I may not like raisins, and I've tried many ways to see if I'd like them in some way, but I could never hate you Carla for loving raisins ☺️ I can try take 56 to see if I acquired a taste for raisins yet😅
Raisins are good, I don’t understand the hate. I did learn the hard way that raisins do not keep forever. (As evidenced by fermented raisins that got kicked out of my pantry.)
The way Carla grabbed items from the pantry and fridge and described her swiss chard stems as languishing had a kind of amazing Nigella Lawson energy to it
"Whatever the f*ck I just made over here," My god I've never felt something so deeply in my soul. Carla Lalli Music, you are officially my Saint of Cooking. Praised be your kitchen wisdom 🙌 😂
Love it ! This made me realize how traditional I am when it comes to pasta and how creative we can actually get. I have some old cauliflower, capers, lardons, sorrel leaves, pecorino, and some dried apricots maybe?? Top it with some hot chilies and a “ drizzle drazzle “ of lemon for sure!
Raisins & pasta make me feel nostalgic. My aunt used to make Nigella’s Venetian ghetto pasta - tagliatelle, roast chicken, rosemary, pine nuts aaand 🥁 raisins! Anyone hating on raisins in pasta hasn’t eaten that heavenly dish 🤤
@@lindak3030 neither have I, and you know what? Since writing that comment it’s been on my mind, so I’m making it today 😁 Maybe you could revisit it too! ☺️
I save these vids for after work so I can watch them with my partner. We literally had no clue what’s for dinner, made our rendition of this, followed our hearts, and it was great! 😊
Carla, do you dislike having to shuffle items around to access the stuff in the back? If you do, maybe adding some long, shallow-ish bins would be helpful! You could slide the bins out in order to reach the stuff in the back. Clear acrylic bins would make it easy to see everything still. Just an idea :)
I can’t wait for a Brooklyn book signing or some type of meet and greet. I know the weather will be perfect and Carla will serve craggy edges and for a moment I will feel significantly cooler being in her aura.
I love the realness of Carla’s pantry. My non-cooking friends tend to think I’m crazy for so many partially used bags of various beans or rices. But my system works let me live 😩
I usually hate raisins but I've found that when used in savory dishes they get infused with the other flavors and taste so much better. And they bring little pops of sweetness in an otherwise savory dish. I approve 👍
I heart this episode, and it inspired me to rummage through my cupboard and fridge to make desperation pasta. I took an instant noodle bowl (not using the flavor packet or the bits that were already in it, obvi), a lil bit of balsamic reduction, truffle olive oil, truffle salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, and grated parm. It. Was. SO. G O O D . So thank you ☺️
I come here to laugh, learn how to cook by the seat of my pants (which I do anyway, but at you teach us how to do it well, with heart), and to just feel the joy that you spread by doing what you do. I love you, Carla!
Looks delish!! I am all about the secret raisins, anchovies, olives and other Sicilian touches (YES to olives warmed in an herby citrus oil)--also love them tossed with roasted cauliflower. Interesting to me how different everyone's organizing systems are--I need to have my pantry storage at eye level and above, and need bins for grouping like items. Off to add Castelvetranos to my shopping list...😍 (and yes please to a spice tour)
Carla we need a video saying all your thoughts about Olive Oil. Like what your favorite, is where to buy, what kinda you might use for what etc. I feel like I need to know more than I do!!
Just sending a shout-out. I moved into a new place (in a new state!), and am very cognizant of organizing all my stuff, so this video totally resonates with me!
Absolutely do a spice tour. This was an immensely helpful video! As someone who makes meals with whatever I happen to have, I only enjoy the meals like half of the time. Are there tips you can give to increase that ratio lol?!?! :D Also very glad agrodolce is now part of my vocab!
Carla, this looks amazing. One of my favorite pasta dishes comes from Nigella Lawson - a slow-cooked zucchini sauce finished with Marsala-soaked raisins. I love raisins in pasta! Would love to see your spice shelves, too.
this reminds me of a question I had when I was watching the Bon Appetit videos. why did you guys tend to cover up the labels or brands of the ingredients that you were using? was there some rule where it would be an issue with copyright or was it so that the audience did not feel like the chefs/preparers were not endorsing a particular brand over others? I wasn't really sure why the latter would be an issue. also yes for the spice pantry tour!
with a big brand sometimes you'll do that to not violate an exclusive with another brand, or because you don't want it to look like you're endorsing a brand when you're not getting paid to do so... nothing is free in this world, le sigh
Love your channel, always watch your videos! I have the same blue cylinder of sea salt. Pantry reveals are very helpful and a great source of inspiration. Thanks.
Raisins are the Devil's child, which works well with the original terrible concept of Putanesca. But I have to love on the ''just grabbed whatever I have in my full pantry and stuffed fridge for this little 'anything but the kitchen sink thingy'. Deffinitely a case of 'I have nothing to wear' (ever said in front of a full closent...). Gotta love it despite thus hints of Devil offspring
I call my go to pasta “fast pasta”, and it contains crisped bacon, crumbled, halved cherry tomatoes, green onions and Parmesan. Pasta water emulsified with *some* of the bacon fat. 😋
I caught myself smiling during the whole cupboard segment. One of her best things I've picked up from C is the 'soffrito'. And giving it time to shed water and leave behind flavor.🤍
Hello, Carla! I’ve been on the hunt for a veggie cleaver for awhile now, yours looks perfect! (to no surprise, I’m obsessed with your aesthetic) Where would I be able to find another?
I do a pantry rice... with black beans, cuban seasoning, castelvetrano olives, scallions, ... maybe a little cilantro... You could add some shredded pork shoulder... 😋
I realized that my pantry organization is very much aligned with yours but it didn’t have a name of wet/wet and dry. 😂 Thanks for helping me name it! Unrelated. Pantry Mouse 🐭 seems like a good merch opportunity. Maybe some pantry Mouseketeer ears too?
Not here for the comments in the video trolling Carla.. we're all here because we love, respect and want to be her. We support every decision, even if it's raisins
Brilliant! Yes please to a spice cupboard tour👍😊I can't hate anyone that made me buy a 'Pressy Downy Thingy"... You are a star!⭐ Best wishes from Brisbane Down Under🦘
Is fish sauce a suitable trade for sardines? I usually have fish sauce in my fridge but never sardines. Thanks for tour: yes please to spice tour. How do you remember what you have already? What is your strategy to not over buy?
is kasha what you guys call buckwheat? if so, you must try boiling it like you normally would, separately stir fry mushrooms so they have some crispy edges, then throw in the buckwheat and stir fry that for just a little bit with butter - it's awesome :D you can, of course, add a little bit of garlic and whatever else you want.
Don't hate me because I love raisins.
I only like golden raisins. They taste better to me.
Would love to know the brand/type of your knife. I've been looking for one that shape.
I may not like raisins, and I've tried many ways to see if I'd like them in some way, but I could never hate you Carla for loving raisins ☺️
I can try take 56 to see if I acquired a taste for raisins yet😅
I love raisins in everything and have made a less considered version of this before - super glad to see all the ways you enriched it! Thanks
Raisins are good, I don’t understand the hate. I did learn the hard way that raisins do not keep forever. (As evidenced by fermented raisins that got kicked out of my pantry.)
I came for the drizzle-drazzle. Stayed for the snizzle-snazzle.
omg please pin this
No enough press-downy tho.
The way Carla grabbed items from the pantry and fridge and described her swiss chard stems as languishing had a kind of amazing Nigella Lawson energy to it
we haven’t heard her say microwave yet so....
Spice tour! Fridge tour! Yay for pantry pasta!
Yes fidge and freezer tour!
YUM!!!
Definitely want a spice cabinet tour!
“A thousand people just unsubscribed” 😂
Despite my hate for golden raisins, I will never unsubscribe lol! Love all of your recipes so much:)
"Whatever the f*ck I just made over here," My god I've never felt something so deeply in my soul. Carla Lalli Music, you are officially my Saint of Cooking. Praised be your kitchen wisdom 🙌 😂
I love the picture of Carla sitting on the floor going off about peanut butter 😭😭
I substituted dates... this is instantly on my top 10 make again list... F*#*ing AWESOMESAUCE... Thanks for the inspiration Carla 👌

That's my favorite Nigella recipe. Haven't made it in forever.

you make me feel validated with my obsession with downsizing and labeling😂
Yes we absolutely want to see the spice cabinet.. and refrigerator!
No comments on Carla’s gorgeous custom Walnut kitchen?
Wit, humor and yumminess is ALWAYS delivered with such panache! Thanks for the chuckles and smiles. We need more people like you Carla
I would love more information on your pepper mill, and a tour of your spice cabinet!
Please we need to see the spice cabinet!!! What are you’re top 5 “non-traditional” spices?

SPICE 👏 TOUR 👏 LET'S 👏 GO 👏
Lovely, delightful video (as always).. and we def all need a tour of that spice cabinet 🙏🥳
“ooooooo, secret 🤫 raisins!” ☺️ is such a good quote lol
I love this format of looking in the pantry/fridge for inspiration and making a meal!
Some of my best recipes were born out of desperation...and this reminds me of that. I love this kind of cooking! Create!
I love the realness of Carla’s pantry. My non-cooking friends tend to think I’m crazy for so many partially used bags of various beans or rices. But my system works let me live 😩

Legit LOVE everything about this. Raisens don't get enough love. GREAT episode, Carla be killin' it!
I, as a little cardboard mouse, am very pleased with this new content
love your cooking knowledge/style to pieces. you're a fucking king
The snack shelf gave me flashbacks to visiting all my granola friends when I was a kid :/
I heart this episode, and it inspired me to rummage through my cupboard and fridge to make desperation pasta. I love how evolved your pantry is. I would never expect any less of Carla!

Heck to the yes on the spice tour please!
I thought I would remain put off by the raisins, but now I'm kind of curious... Only Carla would dare and succeed...
I always love how personable and welcoming Carla is, but today the added bonus was the EXTRA-hilarious commentary by the editor. Nicely done!
Carla we need a video saying all your thoughts about Olive Oil. Like what your favorite, is where to buy, what kinda you might use for what etc. I feel like I need to know more than I do!!
LOVED your pantry tour! It looks like a “normal” person’s. Like mine! Very excited to see your spice tour!
Love pantry tours! Always love to see how everyone else organizes.
My mom, sisters and I make our own versions of 'pantry pasta' often- yours looks great !
Just sending a shout-out. I moved into a new place (in a new state!), and am very cognizant of organizing all my stuff, so this video totally resonates with me!
Yes, of course we want to see your spice cabinet!🤗🤗❤️

I can not even imagine what this creation tastes like but I know I will love it
Sorry to say, 😱my desperation dinners usually end being so-so, grey…you help with your options…yes, to a spice cabinet tour!!
I sometimes use frozen corn or spinach in my pantry pan pastas, oh, and capers.
I have golden raisins in my pantry. Will be making.
Carla, this looks amazing. One of my favorite pasta dishes comes from Nigella Lawson - a slow-cooked zucchini sauce finished with Marsala-soaked raisins. I love raisins in pasta! Would love to see your spice shelves, too.
My pantry pasta is beetroot and spinach leaves, finely chop and serve with chilli, garlic and parmesan cheese. Enjoy.
I love what's in your cupboards.
My kids are not fans of my snack shelf.
I would love a spice cabinet tour. In fact I think I need one!
I could see the green olives being like capers once they’re chopped up. Intriguing!
Thank you for sharing your pantry! Love it ❤
I highly relate to the “roll it n rubber band it” approach to some opened packages.

I love this episode so much! I need more videos like this one.
Need a spice cabinet tour and a Fridge/freezer Tour
This was great, I love your sense of humor!

Also, very good video! Your pantry is a real goal of mine now
My husband is always teasing me about putting things in size-appropriate containers! I feel validated!
This is perfect we often forget to downsize for storage and becomes a scavenger hunt finding breadcrumbs or raisins
4:54 ooh that looks tasty.... i didn't know that candied ginger was a thing, will have to look it up
I do a pantry rice... with black beans, cuban seasoning, castelvetrano olives, scallions, ... maybe a little cilantro... You could add some shredded pork shoulder... 😋
Let’s see that spice cabinet!!
I would love a tour of your spice cabinet
Love your videos. Love your food. Big fan from Cape Town.
This flavor combo is like the pasta version of Molly’s crispy potatoes with walnut dressing!

Spice cabinet tour. Yes, please.
I want a spice cabinet tour but mostly I really want to know the name of that black pepper grinder, please!!!
Mannkitchen!

I'm late to the party but I NEED to see a spice cabinet tour!!!!
When Carla called me a little cupboard mouse, I screamed!
How did I not notice Carla as sitting on the floor for like half this video
Spice tour! Spice tour! Spice tour! Pretty please and thank you ❤ love your whole vibe!!
Food aside, this video made my day! Laughed so hard
Officially Carla’s cupboard mouse! Loved this recipe!
Is fish sauce a suitable trade for sardines? I usually have fish sauce in my fridge but never sardines. Thanks for tour: yes please to spice tour. How do you remember what you have already? What is your strategy to not over buy?
Ok, I DO have Swiss chard stems in my fridge, I love hot olives AND raisins. So I’m sticking around!!
I need a spice cabinet tour!! Any must haves for every kitchen??

If you add bowties (farfalle) to that, you've got kasha varnishkas. Kasha is toasted buckwheat groats. I keep both kinds.
OMG this looks sooo delicious!!
Shout out all my scrabble-y gardners in the north nursing their last kale, chard and parsley babies. I had swiss chard stem soup last night :D
Basically pasta allo Scammaro, a dish from Naples. It’s delicious.
“What keeps a family together Butters?”

“A well-organized pantry”
What are the absolute staples of the pantry?? I want to keep it stocked like you but this seems a little aspirational 😅
I feel so validated in my chaos cooking now
I was doing agrodolce all along
omg i love these kinds of recipes
everyone should make pantry pasta! ☺️
I watched this while eating dinner, but definitely want a pasta party now with secret raisins
