoy the content I'm happy
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting your wholeseomness is that of a rare breed. Thank you for sharing with the world what you truly enjoy
I didn't know that until now
Probably because they are watching Fortnite gameplay or some uneducational shit like that.
@@IronMikeMetaldetectingI rather enjoy videos like this where they dig up things that came from the past.
After the end of the war in 1945, my grandfather was forcibly recruited by the American occupation forces in Vienna to remove the everyday objects of the National Socialists from the rooms of the state buildings.
Of course, he kept the cutlery.
When we visited my parents, we always ate with cutlery that had a swastika on it until they died in 2016/2017.

Awesome story Claudia and sorry for your loss. I hope the cutlery was passed on to you or family?
Of course, he was a nazi...

Mike, guys, BRILLIANT work. It never bores us Mike. Believe me, it just makes us envious and at the same time pleased that you're all preserving that history and sharing the adventures.
Thank you. Keep 'em commin! 👍👍👍
Thanks Marty. Glad you enjoyed the video. I will keep them coming!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for dropping by.

I think it’s awesome that you are excavating history! I would absolutely love to dig with you all. My father was German American and fought against Germany during WWII. He told me many stories from the war. You’ve earned yourself a subscriber!
I watch your videos with my husband Lee Stanford. The stone in the ring looks like bloodstone to me! Incredible find!!
Hi Rebecca, glad to see Lee tricked you into watching my videos too! ;-)
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting No tricks involved! I love watching them with him! Seriously, we enjoy them so much. We wish we could come on an adventure with you. Maybe one day! Wishing you all the best!
Rebecca, you would be correct in that the stone in the silver ring is a bloodstone. It is the Old World birthstone for March, I have one in a pendant, it is my birthstone, I was born in March. When I saw it I said Wow, look at that, it surprised me greatly
@@DiggerAlton I happen to love stones, rocks, etc. I recognized it immediately! Bloodstone is a lovely stone!
This is so cool. Thank you for sharing your finds with us here on RUclips. Must be painstaking, but rewarding, work!
Thanks for sharing such videos with us.
thank you for watching Halit. Appreciate you were there at the premiere.
Awesome work guys, especially that ring, I have my grand father's grand father's wedding ring, pure gold, fits perfectly. I never wear it though, passed on to the family. Keep up the great work, stay safe, I really enjoy your videos. Happy father's day to everyone too.
That is awesome! thanks for sharing that. also thanks for your kind words, appreciate it.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting Good morning, you're very welcome indeed, oh, I wanted to say, if you use gardening tools, small spades, hand rakes, snips, etc, that's gonna help a lit in excavations, shovels are great but as you know can damage artifacts, using smaller tools will reduce the chances of damaging relics. Just a thought to help out.
Great video Mike, some amazing finds, especially the badges, very nice, thanks 👍😀👌
Hey Mike. I live in America. And I’ve been obsessed with WW2 relics for years. Your content is great. Keep up the good work. I hope to one day be able to come over and do some searching myself.
Thanks! Glad to read you enjoy the channel.
Eu amo esses vídeos sobre a Segunda Guerra Mundial
You guys could start your own museum. Awesome stuff man. Well done video also 👍🍻✌
Maybe one day! Thanks for the view and your kind words.
Love your channel! Question…Do you plan on opening a museum showing your finds? I’m sure people would love to see them on display 😊
Hello, that tiny model a/c you found is not a Junkers but a Dornier Do17 medium bomber used in the earlier part of WW2 like over England in 1940. Good video. Thank you. Keep digging guys!
Thank you for providing reference photos of some of your finds.
you are welcome. Thanks for dropping by!
Got you a location if you can check it.i was stationed in germany in 1987.the kaserne was in munster near dieburg.when I got there a friend invited me to help him he was digging in the woods behind the mess hall and barracks nearest the entrance gate.we found alot of goodies just digging around.wish we would've had made a sifter.ive still got porcelain large bowl and coffee cup both intact with eagles! One 1940 the other 1939.i believe luftwaffe.great finds you guys are finding.

Very cool finds. I have to buy relics for my collection, it would be so cool to actually go out and find stuff.
That is what me got started. Was a relic collector at first but wanted to find relics with some more 'character'.
Outstanding video mike and chris some great fines good to see chris mike stay safe to you both 👍👍👍🙏🙏💪
Thanks Thomas for coming by again. Always a pleasure to read your comments :)
Love the video Mike!! And just curious could you do videos of cleaning the relics?? I think it would be pretty cool to see the tinnies (WHW badges) and all the other things all nice and clean.
just follow me on my instagram. Try to show the bling stuff there.
It’s incredible this stuff can still be found. I swear if that were in the US it would have all been removed and dumped somewhere for no one to find.
Absolutely enjoyed it! Love you channel and awsome finds!!
Glad you enjoyed the video Samuel!
I agree with your sentiments on the personal finds. That louse comb was pretty evocative to me, because the major histories and the news reels never seem to mention the lice and the general dirt that soldiers encountered.
would like someday to hunt in Germany for history like Iron Mike
Super RUclips channel! Beautiful finds👍Best regards from Polish 🙂
Thank you very much!
23:25 it says "Deutschland erwache!" which basically means "Germany awake!"
thanks for helping out! :)
Always spine tingling!!!👍🏻
Hulczyn (Hlučín, German Hultschin) - a town in eastern Bohemia, in the Moravian-Silesian region, in the Opava district. It is located in Opavian Silesia (which is part of Upper Silesia) and the Głubczyce Plateau.
Hulczyn is located on a lake, near the border with Poland. There is a museum of military fortifications in Hulczyn-Darkovički.
great, thanks for explaining that!
Fantastic to watch, first class guys.
Many thanks.👍
Maggi was a requirement in the kitchen when we lived near Trier in the mid-70s. After watching detectorists in Germany and across Europe, my mind's eye sees the terrain much differently.
There is still a bottle of Maggi in my kitchen cabinet today. It really a German/Dutch thing I guess.
Trust me, every time I go out without a detector, I'm just constanytly wondering would could lay there underneath the soil and searching for signs of war (foxholes, bomb-craters and trenches).
So that ring, it looks like a signet ring that has not been engraved yet. It appears to be Bloodstone, which is a popular stone back then for signet rings. Bloodstone was most popular in Russia during Imperial times, but was also used in Germany. The 830 might be a silver mark for a type of sterling, though being in the ground that long even Sterling would tarnish. 830 also comes out to 20K for gold. And I say that because it is completely untarnished. So, have it tested.
12:40 why is that bottle top blurred out?
hi Michael, it had the name and logo of a local brewery on it. Don't want other diggers to find out my position.
I liked the namebadge, Gustav Rosner, could be the Gustav Rosner that lived from 1923-2018. Hè was a chemiker.
Great great finds guys! Love it.
thanks!
Finally one that speaks English most of these WW2 channels i find that explore and dig up WW2 stuff speak German and yeah i don't know German.
LOL Thanks! English is not my native/first language but I hope you understand me well enough.
Another great start to the weekend big balls. Thanks mate
hey heath, not much UXO's to be found here so the balls were just average size this time (okay, maybe a bit bigger than average, kinda like that thought..)
Naturally, another video full of fascinating finds!! Klaus
the Medal/Patch of Hultschin at around 3:30 : Its a City nowadays located in the Czech republic close to Poland. The Czech name is Hlučín.
Bravo.....Adoro reliquias, objetivos antigos ainda mas quando se trata da 2 guerra mundial.
Hi Mike, incredible finds WOW! greetings to Italy 🇮🇹😀
Thanks buddy! How are things in Italy?
Hi Mike. a question those things are worth money? Would it be worth money to find a helmet or a uniform? 🖖
Hi! Thanks for watching the video!
Yes, items like medals and helmets can be worth quite some money. All depending on the state and how rare an item is.
Iron Mike Thank you my friend a great video here big regards from Scotland to you my friend..
Many thanks for watching!

What was that @12:27 blurred out that just got skipped?
That was a porcelain beer bottle top. The old style top which was held with a small bracket.
On the top there is the logo of a local brewery. Rather not have other people flying in there so had to blur that out.
What a great video. I really liked the old eagle on the cup. Digging in a trash pit would be fun. Love the video. Take care!
Glad you enjoyed it Mary! And again thanks for the support on the Patreon website.
great video and finds as always!✌

Wow, thats crazy. That there are so many old things under the earth. Til today I don't know where the badges from my grandfather are who served in the Wehrmacht.
Love this my gran has a mint condition razor from WW1 paper work and everything gold priceless no doubt

Maggi bottle then later the stopper COOL. What was in the bottle with liquid? The leave pass is outstanding. Those 3 badges are fantastic & the little airplane wooooooo! You have the best War time relic hunting channel.
Indeed those finds were very good. We found much more but I only showed you the fun and good stuff in this video.
Thanks for your kind words Joe. I appreciate it :)
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting That small bottle with liquid makes me curious. Was is water?
@@ElOmarco replying late, but those little bottles contained oil for guns

awesome video guys
thanks! :-)
That gem in the ring looks like bloodstone
Bingo!
Goes to show, how long plastic will survive.
ring was a nice find, 830 (83%) silver. awesome
The mirror finish on that ring would probably be highly visible, and therefore an extreme liability, in combat. If the owner was going to the front, I'm betting that they either put it in a pocket where it fell out, or discarded it.
Hi Mike, really enjoy your videos. Keep it up 👍👍. I noticed that a couple of relics that you designated as toothbrushes had bristles that seemed at least twice as long as a "normal" toothbrush. Could the longer bristled ones actually be brushes for pilishing uniform buttons and other regalia? Unless you guys know different of course 👍👍
Who gets to keep the finds when two of you working on the job
We usually divide the relics and the end of the day so nobody goes home empty handed.
But in the past we have also flipped coins to see who gets to have most wanted stuff.
Nice job intesting video tnx
What do you do with these finds? Would you consider donating to a museum? Or is it part of your personal funds? I really enjoy your videos… I binge watched when I found you… now I look for your video drops.
hi Stephanie, we are collectors ourselves. Museums are not interested in what we find. The few WW2 museums that do already have such a big collection that they don't need things we find. So it all ends up in our own collections or send it out to people who are interested. (in my case, people who support me on my Patreon website)
Versuche dabei zu sein! 👍🤟
Hope to see you tomorrow :)

Regarding the leave pass - it looks like it was laminated or in a plastic sleeve. Were plastics widely used for routine documents during the war?

HI Mike, just saw your vid, great stuff. would love to tag along but can't since I'm a long ways off. Curious What was the first object that was blurred out. Thanks for the view into the past.
Hi Douglas, it was a bottle top with the name of the local brewery. Didn't want to give away my position (might draw in unwanted guests)
